Bolt head sits up too high, catching the bottom of the barn door. Ended up grinding down the outer retainer and using it as a guide in the center channel of the door bottom. Works fine. A redesign is needed.

These will work great for my new barn style sliding door. They are constructed good and easy to adjust. All the screw holes have a counter sink to them. Great product!

UPDATE: We ended up install a different type of door guides because of cats. But the builders said these were well made and would have worked. The reason for using the other type of guide was only because there was less room for the cats to smack the door against the guide. These are easy to install door floor guides, and look like they will do the job. I have another style that has a rollers that moves as the door goes past and I've decided that I will be using that style instead. But I can use these with another project, so not an issue. The current price is about $13 for the set of 2, which is a great price. The style I prefer will be about $10 for a single one. Wish I wasn't so picky. Hubby is happy with these, but he won't be cleaning the black marks that I anticipate showing up on the pure white door bottoms.

This is much better than using the slot that sometimes comes precut on the bottom of sliding barn doors. Some barn doors do not come with the precut bottom slot, that's where this comes in very handy. This guide eliminates the need for the bottom slot, and also eliminates the common rattle that comes from using the slot and plastic guide on the stock barn doors. It's so much smoother and quieter when sliding my door. It's super easy to adjust for a perfect fit on different thickness doors. It comes complete with a set of two heavy gauge adjustable steel barn door guides, two lengths of sticky back felt to apply onto the guides (the felt does a great job to cushion the door when it slides), 4 heavy black mounting screws. Very smooth when operating the door!!
