  • Fast, no splatter! Great little machine!
Color: Black
Several reviews mention that this coffee maker takes a long time -- up to two minutes -- to brew a cup of coffee. Some reviews suggest you go do a little something else while you wait. Other reviews say (and a few show) that the machine splatters water everywhere. Some say it's loud. I'm not saying that those scenarios are not true. Some pictures even prove it. In fact, I was a little hesitant to hit the "order" button for fear of these issues. However, none of these issues has been a problem since this little machine was plugged in at our newly outfitted dining room coffee bar. This machine brews INSTANTLY, as fast as our big Keurig in the kitchen. And NO SPLATTER. Clean as a whistle. And noise? Well, I don't remember the noise, which means it's the same as or even quieter than our big kitchen Keurig. I was also pleasantly surprised to feel how heavy the machine is. I don't know what I was expecting. Maybe something that was as lightweight (disturbingly so) as our new, very basic toaster. But this thing has sufficient heft to it, looks great on our coffee bar cabinet, makes coffee in a snap, and I think it even has an auto-off after brewing. (I say "I think" because I don't remember turning the machine off after brewing my cup and when I returned to the machine a few minutes later, the "on" button wasn't lit.) This little machine just makes my day, one cup at a time. I love it! UPDATE: The machine failed this morning. I've only had the coffee brewer since September 19, 2024, which as of this writing, is only a month and a half. I brew one cup per day in the machine, so I would say it gets light use. This morning, distracted, I forgot to put water in the reservoir prior to hitting Brew. As soon as I realized that there was no water, I lifted the lid to stop the brewing, put water in the reservoir and hit Brew. It failed to brew and instead, turned off. I tried a new K-Cup and started over. Still turned off. I unplugged the machine. It still turned off and would not brew. I called Keurig customer service to troubleshoot, figuring there is an easy solution to this issue. After a few questions, they determined that the machine is faulty and said to return it. The upshot: it worked well up until it didn't. Maybe it was operator error, as I forgot to put water in the reservoir. But our big main Keurig machine doesn't have that issue. After some reading, we discovered that this little machine, in its stripped-down design, doesn't have a "water low" warning and the elements burn out easily/quickly. So I don't know if it was operator error that caused the issue or if the machine is prone to this issue and it would have burned out anyway. We take good care of our appliances and gently/carefully use them. I am now hesitant to reorder this machine. It seems sensitive and not able to take regular, human use without breaking down. ... show more

  • Definitely the right choice for me. Hope they update it without screwing it up.
Color: Black
I chose this one because I didn't want a bunch of features I wasn't going to use. Each feature is something that can break and make you need a new one. If you aren't gonna use that feature, then why bother? Right away I didn't want a reservoir that comes out. This one doesn't. Perfect! They can be a pain to put back in. The k-mini plus has an 8 ounce reservoir that comes out and supposedly a 12 ounce cup size??? A couple things wrong there. I didn't want to have to select a cup size. With this one I just pour in as much water as I want using the cup I'm gonna be drinking out of and it brews with all of it. Great! The cup size selector can limit your options. For starters, what if I want an 11 ounce cup? It's also a feature that can break. No thanks. Some of the more advanced models give an "oops" error I've seen complained about. It can make it very tempermental when it comes to starting the brewing process. NO THANKS. This model doesn't seem to have any internal computer that can give an error and cause issues. Either that or this novice has just had no isues to date. That useless feature seems broken to start with. Some models have a "stronger brew" button, a water filter and a temperature control to make it either hotter or cooler. If there's any way they could add those to this model without changing a single thing about it, I'd be in heaven. Take note keurig: ADD, BUT DO NOT CHANGE! Patiently waiting for my k-mini elite that they'll probably screw up like the k-mimi plus. <sigh> I'm not saying it doesn't brew the coffe hot enough or strong enough, but it's a couple features I might actually like and use. This is my first keurig or single serve coffee pot of any kind. Since I brew one cup at a time, it was a pain using anything larger. There wasn't enough coffee in the filter to really keep it from falling over. I had issues with it dripping after the brewing was done down onto the hot plate. Fixing those two issues is what drove me here in the first place. So far, so good. I use the universal reusable k-cup filter. I'll try to save anybody reading this some time. There is no such thing as a reusable coffee filter that doesn't leave a little sediment in the bottom of your cup. Some people just stop drinking and throw away the last mouthful. I use a paper filter inside the reusable one and that catches the sediment. I'll try to save you a little more time. If you use the universal filter by keurig, there are no paper filters quite tall enough to fill the whole thing. That reusable filter is taller than almost all of them and therefore any company making a paper filter that size is eliminating all users of shorter ones as potential customers. I just put the paper filter in the reusable one and fill it. Push it down into the bottom with my finger and finish filling it. Works perfectly. Never any grinds or sediment. Paper filters also make cleaning the reusable one much easier. ... show more

