  • Perfect Replacement for ALL Genie Safe-T-Beam Openers
During a recent electrical storm, a close lightning strike took out a few electronic devices in and around our home. One thing I noticed was that my Genie garage door opener was no longer functioning. The light would come on but the door would not go up or down. I checked the little LED lights, located on the Safe-T-Beam sensors by the garage door, and noticed that the red LED was blinking in a reoccurring pattern. I went to the Genie website and checked their support page. I was delighted to find a useful troubleshooting guide, which utilizes the LED lights on the Safe-T-Beam sensors to diagnose potential problems with your Genie garage door opener. This handy troubleshooting guide can be found here: [...] The guide helped me determine that my opener motor and electronics were OK but one or both of my Safe-T-Beam sensors were bad and needed to be replaced. I almost purchased the replacement kit from the Genie website but decided to check Amazon.com first. I'm glad I did, as I found the exact same kit at a much lower price. The Genie 34094R Garage Door Opener Replacement Safe-T-Beam Kit is the same as the previous 35048R kit, and is the perfect replacement for every Genie garage door opener that utilizes the Safe-T-Beam sensors (all models manufactured from 1995 to current). This easy to install replacement kit includes the following items: - Both Infrared eyes/sensors (one with Red LED and one with Green LED) - Two Safe-T-Beam sensor mounting brackets - Bell wire for connecting sensors to opener unit (approx. 100 ft. of wire included) - Mounting hardware (screws, washers & nuts) for brackets and sensors - Installation instructions I did not need to replace the wire, as my previous wires were still in great shape. I found that I was not able to use my existing sensor mounting brackets, as the new Safe-T-Beam sensors had a slightly different mounting method. Luckily the 34094R kit comes with new mounting brackets (and everything else you would possibly need to install the new sensors). The installation instructions are very easy to read and understand, and provide several illustrations to help make the process simple. I had the new sensors installed in about 20 minutes and my Genie garage door opener was working perfectly once again. The 34094R Safe-T-Beam replacement kit is a genuine Genie service item and contains everything needed to replace the Safe-T-Beam sensors on all Genie garage door openers manufacturer on or after 1995. It is easy to install and works flawlessly. The cost is very reasonable and I highly recommend this product to anyone with a Genie opener that needs one or both Safe-T-Beam sensors replaced. ... show more

  • Perfect OEM replacement
Size: One Size Style: Genie Safety Beams
After a relative managed to recklessly destroy one of the OEM sensors, it was necessary to seek out a replacement. These were absolutely perfect. Installation took only minutes, and the end result was wonderful. Do not hesitate to purchase these Genie safety beam sensors.

  • Very easy to install!! Worked with my 1997 Genie opener.
Size: One Size Style: Genie Safety Beams
Easy to install!!!!!!! Took old sensors off and used the same holes in wall to mount new ones which made it easy to align. Took a total of 20 minutes to take old ones down and install new. Screws in the back to connect your 2 wires coming out of the wall. Not sure why I waited so long to do. My Genie garage door opener is from 1997 so it works with older models. ... show more

  • Perfect OEM Replacement, Easy to Install
Size: One Size Style: Genie Safety Beams
Perfect replacement for my Overhead Door Odyssey 1000 sensors. I just slipped the old (malfunctioning) transmitter off the bracket, switched over the wires to the new transmitter, and slipped the new one back onto the old bracket. As soon as it lined up with the other sensor, the red indicator light stopped flashing and the door now works perfectly. A simple 5 minute repair. This is an OEM (Genie) part, sealed and new in package. ... show more

  • These work but aftermarket ones (twice) didn't
Size: One Size Style: Genie Safety Beams
I had bought an aftermarket set through Amazon and both the red and green lite up fine and the door would go up but ever time the button was pushed it only wanted to go up. So I requested a replacement and got the same result. I started wondering if something was wrong with my opener but decide to spend more on these genuine Genie Brand Sensors. Cost was more than double that of the aftermarket but after putting these on, the door worked immediately in both directions. My openers are Genie 3024. ... show more

  • Authentic Genie sensors, but be a little careful with the mounting hardware.
Size: One Size Style: Genie Safety Beams
Look closely at the mounting hardware. In my case, the standoffs were much shorter than the ones I needed. Luckily, you could just switch the sensors from the supplied mounts to the existing mounts, such that all you needed for replacement was a Phillips screwdriver. If this will be an initial installation, confirm the length of the mounts will fit your application. (My existing mounts were adjustable to about twice the length of the supplie mounts.) That said, the replacement sensors worked great, and were an easy swap. I was worried they might be knock-offs, given how hard they pushed that they were real Genie, but they were not lying - the are real Genie replacements. I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Easy to install, works perfectly
Size: One Size Style: Genie Safety Beams
This is an OEM replacement for all Genie brand garage door openers built since 1993. One reviewer ranked this with a single star as he stated what he received was not as represented in the photo. I cannot say whether or not this was true, but I can say that what I received was exactly what was represented by the photo in the listing. I simply unscrewed the inoperative safety beams (photo sensors), disconnected the wiring, used the same screws and the same screw holes in the replacement units, reconnected the wiring, and immediately had a properly operating garage door opener. I should also note that this is a newer design than the defective ones I replaced. They are physically different and actually feel more substantial than the units these replaced. Also, they use philips head screw terminals rather than the less reliable push-in connections on the old units. They have a self diagnosis code that tells you if something is amiss. I cannot review that feature as they worked instantly after installation. Lastly, this is a very, very easy DIY project. Took me all of 10 minutes to do the job, and since where I live, today the temperature outside is below zero and I had to have the door open to get enough light to work in, that was a very welcome bonus. If you know which end of a philips head screwdriver fits in the screw terminals, you have the necessary skills to do the job. Incidentally, if your overhead door will go up, but will only go down if you hold the button down on the wired controller continuously for the door to close, most likely the safety beams, or their wiring, is the problem. Don't use the remote controls to try this...they won't close the door no matter what. That's a safety feature. Very, very happy. Good price, quality product, fast delivery. ... show more

  • A. Really. Easy. Fix.
Size: One Size Style: Genie Safety Beams
A couple of months ago our garage door opener started acting up. The door would go down for a few feet, but then immediately reverse direction. My initial reaction was that the transmitter & receiver had gotten out of alignment, but it didn't take long to realize that the alignment wasn't the issue - based on the system design, having the transmitter & receiver in the same zip code would probably work. So I did the unthinkable - I took out the manual for the garage door opener and learned that the receiver (red LED) could pretty much tell you what the problem was by simply interpreting the number of flashes. (Did I mention that I have an MSEE?) Based on the blinking pattern of the LED, the problem: interference - probably due to sunlight impinging on the sensor. So I tried a couple of things to isolate the sensor (e.g. toilet paper roll), but it only worked intermittently. We got to the point where we could only close our garage door after sunset. Definitely UNSAT. So I (finally) figured that the sensor and/or transmitter may be the problem. They were installed over a decade ago, so perhaps their performance had started to degrade. That's when I (finally) ordered the replacement sensor & transmitter. It arrived a month ago and I finally got around to installing it today. Installation took 20 minutes. It was simply a matter of disconnecting the wires from the old units, uninstalling the old units/brackets, reconnecting the wires, and reinstalling the new units/brackets. I knew I'd made the right decision when the receiver LED glowed solid red. And the new brackets were perfectly aligned with the old brackets, so I didn't even need to drill new holes or use new screws. And the culmination of the event? I pushed the button to close the door and it closed. Period. The first time. ... show more
