    • Great saw for what it is
Style: 14" Lightweight Chainsaw Kit
This saw is great for what it is. It has the power to cut what you need to cut and is easy to handle due to its lighter weight. The easy access to chain tensioning and bar/chain removal makes this easy to adjust and work on without any other tools. I would not recommend this saw for bigger trees due to its size. The battery would die very quickly.. but it can absolutely cut most things a regular household user would need to cut. The battery life is where I think it is crucial to purchase a second battery so that you can rotate them out as you're working. I got about an hour of runtime out of my saw, which isn't terrible but I would have liked to continue on a little longer. That is where the quick 15 minute charge is nice, but I would still like to be able to pop another battery in and keep at it. Overall, this is a GREAT saw for the money and I would definitely recommend. ... show more

    • Great little chainsaw for around the yard
Style: 14" Lightweight Chainsaw Kit

I am very pleased with my first chainsaw. It's light, easy to maneuver, and cuts well. I used it to cut down overgrown yew bushes that had turned into trees - branches 3-5" diameter, and trunks 8- 10" diameter. The battery runs at least an hour. That's about how long my battery lasts, too, so it works for me. I knew that chainsaws needed bar oil (hardware or home improvement store). I bought a bigger bottle but later figured out the small bottle would be fine for my yard projects. Note: I didn't realize that chainsaws often release a little bit of the bar oil when you turn it off. Be careful where you set it. Once I got through the warnings to not use it in a swimming pool, or cut the branch you're standing on, the rest of the directions about safe operation were very helpful. I have to say, this chainsaw was very empowering for this 65 year old woman! Here, hold my beer... ;-) ... show more

    • Nice saw - needs a larger Ahr battery or you will need multiple batteries
Style: 14" Lightweight Chainsaw Kit
I REALLY like that I no longer need to mess with a 2-cycle chain saw - no mess, no smoke and push button operation. Blades have held up well so far. I am concerned about the ability of the battery to support the saw to cut up a whole medium-size tree. Thus far I have only done trimming and limited log breakdowns to firewood lengths, and the battery has done OK, but this is the same battery I have for the grass edger / weed whip and one battery really only barely lasts long enough for me to do my edging. Fortunately, the batteries are interchangeable (as long as they are Skil PWRCore 40 units of which I have several tools and their batteries. ... show more

    • really impressed first electric one.
Style: 14" Lightweight Chainsaw Kit
I had a tree come down in my yard after the first real snowstorm this past winter, so this was definitely a needed purchase. I was honestly impressed with how much power it had. I’ve only ever used gas chainsaws before, so I was a little skeptical at first, but this thing worked like a charm. The size was perfect for the job, and being electric, it wasn’t nearly as loud as what I’m used to. The battery performance was surprisingly good, too. I also appreciate that it includes many of the same safety features as gas models while staying completely gas‑free. Overall, I’m really glad I bought it. ... show more

    • Great product. Great price
Style: 14" Lightweight Chainsaw Kit
Honestly suprised with the power it has. Doesn't seem to Bog when cutting. Easy to use and change batteries. The life of the battery is quite surprising as well. Also easy to remove the bar and adjust the chain. If you dont use a chainsaw often, this would be a great investment.

    • Powerful and lightweight
Style: 14" Lightweight Chainsaw Kit
It is powerful and lightweight. While the battery doesn't last very long, having two batteries solves this because they charge so quickly, allowing you to work for hours. I also purchased a SKIL pole saw that uses the same battery. By the way, the SKIL chainsaw is an excellent product as well.

    • Great home yard chainsaw
Style: 14" Lightweight Chainsaw Kit
I love my new chainsaw. Easy to use. I don't have to worry about gas. Between this and my 6" chainsaw we can trim all of our trees and shrubs as needed.

    • Keep away from this brand if you live in Puerto Rico!!
Style: 14" Lightweight Chainsaw Kit
This item worked well, although I was disappointed in how short the operating time was on a full battery charge (about a half hour). However, after the second charge, the charger stopped charging the battery. I tried to call the customer-service number, but was told that the call could not be completed from my dialing area. ( I live in Puerto Rico.) I looked up the company on-line and found a number for a shop that was supposed to be in San Juan, PR. I called it and got Trinidad! I Googled the company and asked for a way to communicate with them other than by telephone. I was given an e-mail address that I wrote to. They responded that the address was for Skil skin-care products, not power tools. So this is a warning: do not buy this product or any Skil product if you live in Puerto Rico. ... show more
