The media could not be loaded. This is a solid trashcan if you are looking for one that will help you remember to recycle ! I thought that maybe the trashcan would be too small and fill up within one day but it’s usually good for 2-3 days depending on how much I’m cooking. It looks like appliance rather than a trashcan. It is so convenient, too. The extra products, the deodorizer and special bags are an extravagance but make life so much simpler. It's hard to believe but I've actually invited friends over to see the new addition to my kitchen --- it's gotten rave reviews! The lid opening is beyond smooth. Having a place for both trash and recyclables is handy. I buy Super human trash cans all the time. I also order the bags. This one is defective. The top doesn’t auto close. Doesn’t sound like a big problem. But it is. Trash exposed. Dogs get into it. Causes house to smell like trash.

I replaced my cheaper dual compartment trash/recycling can with this and I am very happy with it. The foot pedal is very sturdy, the compartments are of good size, and I appreciate the deodorizer. The trashbag dispenser is also convenient. It is expensive, but used so often. I recommend this trash can to anyone hesitant. Yes, cheaper ones can do the job, but I believe this trash can is worth the price because it seems durable and even somewhat luxurious. ... show more

I bought a similar trash can from another popular brand. The things this had over the other are the handle on the recyclables bin, bag storage, and the bag overhang concealment. I never used the recyclables bin on my previous can because it was such a hassle to remove. The lip that conceals the bag may seem minor to some but seeing the plastic bag sticking out drives me nuts. The only thing preventing me from giving 5 stars is the for pod fell into the first trash load . I didn’t even notice until I went to replace the bag. I don’t think it’s too big a deal since I have never had one of those contraptions actually reduce odor. All in all, I am satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

Let me set the scene: I used to think our old trash/recycling setup was fine. My husband, however, hated it with fiery passion. The bins were awkward, the bags impossible to remove without dragging the whole thing out, and worst of all—he never remembered to put a new bag in afterward. I thought this simplehuman trash can was overpriced nonsense… until it went on sale. Now? It looks great, the bags come out easily, and thanks to the built-in bag holder, my husband actually puts a new bag in every time—without being reminded. We both don’t mind taking out the trash anymore. Honestly, this thing might’ve saved us from weekly arguments and potential marriage counseling.