  • Bad out of the factory.
Color: Evergreen
I hope you'll take the time to read this one star review because it is not coming from a place of anger and is written by someone who is very confident that they know how to operate simple home appliances. Where I work, we have a larger Keurig brewer that gets daily use from at least five people, typically in rapid succession and sometimes multiple times per person. With that in mind, I considered Keurig to be a producer of reliable single serve coffee machines. I purchased this item in December of 2023 and it started getting used on Christmas day. I appreciate an 8oz cup of coffee, and was pleased to see that it happily brews up an 8oz cup of coffee with no complaint. All is well with the world. My wife, who would prefer a cup of stronger coffee, wanted to try it out at its minimum water level of 6oz. The reservoir emptied, but it refused to brew. Well, as much as that sucks, we figured that there may just be a design oversight where it *has* to be exactly 6oz of water, and maybe we were just under that somehow. I added a few more ounces of water and got it to actually brew. I suggested always making sure it was over the 6oz line, and that seemed to be the solution. In April of 2024, we hit a snag - it wouldn't brew an 8oz cup of coffee. I tried giving it a few more ounces and it once again did brew that cup of coffee, albeit weaker than intended. I chalked it up to maybe having mismeasured the cup. Now here we are in June of 2024. It once again would not brew an 8oz cup of coffee. No amount of additional water given to it would make it brew the coffee. The instruction manual says to hold the button for 5 seconds to purge the water that is currently in it, but it would do no such thing. Eventually, it did brew the water it had in it after I turned the entire machine off and back on, presumably resetting its software... But after getting 12oz of water out of it and pouring it down the sink, the next 8oz cup... Wouldn't brew. I added more water and for the first time ever, found that water was somehow leaking out of the bottom. Where did it come from? Who knows. I cleaned up and took the entire thing to the sink, pouring out what was in the reservoir and trying to see if I could shake more water out of wherever this mystery puddle had come from. There was the obvious sloshing sound of water coming from inside the machine, presumably in whatever little heating chamber it has in there, but shake as I might, I could not get the water to leave that heating chamber. So, one K-cup gone to waste and no coffee made. A shame. I did not successfully brew a cup of coffee after that. I re-read the instruction manual to see if there is something I missed, but no. We have used only filtered water in this machine, pulled through a Zero Water filter, so there is almost no chance that something is clogged or scaled, and I have no intention of purchasing Keurig's overpriced bottles of lemon juice to attempt to descale the machine. I have not yet sought remediation through Keurig, but I intend to. Regardless of the outcome, it won't change my review of this machine because I have read the one and two star reviews and see that this is a common problem. If Keurig honors their one year warranty and sends me a replacement machine at no cost to me, then what I can say is that Keurig is a company with standards and integrity, but it won't change my opinion that there is something built to fail about this particular model. If they do not honor that warranty, my opinion of Keurig will be at rock bottom and I will find other ways to make my $60 "investment" serve me. As an aside, it baffles me that there is a "minimum" amount of water that a coffee machine will take. I understand that inevitably, some small portion of water boiled is lost as steam, but you have to cook water for a long time to lose an appreciable amount. As someone entirely unfamiliar with the mechanisms at work inside this brewer, I think it may be suffering from being overcomplicated. It shouldn't care how much water it has in it - it should simply dispense hot water. Based on sound alone, these machines have a pump that ejects the water, so it doesn't seem to rely on the steam to force the water out. No one wants to spend 80 cents to over a dollar on a K-cup to get two drips of coffee, the user is not going to sabotage themselves with less water. ... show more

  • Great Coffee Maker... Great Coffee Maker...
Color: Studio Gray
PROS: My Keureg mini coffee maker makes coffee quick & easy. It's compact. It's easy to adapt to It's functionality. Quick & easy to clean. The coffee's scent is smelled in my kitchen as it's brewing which is therapeutic to me. Overall, it's a great coffee maker. I'm satisfied but, to me, it has it's CONS. Read below... CONS: ***Not a great coffee maker! The coffee doesn't come out strong as apposed to when I do it in a French Press!*** The flip door that you open to add the filtered water that's located on the top/back, is very thin and flimsy. I have thick fingers (HaHa) and everytime I add water, I'm afraid I might break it while adding water if my cup or fingers touch it. This water lid that you use to open and to pour water in, feels like a delicate toy! (See pics). Also, the water in the visible clear tank, doesn't empty out all the way from the water tank. In other words, you have to wipe the clear water tank clean with a tissue or a cloth, in order to avoid water from staying there and probably going bad to risk bacteria build up and drinking it whenever you reuse it on your next coffee run. I hope I was clear enough on this important detail. The other CON is, the lower frontal part, where you place your coffee cup/mug and it's area. The grill where you place your cup/mug(is also a thin plastic but not as thin as where you add water where I preciously mentioned. The grill detaches from it's base for easy washing because coffee drops fall in below into the base. The bottom base that holds the grill thats located in the lower frontal area(with tiny holes) where the cup/mug is placed, SLIDES OFF. In other words, nothing clicks it on to the entire coffee maker. So, you can actually pull off that section abd put it back and nothing will click it in place. So if you move the entire coffee machine/maker, and you slant the upper front part of the coffee maker forward, guess what... the grill and grill holder will slide off and fall to the ground because it's just placed there without it clicking lock to the rest of the coffee maker/ machine. I also had to learn how to remove and detach the part where the Kcup is inserted for a more thorough cleaning and disinfecting. (SEE PICS) There are videos out there that shows you how to remove and clean this part of this machine and how to clean the machine in general with vinegar and water which I havent done due to recently purchasing this Keurig device. When it comes to the color of this coffee maker(gray), I thought it was going to be a lighter gray. I'd prefer a more vibrant gray than a dull looking one. It almost looks like a dingy gray to me, eventhough it's a brand new one. But that's my personal opinion. Don't get me wrong. I love my Keurig mini coffee maker. I just feel that it needs some slight improvements in order for it to improve in quality & performance. ... show more
