The frame and roofing system is engineered to be maintenance free - no rust, rot or peel, and will support snow loads up to 15.4 lbs/sq. ft. and wind speeds up to 75 MPH. The solar gray roof panels are made of virtually unbreakable corrugated polycarbonate that blocks 100% of harmful UV rays while providing 10% light transmission. A built-in gutter system diverts water away from the structure. For areas prone to severe winds or heavy snowfall, additional detachable support poles are available. Carport had detailed directions that were easy to follow and although site had obstacles to overcome; eg. 2-55" x 27.5" x 23.5" holes had to be excavated in existing driveway that had 8 inch thick concrete I needed to have cut out first. I'm happy with results, it looks exactly like the picture on Amazon. I took photo's while project was taking place and attached them to review, hope they help if you decide to proceed with the Palram 5000 Wave carport. ... show more

There are no engineering documents so I was unable to get a permit for this. The manufacturer is in Israel and is of no assistance whatsoever. It deserves a single star but is very good looking.

Received all parts well packed. Assembly instructions (32 pages) were exceptionally well done. Counterweight/support base is large ... don't underestimate the large footings both digging and filling with concrete/some heavy boulders. Assembled by myself, but that's not recommended by PALRAM. Had to be creative and use a number of clamps to hold pieces until they could be bolted together. Don't often write reviews, but this deserves a positive because price is reasonable and it looks stylish. ... show more
