  • Versatile Coffee Maker
Style: w/ K Cup Combo (Paper Filter)
We tried every aspect of the Ninja DualBrew Pro except espresso. My husband drinks coffee; I drink tea. Thumbs up on the Keurig pod coffee. The machine brewed HOT coffee with outstanding flavor. The boiling water feature for my tea boiled at least 2 ounces away in steam. I’m at 5500 feet altitude and had already performed the calibration process. The tea was so flavorful; much better than my normal BUT it was lukewarm even after heating the froth. LOVE the froth attachment. My husband’s coffee, brewed with the silver permanent coffee filter, was lukewarm. I tasted it, it was brewed on Rich and it was very tasty. I will try the heated coffee cup option but I’ve never had to do this previously with our little thermal carafe coffeemaker. I had it on delay but it never started at the designated time. I am finding the stopper for the coffee pot is difficult to seat on the pot. I’m not sure you could ever make espresso because the water does not get hot enough. So we’ve got pros and cons. It’s a beautifully designed machine that is so versatile but we like HOT coffee and tea. UPDATE: Changed to 5 stars. We generally brew coffee and tea one cup at a time. So the lukewarm issue pertains to carafe made coffee. When brewed with ceramic mugs, the coffee and tea is HOT. I think the "heated mug" option discussed in the instructions would resolve the lukewarm coffee/tea brewed in the carafe. Also, I resolved the Delay problem. It has to be done every night. I just assumed if it was set up and in Delay, it would work like my other coffee maker. You have to actually turn it on. After using the Ninja for a while, we both really love it. It makes outstanding coffee and tea and it's sort of fun to use. Update #2. After 1 month use, First, the coffeemaker would not “read” the pod adapter so could no longer brew pod coffee. Then while on the phone with Shark/Ninja customer service, the coffee feature went out. So now, I can only boil water. The customer service was excellent. I should have a new coffeemaker in 3-5 days, no shipping fees because it broke within 90 days. This reminds me of the Cuisinart toaster/airfryer/oven I got which did not work but the second one broke too. After spending so much time on the phone, I just gave it away. We’ll see if this coffeemaker makes it to the 1-year warranty without breaking. Still love it though. Update 2: received a new coffeemaker unit without any of the accessories within 3 days. The pod unit works perfectly. All the issues mentioned about lukewarm coffee does not seem to be a problem anymore probably due to single use in a ceramic mug. I really love this coffeemaker! ... show more

  • It's worth it
Style: w/ K Cup Combo (Paper Filter)
I have a love/hate relationship with Ninja products - I really love them. But I strongly dislike the warranty. And I hate the lifespan. Once they are done - they're done. I have had a couple of Ninja blenders that surpass the crushing and blending power of my 30 year old beehive Oster - but their life expectancy is about five years. This was a very strong consideration in purchasing a $200 coffee maker. I am not a coffee connoisseur - I typically drink one cup daily - very strong with cream only. But it has to be a perfect cup. I want to enjoy every single sip. I found a Ninja coffee system, brand new, at a thrift store locally for $15. The coffee was amazing. Perfect every single time. When my son moved to his own place, I gifted it to him and started researching one for me. Since I am the only coffee drinker in the house now (no, I'm not crying because he's gone, don't be silly) I considered a Keurig. But I honestly do not like the quality of the coffee from those machines - have tried several but it is not at all to my liking. However, the amount of wasted coffee I was dealing with really started bothering me and decided I needed an option for one cup. This machine is really perfect. The one cup option that I thought I settled for because it is a K cup option turned out to produce an amazing cup of coffee. I THINK it is because the Ninja makes three holes into the K cup rather than the standard one hole other machines use? It may also be the water temperature gets super hot. I do not know, but I really appreciate the depth of flavor from the K cup option on this machine. Another nice option that I never thought I'd want is the frother. It seems silly to me, but one comment in the Ninja manual stated that a cold cup with cream steals the heat from the coffee and changes the flavor - so I toyed around with the frother, using the microwave for 30 seconds and then blending the coffee and cream - its fantastic. This week I had a fever and opted for tea over coffee - I remembered the hot water option on this machine - it gave me two options - hot water and boil - I selected boil and my tea was steeping in no time at the perfect temperature. I absolutely appreciate that the water runs through a separate dispenser so my tea did not have any coffee residue or discoloration or flavor. I plan now to retire my stand alone boiler. The reservoir on the Ninja is adequate for my one cup daily - it is very easy to remove and fill or even fill while in place - I prefer the side option, but like that it can be attached to the back to save space. I don't think that would make much difference because this machine is very big - it does not fit under my standard cabinets. I bought this as a birthday gift for myself and if that last son hadn't left at the same time, I likely wouldn't have spent that much money on myself - but I was pitiful. I am extremely happy I did because the cost is worth it. I am very hopeful this machine will last past my 5 year expectation. Since I do not purchase coffee daily, I cannot state that I have saved money - I mean, I have because I'm not making half pots just for myself and wasting most of that - but if I were a coffee shop customer, I would absolutely think I'd save money with the frother thing and the quality of the coffee - It is really a great machine and I very highly recommend you purchase it. I was debating between the Keurig Duo Pro and this machine and given the quality of the K cup coffee from this, I haven't once looked back - there is no way in my mind the Keurig would produce the same quality cup from the K cups. • Good all around coffee maker, can handle one or a crowd
Style: w/ K Cup Combo (Paper Filter)
Since apparently I have just about every way to make coffee known to man, I had to have this coffee maker. While I love the convenience of k-cups, I don’t always love the price, especially for good coffee. This machine makes good coffee consistently whether it makes a pot, a cup of drip coffee or a k-cup. The only thing I noticed was with certain types of k-cups (Starbucks), the pods sometimes explode and make a mess. Not sure if it’s the fault of the machine or the pods. This machine takes up less space than you’d think. I love the fact that it has a water (hot or boil) only option the uses a different output so you don’t get coffee residue in your tea or whatever. It is also easy to clean. I did purchase a permanent filter (some models come with one I think) which work fine and are less expensive than the one made for this machine. All in all, a good machine. ... show more

