  • My skar 10" 1200W SDR sub and amp kit sounds great
Size: Single 10" D2 Package With Amplifier
I just installed this myself and so far it sounds great. Install was pretty easy, hardest part was figuring out how to run the power wire thru the firewall. A couple youtube vids helped. But it hits pretty hard when turned up, not enough to wake the neighborhood or win any competitions. But perfect if your stock car audio just needs a little more bump to it. Also it doesn't show it in the pictures but it does come with a remote bass knob. Connecting to a factory head unit you will need to buy a Line Out Converter(LOC). I bought the scosche LOC80 and jumped it from one car speaker and used the rca cables provided in the skar sub and amp kit to hook it up. Worked perfectly and was cheap. The sub and amp look great and I hope it lasts a long time. Might need to get some sound deadening material for the trunk or some rubber bushings to put behind the license plate to keep it from rattling. 👌 Installed In a 2019 Toyota Camry Se ... show more

  • Bought for my Son....Should have bought for myself.....now i had too.
Size: Single 12" D2 Loaded Enclosure with Ampli...
I have a 2023 Sonata Limited i just bought and had given my 2019 Atlima Sv to my son who just went off to college. The sonata Bose system is better than most factory stereos i have had, but still not perfect and bass was lacking majorly. I am 57 and didnt need a rattle the mirrors off bass i had thought. so i bought a 250w powered 10" Bazooka ( with LC2i to add the bass back at volume) and had it installed. the stereo finally had good character and the sub filled in the missing high lows and lows. but i thought..."maybe it needs a touch more" so i added the 10" satellite tube. car sounded good for an old guy. Then the bad happened. My son came home and i let him hear my car and he loved it. it came soon that look so i told him we would do something with the Altima. I read reviews and with him 18 i knew he would want deeper and heavier, so i ordered him the 12" SDR kit. We installed this last weekend ourselves. it did take us about 5 hours with opening the interior up, making a well designed board to mount the the back of the rear seat and the pain was the power lead ( Nissan has a double sided grommet and it fought us getting that 4 awg lead through without popping out of the firewall. We got the amp and leads wired in, tapped the LH/RH rear speaker leads (soooo much easier than the Sonata i can see), added in the LC2i and fired it up to set gain. OMG. within 15 seconds, with an underpowered gain, i already knew the Bazooka tubes were getting pulled out of my Sonata. Th e SDR box was hitting stunning lows. i had set the LC2i using 7/8th of stereo volume and tuning the gain there till maximized then backed off a touch. I used a cheap 30 dollar amazon bough oscilloscope and tuned the amp gain. set the subsonic to the calculated 27 hz. not quite sure where we want hi pass set yet but have it at about 100. Bass EQ sw at zero as specified by Skar. Then we played my Song in his car off spotify. Pink Floyd "Time" at about a 50% volume and the remote bass dial turned back to about 40%. after the clocks ringing i wasnt sure what to expect, but when that first Bass Guitar note hit.....OMG. The rear view mirror was unusable. the drivers side and passenger side mirrors were shaking....and with my son outside to hear, it sounded like the license plate was grinding into the trunk lid :) ( fived that with a piece of thin velcro's on foam pad that we stole from the Skar shipping box. that second bass guitar hit had me giggling. the 3rd? i made return requests on Amazon to return the bazooka tubes. we played all sorts of genres and it sounded awesome. i was so blown away that i ordered the 12" EVL kit ( had to order something hopefully better than what i just gave my son) for the Sonata and will be pulling out the dealer installed bazooka wiring, and adding it as soon as it arrives. 12 out of 10 on my expectations of what i thought the SDR 12 kit would be like. Faults? power cable is a tad short as given so i had to change my preferred amp location. the fuse block was a tad cheaper than the 8awg Kicker install harness i used on the sonata. no shield over the sub, so plan on ordering some sort of shield/cage like we did to prevent a piece of luggage sliding in the trunk and tearing it. thats it. it is awesome. ... show more

  • this kit is built to fail!!!
Size: Single 12" D2 Loaded Enclosure with Ampli...
this kit is built to fail and when you try to return it, you have to pay $90 shipping. The sub cannot handle the amperage it has with it. So it blows the speakers and you have to replace it. There are several reviews people saying it's smoking, etc. It literally ends up melting the box. It's a fire hazard. Read reviews before purchasing this!!! I smelled smoke and thankfully got it out of my car before it caught fire ... show more

  • Very pleased with this decision...
Size: Single 12" D2 Loaded Enclosure with Ampli...
I’ve always had a aftermarket stereo and subs in my vehicles. I’ve used brands like Rockford Fosgate, Blaupunkt, JL, Alpine and Keenwood and paid the high prices associated. However this is my first single sub setup. I originally planned on using one of the subs I already have and started looking at single enclosures and a smaller amp to power one sub. The reason behind down sizing was do to my new car. I bought a 2020 Honda Civic Sport which is a hatchback. I didn’t want to take up the entire hatch and I wanted to save my ear drums for later on down the road. After some research I decided to buy an entire new setup and went with the Skar Audio 12 preloaded sub setup that included the amp and wiring. I did the install using the factory touchscreen head unit with a Keenwood LOC. I’m very pleased with this setup. I listen to all types of music and this setup handles it all, its tight when it needs to be and hits hard when it has to. Remember it’s in a hatchback and I’m in the same cabin as the sub the sound fills the area. After letting it break I turned it up and it will definitely shake mirrors and you will feel it in your chest it sounds great. Also I like the bass control knob that comes with the amp so I can adjust it without having to mess with the stereo settings. I definitely recommend this package to anyone with a hatchback or a SUV. It’s more than enough. I would probably suggest a double sub enclosure to someone with a trunk. For the price I really couldn’t go wrong I feel the quality is worth it also. ... show more
