This little guy thumps... I have it wired to a 1-ohm load connected to a Skar mono block 800-watt RMS amp... Please note the speaker is 600 watts RMS, and it's always better to have more power from your amp than you need; just turn the gain down... It's pretty incredible how good it sounds in the vented Skar SPL box. I put it under the helm of my boat, and you would think I have two 12's in it. You would be hard-pressed to find a better value for your money. ... show more

I've had this sub for 2 weeks now. I'm past the recommended break in period, and damn.. for a single 8", this thing KNOCKS! I got the 2ohm DVC model, wired to 1ohm running on the CT Sounds 7001d. The gain is at half and so is the volume knob for most music, and it consistently wows me. Now, a couple notes. I have this in a crew cab truck on the floor behind the driver's seat firing up in the Skar carpeted 8" box. The box is tuned to 40hz and the sub is recommended for a box tuned to 32hz with a little more cu. ft. so I'm probably not even getting the best sound quality, but I got the box because it fits perfectly where I wanted it to. I am considering a better box, but as of now I'm basically completely satisfied. That being said, the Skar box came without notches for the subs connection posts so I had to modify the opening a little, and the speaker wire coming from the box terminal was too short to reach the sub so I had to replace it, which required pulling the terminal out, and removing the wires that were soldered on. Those issues are with the box though, not the sub. ... show more

This 8 puts out the Lows of 2-12’s easily and it fits perfectly in the Skar SPL 8 enclosure tuned and ported to 40 hz if slams very impressive pm the skar 800 running 1200 max at 1 ohm mono with skar 4 gauge kit