  • Excellent Coffee Brewer
Style: w/ K Cup Combo (Paper Filter)
I've been using Keurigs for many years but when I ran across the CFP301 on sale, I was intrigued enough to give it a try. I really liked how you could set so many brew sizes and the ability to brew 1/4 carafe if I wanted a few cups without having to make two individual cups. I actually planned to use it mostly with reusable pods, like I've always done with my Keurigs, so I ordered a set that would work with this machine (most will not). The pods I bought look to be good quality, but I've never used them. I've been using pods for so long it never clicked that with a machine like this, using reusable pods makes no sense whatsoever. Just use a regular filter, add your coffee and set the brew size to the size cup you want. But there's more. Much more. With a Keurig or other pod-style machine, you are limited by the size of the pod. They can work a little magic by slow-walking the brew for a travel mug, but it was always weaker than a standard cup and there was little you could do to remedy it except for maybe brewing two pods into one cup. With the Ninja, I can simply adjust the amount of coffee and select the desired brew size. Done. Delicious. This machine, like all of the Ninja products I own, is well engineered. The moveable tank is a fantastic idea and is easy to use. The flip-down cup holder? Awesome! The foldable frother? Very cool, and the way you can just pop it off over the cup to take it to the sink is slick. Even the "smart" scoop is a very nice touch. Everything is so easy to use and convenient. The carafe is well designed and easy to clean. The insert for the carafe ensures the hottest coffee is circulated from the bottom up. Nice! I've had no issues with the temperature of my coffee. It has been nice and hot every time and the hot plate under the carafe makes sure it stays that way. When using a thermal travel mug, I'll either let it cool for a few minutes or plop a small piece of ice into it. It's hot. For filters, I am using Melitta #4 and folding the seams as recommended by Ninja. These are affordable, especially if you buy them in multi-packs. The result is delicious, ground-free coffee. I've read several reviews complaining about grounds in their coffee, but they don't mention their particular setup. Are they using a permanent filter? Pods? I don't know, but I'm not getting any and I'm not sure how I could using the paper filters. As for any negatives, which I feel compelled to include in any review, the only things I can think of are insignificant. The build quality is great, but it is a lot of plastic. For the price-point, it's definitely as good as I think one could reasonably expect. As long as it holds up to plenty of use, it looks good, works very well and I'm happy with it. I do wish there was a little capacitor to power the clock temporarily during brief power outages or if you unplug it for a few minutes. This is a tiny complaint, but I already have two other clocks on other appliances in my kitchen and it's a minor nuisance having to reset all these clocks every time the power blips. I haven't had the machine long enough to do a long-term review but if anything changes, I will update my review. So far, I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend it. Edit (11/2023): I've been using this coffee maker for five months now, and I would now be lost without it. I absolutely love the versatility. My most recent development was to dig out my old 34 oz. French press, which fits nicely under the filter basket. For the best, boldest coffee, I measure the proper amount of coffee into the press and add 24 oz. of hot water from the Ninja for my normal 2 12 oz. cups. Easiest way ever to use the press. If I need a whole pot or just quick cup, I just brew like normal. If someone has a favorite K-cup, the insert works as expected. Selecting the brew size for coffee or water has been consistent and accurate. I really, really love this coffee maker. ... show more

