Put 2 of these with a skar 1200w mono in a Qpower box for my 2005 f250, sound great. Not JL audio quality but they are punchy, get pretty low especially for a pre built box and beginner/mid range skar amp. Overall gave me the bass I wanted in my truck, not overwhelming rattling windows but definitely feel it. Have purchased higher model skars previously they will give you much much deeper and louder bass. But it you just want something decent not overwhelming you found the right sub ... show more

I've owned mostly 10s and 12s. This was my 1st 8in sub. As you can see I have it mounted in a truck box to save space, since I use my van to haul things and didn't wanna hassle with big box. Powered by Skars 350.1 amp. My van is a Toyota Sienna and this little sub fills it with great pass. I will probably upgrade to Skars 10 or 12in in their box down the line but for now this is awesome. One thing to note I had to file this box down to fit subwoofer into. Box is a 10inch Goldwood truck box. Gives great bass in my van but in a smaller car or single cab truck like it's meant for this sub would really shine! ... show more

These SUBS HIT – Great Upgrade for My F-150! I bought a used 2020 Ford F-150 with no premium sound, and needed something to bring the music to life. Started with one 8" sub in a sealed box powered by an RP 800.1D amp (I went with the white marine version—looks clean). It was decent at 4 ohms, but after 20 years away from the audio scene, I knew I needed more. I added a second 8" dual 2-ohm Skar sub and dropped the load to 2 ohms using their prefabbed ported box. WORLD of difference. This setup absolutely hits—tight, clean, and loud for 8s. I double-checked everything on the Skar website to make sure it all matched up, and the results speak for themselves. My dad enjoys the deeper sound, my wife loves the added fullness to the music, and most importantly—my 17-year-old son now begs to drive my truck just for the system. Install was easy, the box fits perfectly under the rear seat and looks factory. Multiple people have seen it and couldn’t believe it wasn’t stock. This sub, amp, and box combo slaps no matter what genre you play. If you're looking for solid bass fill and don’t want to break the bank, this setup is 100% worth it. I used a pair of these 10’s for a install in a 3rd generation Tacoma (2021 TRD sport) behind the rear seat. The box was a pretty tight fit and had 5.5 inches of depth available for the baskets. The also do extremely well in a small sealed enclosure. I added about 10-12oz of poly fill (so much poly fill.. like a pillow sized clump) to improve the Q of the enclosure. Since these are dual 4 ohm voice coil subs I was able to put a 1OhM load to the amplifier maximizing bang for the buck w/ the amp. Since they have dual VCs they can handle quiet a bit of power compared to the very popular pioneers. I am lowering with a soundstrem 4500.d which is probably 2000ish watts at 1OhM so gains are turned down. It hits about 110-112 decibels playing bass heavy music. Overall I was able to do the subs, box,LOC, 80hz filters for stock speakers, amp and wiring for ~about 500 dollars. A very good value for the sound quality and sound pressure. It's a very good speaker. I stuck it into the stock enclosure of my ford explorer, I drilled with a hole saw and cut with a hot knife to enlarge the opening and then packed some sound insulating materials in there, and used some giant structural screws to fasten it down tight. Then I put the enclosure in the space for it in the back, ran the wires, and put more structural screws through the vehicle and enclosure. I packed more sound insulation into any hollow space within a few feet of the speaker, and then injected it with a high density expanding polyurethane foam. I welded a shield for it since my tools are always smacking around back there and the stock cover didnt fit since the speaker was larger than the stock one. I slammed some more structural screws in the shield, and then went around the rest of the car and tidied up any rattling plastic crap by either ripping it off or sending a screw through it. Sounds like a top quality sound system. I can play music at the highest volume setting and it sounds so clean and crisp and absolutley booming. It might not be the prettiest installation(its literally a work truck), but that wasn't the goal. The performance is first and foremost and I think i nailed that. ... show more
