I was looking for a camera to see how my dogs were doing if I needed to leave them at the house alone. I just set this up last night as tested it during their cuddle time before they officially went to their separate kennels for bed. •This was super easy to set up! Scanned the code on instructions pamflet with my phones camera. Then a link pops up, you click it, then takes you to download the Tris Home app (have to download the app). After you download app, you enter email, set ups username, and password. They send you a verification code and type it in. Then you pick the camera you have from the options and turn on your Bluetooth. Enter your wifi password for the camera. Turn on the camera. Then they connect. Bam, easy peasy. •I was worried the app would only work with the camera if I was home on my wifi but today I went for a walk and tested it out of the house, not on my wifi, and it worked just fine! •This camera works great at night. I was surprised how well it worked when I spoke through my phones app and it came through the cameras microphone. •The camera will record the delete and cycle through unless you add and SD card to save for longer periods of time. You can save more pictures and videos that way too. •You can move the camera from the app •Very good price point for what you get Comes with: -camera -usb cord and charging block -some hardware if you wanted to mount camera -instructions *Included picture of what my apps screen looks like when I'm checking in on my pups snuggle time and the options I have. I use it to check on my dog while away. I can see him and can call him to the camera. The night vision is very good too. It goes into black and while when in night vision mode. It was easy to get it going. I only had to download the app and sign up. Overall, I think it's worth it. The quality is good enough to check up on the house. For some added surveillance in a pinch this was really nice. The night vision quality was surprisingly clear. I got this since I have a dog learning to be home alone so the 2 way communication to speak to him and sort of redirect was helpful. I don't super love having another app on my phone but this isn't a a major brand so I understand. The instructions weren't super clear but you can figure it out. ... show more

The overall setup process is confusing and tedious. No instructions are included. I couldn't get past the the network configuration part of the install and the camera wasn't recognized. Thus the 1-star rating.

I got this IP camera to use to check in on our pet bird while we travel. The advertisement on Amazon shows that you can record video using a micro 128 GB SD card (aka TF card, not included), but there is no slot on the camera for a SD card! The software options for storing recordings states "No local TF card?", so it is evidently not built into the camera either. So what is your option if you want to record something? The smartphone software, by a company called Tris, only allows you to record to their "cloud" service. No one else's. For 3 days of recordings over a year's time, the charge is about $50/year, 7 days for $60/year, and up. This reminds me of how some companies sell printers dirt cheap but have exorbitantly priced ink refills. On a positive note, it was fairly easy to set up, but the software was glitchy. I will say that the images are sharp and clear, and the camera does recognize people and follow them, as advertised. However, I just want to check on my pet once in a while and don't want large monthly fees. So, I will be using it just for the live feed. Update: Two days ago I sent an email to the company (GLuckNiu) using their customer service address. I asked them about the missing SD card slot and whether or not I received the correct version of the product. They have yet to respond. So, I am reducing their score (from 3 stars to 2 stars) by one star for lack of customer service. Update 2: It took a week but the company got back to me. They sent me a simple graphic that showed how to locate the SD card slot. This info was not available from the instructions included with the camera. So, I am going to add a star to this review, but future purchasers still may not know how to access the card slot unless they read this review all the way through! ... show more
