I was torn as to whether or not I should have purchased this Simpli-Magic trash can. Well, so far I am glad I did. Can you actually be in love with a garbage can? Well I am. This beauty, with its dual functionality is a gem. The size is perfect for my average size one bedroom NYC apt. Many people were complaining about the installation of the bags. Many do not know how to seamlessly accomplish this task. There are two holes in each bin. One at the top and the other at the bottom. The bags should be pulled through. The top from the outside while giving it a few twists, and the bottom pushed out from the inside. When pulled in concert with each other, they will all allow the bags to have a perfect fit allowing the bins lids to close securely. And lastly, the added charcoal or fragrance compartment to combat odor is a bonus. The bin was adequately packaged for shipment and arrive flawlessly. Any developed problems I will do an up date. I love, love it. One minor flaw. Simpli-Magic did not need to place their large company logo on each lid. It is my intention to cover them with a “TRASH & RECYCLE” stickers. This, however, does not take away from its beauty and functionality. Fingerprint resistant is questionable.

Love the look of this trash can and the functionality for holding both trash and recycle. The only problem I'm having is I have no clue what trash bag works best here. I bought 8 gallon bags, but the bin itself is so deep that the bag just dangles. Seems like there is a bit of wasted space. If you put anything too heavy in the bag it slips off the sides and falls into the can. Ideally I'd like to not have to buy special bags for this can, but I think I might need to.

Moved into apt with open concept feel to kitchen. There was limited spaces where I can put bins for garbage and recycling. This unit was perfect! The foot pedals and lids were quiet. On each lid, there appears to be a spot for those order absorbing filters too.Plus, it looks great between front door and kitchen cabinet. The exterior closely resembled my fridge’s exterior. I also go magnetic labels to identify which one was for garbage vs. recycling.

It's funny to receive compliments on a garbage can but believe it or not, I am receiving many compliments on this. I just moved into a new place with little space under my sink for a plastic garbage can. Thus I needed to purchase something that "everyone" would see. After reading many reviews, I am so appreciative of reviewers of this garbage can. I like that it is quite large for both garbage and recycling. I don't produce a lot of garbage but lots of recycling. It does fit traditional garbage bags and definitely listen to videos of how to put the bag around the edges so they stay put but the lid will close. The lid is great because unlike other brands, the lids don't hit the counter behind. They have a gentle opening and closing. A big plus. Other reviewers complained about other brands constantly hitting the back of the counter when opening. I did purchase stickers for the cans to distinguish between trash and recycling (from Amazon that look very nice). I never knew people would be so excited about my garbage recycling can but it is happening.

Like most of the other reviewers Commented, mine arrive with a small dent also. You would think the seller would protect the edges of the product with all the reviews of dents reported when the product arrives. I really like the product and am not returning it since the dent is minor and is on an unseen side. It holds more than I thought it would, although I have had to push the recycling down to make more room. My previous trash can was 13 gallons.