  • Great coffee maker Great coffee maker
Style: w/ K Cup Combo (Paper Filter)
Very happy with this coffee maker, and all the attention to the details. Makes a pot of coffee or uses pods and it does not take up a lot of space for being a dual coffee maker. The pot has a tube in it so that it doesn’t splash; it also has a fold down cupholder so it doesn’t splash if making one serving. The foam wand is easy to use and easy to rinse clean and tuck away. Has lots of options for the different variations of coffee that can be made. It also has a large reservoir so that I don’t need to fill it all week when I’m on the go. Also has a separate water hole for hot water for tea, etc. so it doesn’t have residual coffee in the water. I also bought the extended three-year warranty for it because I can tell if anything were to happen to it, I am going to want this coffee maker again. ... show more

  • Great coffee maker
Style: w/ K Cup Combo (Paper Filter)
I wanted to write this as I’ve had this for about six months now and feel like I have a good foundation for a review. I have to say I was a little skeptical because it’s fairly pricy, but this is a great coffee maker. It brews the fastest out of any coffee maker I’ve ever used and it’s super easy to use. I also love the hot water feature and think it’s brilliant they have a separate reservoir so your water doesn’t taste like coffee. The only thing they really need to is the measurements on the water tank do not match the measurements on the screen. The screen has ounces and they need to put ounces on the water tank too. They have pictures on both the screen and the tank that indicate fullness (full pot, half pot, travel mug. Etc) but the screen has levels in between each indicators that do not match to anything on the tank. It’s stupid and confusing and they need to make it match. Otherwise this is an awesome coffee maker and I highly recommend. ... show more

  • An awesome single serve brewer that is about as perfect as it gets.
Style: w/ K Cup Combo (Paper Filter)
You're looking for a coffee maker. Maybe a big multi-cup jobber isn't right for you, and you're trying to pick between the many options available. I too was in the same boat and after being disappointed with a recent Keurig purchase (dang chemical taste), I decided to find something that might work better for me. I will be honest that I dug out an old single serve coffee maker. Think of one of those little brewers you'd see in a cheap hotel. However, it worked, and was easy to clean with the stainless screen. I just found the flavor a bit lacking, and it didn't brew hot enough for me. I do own a couple other Ninja appliances that have worked well, so when I saw they offered a single serve coffee maker that would take normal grounds and pods, I decided to pull the trigger. The biggest plus was it has a water tank, so I can fill it with filtered water and make many cups of coffee using without having to fill it each time. I opted for the XL version to get the added water capacity. Getting into using the machine, it was easy to set up. Washed a few parts and I was off to the coffee making races. I normally brew around 12 OZ, and I use Gavina coffee. SInce it's not exactly like my other single serve brewer, I knew I'd have to tweak the amount of grounds being used. I landed on two slightly mounded tablespoons for a 12 oz brew. In terms of the build quality, I really like it. I also like that I can fit my big coffee mug without any issues. That is one big factor that can irk me, not being able to use my travel mugs. However, this machine has no problem in that area. Nothing feels cheap on this machine, and it looks nice as well. So how does it brew? Great! It gets plenty hot and brews the best cup of coffee I've had in a long time. I first tried the classic mode and it was good. However, when I switched to the rich mode, wow. It really enhances the flavor of the coffee and tastes excellent. Also, unlike the Keurig brewers I've bought over the years, this one has ZERO chemical/plastic taste. Good to go. I did run about 5 cycles through the machine before using it though. This thing is awesome and I'm glad I bought it. I didn't test the frother since I normally don't froth anything, but in terms of it making a great cup of coffee, it's a winner. I also love that it saves settings in between uses. So if I dial it in for the way I like my coffee, it has the same settings the next day. SImple but many brewers do NOT offer this. In terms of critiques, I only have one. It's cleaning out the filter assembly after brewing. It has a diffuser lid and it just makes smacking the filter assembly to knock the grounds out more difficult. I wish the lid was designed differently, but it's a very minor annoyance. Besides that, this thing is a home run in my book. I hope it lasts, but I can tell you sipping on a cup of coffee I brewed with this machine, it's the best I've been able to brew from this Gavina blend. Updates: 1. The removable basket which holds the grounds has a diffuser for the hot water to distribute over the grounds. This is not just a clip on, it's a twist lock, and is a bit cumbersome if it comes loose. It fell off in the garbage can a few times until I realized you really had to push and give it a hard twist to lock it on the lid. 2. I have moved on to using disposable filters which greatly reduces cleanup time and also puts less sediment into the brewed coffee. ASIN: B0FQV6H53G 3. The brewer continues to work great. Super happy with it! ... show more
