I don't like how this doesn't have approved status for apps like Disney+, Netflix, etc so that took some getting used to but overall it's a very good alternative to the Shield. I do like how it has a mouse cursor button. I'll probably keep the Shield for the approved streaming apps but this one will be dedicated to things like Plex or other home streaming servers. It's very fast and responsive and Bluetooth appears to be far more stable than the Shield. ... show more

I use this device mainly for my Plex media server within my home. I have 50-60GB 4k movie files in all kinds of codecs including AV1. This device handles these files bit for bit with no quality loss and no stutter. A perfect transfer. The sound quality is greatly improved with DTS X/ DTS Master HD and TruHD/Atmos passthrough. Most media players like the latest apple 4k can't passthrough these advanced decodings. It's a beautiful device and gets frequent updates including firmware updates from the manufacturer. The interface such as the menus can be a bit confusing and you have to go into the settings a tweak a few things. Highly customizable hight recommended! ... show more

So if you are looking to stream Netflix, youtube or prime do not buy this, it defaults to 1080p or in the case of youtube it defaulted tio 720p, i learned it not Google certified, sadly I am sending this back without delay,

I purchased this Ugoos sk1 8k streaming divice it's good picture quality but it's not supported Netflix, and apple tv and Amazon prime video Hotstar and sound not supporting Dolby Atmos

Outstanding quality, specifications and performance for this streaming device, which works on the open Android 11 operating system. This allows for maximum freedom for set up and loading your favorite open source applications. Loads of RAM and internal memory. Extra large heat sink should dissipate heat buildup within the processor, but because of vents only located on the bottom of the plastic box, it should have a cooling fan to keep internal heat at an acceptable level. Other than that, this streaming device is top shelf. Reseller here needs to think about lowering their selling price. This is on other websites at up to $55 less. Some reviewers complain about lack of support for high definition resolution for some premium services, (Netflix, etc.), but most smart tvs allow you to load premium services directly onto them so this really isn’t an issue. ... show more
