  • This works great in my outdoor fountain.
Size: 400 GPH
This pump is just what I needed for my back yard fountain. I hate to get down and clean the pump out when it gets clogged. I have to do that about once a year with this pump. It will quit working and I will take it apart and clean the debris out of it. I found, as others did, that taking out the filter lengthened the amount of time between cleanings. • Runs like a champ
Size: 800 GPH
Man this thing puts out some water! Holy cow! For it's size, it be mighty! It's pumping ask the way up to my waterfall, about 5.5 feet total with horizontals, and sound 2x the volume of my previous much bigger pump. Super happy. It does slow after a bit, but I solved that with a filter box.

  • for longevity I have not had the pump in service a month
Size: 660 GPH
Its a good pump. The only feature the pump does not have is an adjustable suction side cover to increase or decrease flow volume.

  • Nice pump though not sure why I picked it.
Size: 400 GPH
Looking back at the reviews I am realizing that maybe this pump wasn't meant for me in the first place... everybody references "outdoor" or "their pond". Why that didn't give it away before i bought it I don't know. Either way; it's a nice pump; it pumps and it pumps well. I use it inline. nice to have varying fittings come with it and super easy to set up. Now here's the thing. I use it INSIDE, INLINE and OUT of water; which it should be able to do perfectly fine... and it does. but IT IS SO LOUD! I don't know whether to describe it as world's largest mosquito flying around or what but the thing is SO LOUD that the sound bounces off my walls and i couldn't figure out at first what direction the humming was coming from! The pump is on its rubber suction cups which should dampen the sound. The hosing I use is ULTRA flexible so should be absorbing vibration and sound as well but... it doesn't. It's not up against anything to enhance vibration noise; it's fully free standing. For good measure I picked it up; no difference. I turned it upside down a couple of times hoping there might be an air pocket in it or somethings; no difference. Now, do I have super sensitive ears? maybe... but I also use a rainbar which drops water from four inches above the water down into the water so there's continuous water sound... this pump totally blocks out that sound. if I listen veeeeery carefully I can sort of still hear the water... I imagine this is what tinnitus sounds like. So you might ask whether my expectations were realistic... no idea. I'll say this though; this aquarium is equipped with FOUR pumps, only one of which is submerged and pumps 300GPH. I don't hear it but I suppose being in the water helps, then there's a small canister pump pushing 95GPH; also can't hear that but it's comparatively small. Then there's a 570GPH (!) pump; inline, no rubber feet or anything; and I promise you I have to touch it to make sure it's actually running! Admittedly that pump also has a downside and that is that it raises the water temperature a couple of degrees but that's another story. I just feel dumb for having chosen this pump. I gave it 3 stars because they ask about suction power. It has 0 suction power in the sense that it needs to be primed; after that it sucks and blows like whatever a 400GPH pump is supposed to suck and blow like.. 400GPH so that question didn't make sense to me. Never been this confused by a pump... Either way; that's my honest review and a long one I know but I hope it helps the next person decide whether they want this pump or not. Unbelievably frustrating. ... show more

  • Having difficulty getting customer service response/Update,Excellent response!
Size: 400 GPH
In spite of only a 4star rating....Let me begin by saying I think this is a great pump at this price point. I have purchased 7 of them for my fish tanks in the past year and they are excellent, easy to clean and maintain, and my fish love swimming right in the currant of the inflows. Regular maintenance cleaning is the key to these pumps longevity and I have found that by placing the entire pump in a filter basket this greatly simplifies this task. No debris or fish waste ever reach the pumps actual pre filter this way. Now for the reason I did not rate 5 stars......unfortunately one of the more recently purchased pumps after only approx. 30 days of use quit working. I am familiar with the design and function of these pumps so trouble shooting is pretty simple. The pump will only self prime when lifted briefly out of the water/re-submerged and then flow as it should until it shuts off again. When it tries to cycle back on submerged it can not get the impeller up to enough rpm's to prime and flow properly. It appears that the impeller assembly has partially detached from the barrel, causing it to run imbalanced, which in turn has worn the bushing in the impeller unevenly.. I realize that with anything manufactured there is going to be some issues with quality control or just simply parts malfunctioning, and after all this is only 1 of 7 pumps that has had any issue whatsoever. I firmly believe that it is how a company addresses these issues, that separates them from the competition, which brings me to why I only rated this product with 4 stars. I have contacted/e mailed [email protected] directly twice since 1/23 and have yet to hear any response as of 1/28. I would have preferred to have simply resolved my problem that way and then written a 5 star review. I will update if anything changes. Update 1/30/20 After still not receiving response from earlier e-mails, tried calling the Customer Service phone number for Simple Deluxe that is provided on Thank You card in pump packaging which is(866)558-2976. After multiple calls that were dropped by their automated system finally got ahold of them and indeed they were very pleasant&helpful and said they would send out replacement pump by 4pm that evening, to arrive in approx.4days. I will further update when pump arrives and then change to 5 star rating. 2/4Update,Rcvd replacement as promised and let me say these folks went above and beyond to remedy my problem, so if I could, I would give them10 stars! As I previously had stated, I believe its how a company stands behind their products when there is a problem that separates them from the competition and these folks really stepped up to make things right!! I will purchase from them again and highly recommend them and these pumps! Thanks to everyone involved! ... show more
