I'm a minimalist and did not want a trash can on our bathroom counter. The dilemma I faced was that our new house has a separate room for the toilet and the only floor space that fits our regular sized bathroom trash. Having tidied up my partner's floss, Qtips and a myriad of other crap left on our bathroom vanity, I finally caved to his request and researched a mini trash can for the counter top. I have to say that this little guy has grown on me and we fill it up way more frequently than the one in the WC. It's sleek, the lid swings open and closed smoothly, it's easy to pop off the lid to empty it and the stainless steel look is minimal enough for it to almost disappear in the room. I don't bother lining it for sustainability reasons -- it doesn't get dirty enough to warrant it but could easily be wiped out with a Clorox wipe if it got gross. One note on their claim to be "smudge proof" -- I do occasionally see finger prints on it but they're easy to wipe away. The same happens with all of our stainless steel appliances, can't avoid it. I debated buying one for our laundry room to collect lint and used dryer sheets but realized that was a *want, not a need* -- we have so many Amazon boxes around the house that I've repurposed an old little one for the laundry room receptacle. ... show more

The title and description is VERY misleading. This product is NOT stainless steel. It's a plastic bucket with a stainless steel sheathe surrounding it for esthetics. I expected the lid to be plastic, but for $30 I thought the container itself would be stainless. In my opinion, it's not worth the price. Returned. ... show more

I’m a huge Simple Human fan. Their products are usually stylish and well made and very functional. This little can is a rare miss. I bought it for used pods next to the Keurig, and that’s how we’re using it, but it doesn’t work as designed. Whatever you use this for know that the swinging lid makes the top half of the can useless. That gives you maybe 4” of useful space. The top of the can is almost nearly impossible to take off to empty. It’s not just me, man hands boyfriend can’t get it open either. So for pods, stacking more than two high blocks the lid, and since you can’t get the top off you have to back them out the stuck by pods swinging lid. No one wants to spend five minutes dumping their used pods. We ended up taking the lid off, which works but reduces the look considerably. I’d look for a different brand, either just open or with a flip top lid and probably save a bunch of $$. ... show more

I love my little SimpleHuman garbage can, and have it right next to my Keurig center. It is great for throwing pods away, but doesn’t hold many. I don’t mind emptying it every couple of days. The only downfall with every SimpleHuman product is their prices are so high. I watched for this product’s price to fall, and when it did, purchased it, but even then it was expensive. As a crafter, I tried some other mini-trash cans, but they had sharp edges. The Simple Human mini trash cans have a smooth, safe edge. The lid is well made and easy to remove.
