I hesitated to order this because I didn't want to spend a lot on a trash can. It is so worthwhile though and makes my life easier several times a day. Its very well constructed, attractive and locks to keep new puppy out. Garbage bags fit perfectly and never slide down so food doesn't fall into the bottom of the can. Great garbage can! Sturdy and locks really well. It’s sometimes hard to unlock but for us it’s more essential that it’s hard to get into for little babies. Holds a full sized trash bag and is easy to clean or wipe down if needed.

My Beautiful Trash Can was there awaiting me on my door step during a Winter Blizzard ;-) The Trash can was well packaged and sealed along with a box of Tall Glad Trash Bags to try it out. Although, they do provide a few free ones for advertising that may cost a little more to use with the trash can, until you can get some at the local store (Glad Tall 13 Gallon Bags) and I would get them their instead of on Amazon because while convient, the price you can get them in the store is about the same as on Amazon, but with twice as many in the box. There are lots of good buys too when you buy the bigger boxes, no real need to get the Simple Human Bags, but it was nice to try them. The Can is really rugged. Took a nice grapple of the edges to lock the lid into place. The lock on front works really well too and I really like the step to lift up the lid. It is the first time I have ever had one like this. I chose the Moca Colored can. It was a good choice, others did too, so it was approximately $5.00 more, but I think the color compliments the kitchen better. I LOVE the Trash Can, and the best part is that it included is a 5 year warranty or the Simple Human Companies PROMISE ! Which guarentees you another new can if ever you should need one. I look at it like I have invested in a product that if it does faulter, I get double my money back in trash can. So now the can really only cost $25 which is almost what one in the store would cost, a cheap ole piece of crap, I'm very pleased with my new trash can, sometimes you need to pay a little more for a decent product and after counting the cost, the bags you can buy in the store, make sure they are the Tall 13 Gallon Trash Bags from Glad, you will be Glad you did, no pun intended. The bigger the box, the greater the saving on bags, has a lock to keep animals like Tapers out, Amber's Cat reviewed left on the Black Can although she bought her's through the company so she could get a Christmas Card with her's for her cat after assisting the Thanksgiving Turkey out to the livingroom likely to watch some TV and have a few chicken wings ;-) The bones left on the floor did the cat in. I think Tapers must have been a male cat ??? Keeps kids out of the can. So softly closes for the midnight raid of the fridge when hungry. It is nice and sturdy, 5 year warranty, a real Promise I say. Rest Assure, no one will give you a warranty like that if they don't think their can is up to snuff. Can't make money giving can's away, can you ? So I say get the can by all means, make it mocha because I do believe it will show less dirt. Love my can, something Great besides a Blizzard today. So happy to have a new trash can, a Simplehuman trash can ! Even if I bought it myself ;-)

This trash can has been a life saver for us. We adopted a dog that had been starved and neglected and needless to say, he is pretty obsessive about food, food smells, etc. He also has severe food allergies so he can't eat a morsel of something outside his strict diet. After he got into the trash a few weeks ago, we decided to try this trash can to keep him out of the garbage. So far, he hasn't gotten into the garbage with this can. Its well built, sturdy and reliable with the locking mechanism. Our traditional trash bags fit the can well and it is well made. Highly recommend this product to keep your trash locked. Is great for pets and children.

Good looking trash can. Seems sturdy. Lid closes slowly and oedal ooens it nicely. The lock is very stiff. I may try lubing it it make it easier to lock/unlock. Comes with 5yr warranty you need to register for. Midel number is on bottom on a sticker. Costco 13g trash bag fits nicely. Has a bar you fold up in the back to keep the can away from wall or cabinet so lid opens without hitting. Overall, a very nice can. Id give 5 stars if the lock wasnt so stiff.

Even though my wife and I have been married for 35 years, we still disagree about things around the house. One of those disagreements had to do with the waste basket we used in the kitchen. Me, being the slob around the house, my main pre-requisite for a trash is that it is available, and convenient. This means it cannot be in a cabinet and it cannot have a lid that I have to open with my hands every time. Sometimes using my hands to open a lid isn't practical, or possible. My wife on the other hand, feels that a lid on the trash can is very important. Understandably so because it covers the unsightly trash and it reduces the odors that will sometimes emanate from the trash in the can. However, if I'm carrying something that requires two hands, or my hands have food residue on them, the cover on a trash can drives me nuts. So, the only reasonable option for us was to find a trash can with the foot actuated lid. That sounds much easier than it really was. We searched for months but could not find one that was practical. Most were flimsy and I knew would not hold up very long. Also, all of the ones we looked at were too small and so would require too many bag changes. If we did find one that was big enough and sturdy, it would be way too expensive. Finally one day my wife told me she had ordered a foot operated trash can from Amazon. When it came I was AMAZED. This trash can is perfect in EVERY way. Even though the unit is made from some kind of plastic material, it is sturdy. The frame around the bottom is a solid steel as is the pedal that you step on to open the lid. In addition to sturdy, this trash can is big. it is a perfect size for a kitchen and our "Tall Kitchen" trash bags just fit. The band of the bag folds over the top edges and stays in place until it is time to remove the full bag and replace it. The final feature which earns this trash can the title of "World's Perfect Kitchen Trash Can" is that for those times when you have several things to put in the can, or you are peeling vegetables into the can and you want the lid to stay open, it will. If you open the lid with your hand, instead of your foot, the lid will stay open. That feature is pure genius. We have had this trash can for a year now and I'm still as impressed with it as I was at the beginning. Nothing has malfunctioned or shown any signs of wear yet. Pros: 1. Well built, very sturdy construction 2. Good size, fits a standard tall kitchen trash bag 3. Great design and veratility: - Lid opens smoothly with foot pedal - Lid closes smoothly using air dampening technology -Lid will stay open if opened all the way by hand 4. Proves once again that my wife is a genius Cons: NONE This trash can truly is a marvel and I congratulate this company on a fine product.
