Nice simple coffee maker I can bring to work and make a cup when I need coffee. Everything works well so far, although sometimes while sputtering at the end of a brew the wet coffee grounds can splash up to the lid of the brewing area and the instructions made me worry it might clog the piping if grounds ever got pulled into the water tank. No issues so far though after weeks of usage, and it does make a nice hot cup of coffee each time. Easy to use and lightweight. The insulated coffee mug is a fun addition and I find myself using it even when I'm not brewing coffee with the machine, to keep tea hot or travel with. The rubber stopper works very well to prevent spills and makes it nice to use for travel. My only criticism of the mug is I have to use a bottle cleaner wand to clean inside since the interior diameter is pretty tight, and my big hands can't fit down to the bottom with a sponge to clean lol. ... show more

There must be a zillion different single cup coffee makers available on Amazon and I have not tested any of them other than this unit from Avigator, which worked fine for me after an initial “dry run” (actually a wet run to clean the unit from the factory). I don't drink coffee and my wife is down to a single large cup a day, so when our 4 cup Mr. Coffee finally gave up the ghost (glass pot broke), this seemed like a good choice to replace it. I saw that some similar units with ”brand names” cost several times as much as this unit and I am not sure that they can actually make a better cup of coffee, which is far more dependent on the actual coffee than how it is brewed, since they all use the drip method. Some reviewers complained about the cup that comes with the unit, but I would imagine that any coffee aficionado would have their own preferred mug and not want to use it anyway. I would need to do some testing, but I would imagine that you could brew 6 and 8 ounce cups as well. We will also be looking for paper filters that can be used with the coffee holder, which may make a mellower cup of coffee and facilitate making smaller portions. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I got this single cup coffee brewer for work, where we have bags and bags of ground coffee and someone keeps tossing the refillable Keurig filter. I got this because most people can easily use a coffee brewer, and I don't have all of my home coffee equipment at the office. This has a reusable mesh filter that just needs to be rinsed with water. It comes with a measuring spoon. I use 1 scoop for each 4 oz of coffee and I make a 12 oz cup (3 scoops). The coffee turns out ok if you agitated the grounds a bit/move the spout where the water drips from, otherwise you will get an uneven saturation of the bed. Of course the quality of your grounds does matter, and I prefer grinding mine fresh. I use the same grind that is use for pour overs. I use the included cup to measure the water but I haven't used it to drink out of because I have a coffee cup I prefer. My 12 oz cup fits nicely. Simply add your water and grounds, press the on button, and wait. Unit shuts off when water is empty. Versus a Keurig this is much better, and cheaper, with less waste. If you're looking for a budget 1 cup brewer that will make decent coffee using quality grounds, this little guy is a good option. ... show more

This coffee maker is compact and easy to use. I first washed the filter basket and tumbler, and then I added water to clean the machine; I ran it with only water twice. You need to hold the "on" button for a second or two. Overall, this works as it should. I ordered it for traveling, but use it at home due to the convenience. It is compact, and does not take up too much counter space. The tumbler gets very hot, so be sure to use the included sleeve. Cleaning is simple. There is no removable water tank; just pour the water in the top of the machine. This would make a great gift for an office or dorm room. ... show more

I like this little single-serve coffee maker. I had used the pod style single serve makers in the past but don't like buying the pods. This one is just like a shrunken down drip brewer that only does one cup at a time, which fits my needs much better. My only complaint with this unit is the included cup. The listing and instructions list the cup as having "thermal insulation", but I am here to tell you that it does not. When you brew straight into the included travel cup, the outside of the cup gets HOT. And when I say hot, I mean it is uncomfortably hot. One way to bypass that issue would to brew into your own ceramic mug, or other insulated cup, so it's not that big of a deal, but it's pretty annoying. ... show more

This little coffee maker is perfect for my desk in the office - I love that it doesn't require a filter making it really easy to use and clean. In addition to coffee, its great for a quick pour over tea brew. I have it next to one of those instant water tap things so I have everything I need right at my fingertips. The cup is a perfect size (fits well in cup holders for a cuppa joe on the go) and I like the travel mug top that helps prevent spills.
