Coop is sturdy, yet can be moved around easily with two people. Needs a little reinforcement such as wood glue while putting it together. I plan on applying/brushing on boiled linseed oil to protect the wood and will keep it out of direct elements for longer life, as the wood would not last long if not treated or protected. Do not recommend! Built very cheap and does not hold up mine broke 2nd day of using it and have been fixing it constantly since I built it due to cheap screws, hardware and wood. Top lid hinge broke, door broke off 2nd day, and have almost totally replaced door with a wood door I had to build, latch on door is flimsy and is hard to open that is next on list to replace wood braces inside lid and walls are warping and popping off (just small staples in them) not worth the money I would say build one yourself this is a piece of junk. ... show more

The bad: Fasteners are much too short and other hardware not robust enough for the expected repeated use any chicken coop will receive. Without paint (or kept under cover as we do), the coop can not be expected to hold up to the elements. It is small ( we keep only 4 small Silkies in it so our other, larger, hens won't bully them ), but it keeps our birds safe at night. The good: Without a doubt, this is good budget coop for a few birds which will require repairs and modifications fairly soon after putting into use -- but for the price, what more can one expect ? ... show more

Totally thrilled with this product. Came 5 days earlier than scheduled. Was packed safely . All parts intact. Good instructions. Went together fast and easy. 2 nicely placed roosting perches. The wood smells really good like cedar. All hardware make the coop efficient and as needed . We will paint the outside and build a stand with 2x4 to make it eye level. And extend the ladder to ground level. Great value . Highly recommend this product. ... show more

Item was inexpensive and you def get what you pay for. I have purchased a different coop last year of a different brand but thought that maybe the reviews I read of "cheap wood" were just bc it wasnt heavy. But once I got it I went to put it together and it was awful! Wood was stapled together but several pieces had fallen apart and even came broken! I returned it asap! I wouldnt recommend this product! ... show more

    • Don't buy this- chicken crap quality
When taking out of the box, many cosmetic peices were broken or cracked. I was still able to put it together. At a later date I wanted to rearrange the set up in their run, even though we put the coup together correctly, the second I tried to move it, it came apart like ikea furniture. Did not last a year and no longer usable. It will be thrown into the fire pit. Beware and spend a little extra for better quality. ... show more

I was in a pinch and needed a place to put baby chick's. It's working fine. It's not bad for the price just don't expect perfection. Screws are small, wood is light so sone pieces were broke off but nothing gorilla glue couldn't fix.

One of the wooden pieces was broken off. The bracket that holds up the roof had the worst instructions as to how to attach it; prepare to make several attempts. The screws for the roof hinges were so small they ripped straight out the first time we opened it. Still, no complaints from the chickens, - not a peep! ... show more
