  • Second machine! The best!
Style: Frother + Paper Filter
This is my second 301 machine. The first lasted 9 years. I kept my permanent filter and reusable pods and carafe and scoop. Just received this machine. It was like new. It steamed a little while brewing, and made two perfect cups of coffee. One from a k-cup and one from a reusable pod from my old machine. The taste of the coffee was perfect. Was debating on getting a nespresso mini to have expresso too. This machine is somewhat narrow so the mini would look cute beside it. I may someday. I feel I’m more of a coffee girl though. I thought about the cuisinart barista 4 in 1. It does coffee and expresso. But I heard it’s a jack of all trades and master of none. This ninja really delivers amazing coffee. It has few parts and is extremely easy to clean. It has a delay button. Its tank is big and removable for filling. My husband would’ve let me buy any machine, but I chose this again. It really is built to last. I can’t say I descaled more than two or three times in my old one’s life too. I only used filtered water from my fridge. So please consider this top notch coffee maker. It does coffee hot cold and specialty. If you also want expresso, get a little one to put beside it. I’ll leave a pic of my small space to show how much room you’d have. The ninja is a coffee master. The nespresso is an expresso master. ... show more

  • A solid and HOT cup of coffee
Style: Frother + Permanent Filter
I wanted the convenience of a pod but the option for a full pot. After quite a bit of research and a few disappointing returns i settled on the Ninja Dualbrew CFP307. While features were important to me, one thing stood above all else, the ability to make good coffee. As many of you might know a huge component of good coffee is hot water. I am happy to report that the CFP307 gets nice and hot. I was getting 198 on "rich" setting measuring right where the water drips out of the machine. This means the water may be even hotter when hitting the grounds. The "classic" setting was around 194. However not all ninja dualbrews are created equally apparently. I didnt realize but amazon has multiple modes all grouped together. When selecting the buying options it sounds like your just selecting if you want the additional milk froather and permanent filter but they are intact diffrent models. The first one i got was the CFP401A. That model lacked the independent water feature and the water temperature was coming out at low 180s. The models look nearly identical so be careful. One thing I do want to mention is the 307 is an upgrade over the 407 in nearly every way except 2 things, pot size and pod function. The 407 is 72oz and the 307 is a max of 55oz. The pod function on the 407 has 3 water spouts that puncture the pod where the 307 only has 1. At first I was really bummed about this. However after doing some research i found that ninja sells the pod adapter apparatus with the 3 water spouts on their website and its compatible with the 307. I haven't ordered it yet and it might be a marketing gimmick. Keurig was the first one to come out with "multistream" technology and it makes sense logically to me. More spouts puncture the pod alowing for water to more evenly cover the grounds in a pod which in turn means better extraction which makes a better cup of coffee. This might not matter to some people but I wanted to mention it. Overall I am very happy with the 307 it makes a very nice cup of coffee, its feature rich and good build quality. The ability to dispense clean water for tea or other drinks without it tasting like old coffee water is great. I like that the water reservoir is movable from side to back and while the froather doesnt heat it works well and is very easy to clean. If your in the market for a "dual" brewing machine I highly recommend checking out the Ninja 307 ... show more

  • Excellent Coffee Brewer
Style: Frother + Paper Filter
I've been using Keurigs for many years but when I ran across the CFP301 on sale, I was intrigued enough to give it a try. I really liked how you could set so many brew sizes and the ability to brew 1/4 carafe if I wanted a few cups without having to make two individual cups. I actually planned to use it mostly with reusable pods, like I've always done with my Keurigs, so I ordered a set that would work with this machine (most will not). The pods I bought look to be good quality, but I've never used them. I've been using pods for so long it never clicked that with a machine like this, using reusable pods makes no sense whatsoever. Just use a regular filter, add your coffee and set the brew size to the size cup you want. But there's more. Much more. With a Keurig or other pod-style machine, you are limited by the size of the pod. They can work a little magic by slow-walking the brew for a travel mug, but it was always weaker than a standard cup and there was little you could do to remedy it except for maybe brewing two pods into one cup. With the Ninja, I can simply adjust the amount of coffee and select the desired brew size. Done. Delicious. This machine, like all of the Ninja products I own, is well engineered. The moveable tank is a fantastic idea and is easy to use. The flip-down cup holder? Awesome! The foldable frother? Very cool, and the way you can just pop it off over the cup to take it to the sink is slick. Even the "smart" scoop is a very nice touch. Everything is so easy to use and convenient. The carafe is well designed and easy to clean. The insert for the carafe ensures the hottest coffee is circulated from the bottom up. Nice! I've had no issues with the temperature of my coffee. It has been nice and hot every time and the hot plate under the carafe makes sure it stays that way. When using a thermal travel mug, I'll either let it cool for a few minutes or plop a small piece of ice into it. It's hot. For filters, I am using Melitta #4 and folding the seams as recommended by Ninja. These are affordable, especially if you buy them in multi-packs. The result is delicious, ground-free coffee. I've read several reviews complaining about grounds in their coffee, but they don't mention their particular setup. Are they using a permanent filter? Pods? I don't know, but I'm not getting any and I'm not sure how I could using the paper filters. As for any negatives, which I feel compelled to include in any review, the only things I can think of are insignificant. The build quality is great, but it is a lot of plastic. For the price-point, it's definitely as good as I think one could reasonably expect. As long as it holds up to plenty of use, it looks good, works very well and I'm happy with it. I do wish there was a little capacitor to power the clock temporarily during brief power outages or if you unplug it for a few minutes. This is a tiny complaint, but I already have two other clocks on other appliances in my kitchen and it's a minor nuisance having to reset all these clocks every time the power blips. I haven't had the machine long enough to do a long-term review but if anything changes, I will update my review. So far, I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend it. Edit (11/2023): I've been using this coffee maker for five months now, and I would now be lost without it. I absolutely love the versatility. My most recent development was to dig out my old 34 oz. French press, which fits nicely under the filter basket. For the best, boldest coffee, I measure the proper amount of coffee into the press and add 24 oz. of hot water from the Ninja for my normal 2 12 oz. cups. Easiest way ever to use the press. If I need a whole pot or just quick cup, I just brew like normal. If someone has a favorite K-cup, the insert works as expected. Selecting the brew size for coffee or water has been consistent and accurate. I really, really love this coffee maker. ... show more
