The media could not be loaded. My hubs LOVES Sonic ice! He craves it! There are a few other restaurants and places that have it and when he finds a place, he always gets an extra cup to munch on it. I've been looking for years to find a counter top ice maker that produces it and for years I could only find the original standalone machine that costs thousands. When people started producing counter top versions, the reviews weren't great. Recently, after several years, I decided to revisited this quest. I found hope in the newer machines that looked like they were getting closer. After pouring over reviews and descriptions, I decided on finally buying him this one for Christmas this year. I'm happy to report: The cubes are the perfect size for crunching! He says it could be just a tad more "watery" (whatever that means -- it's ice -- isn't it naturally watery?? -- But I'm not as fanatical about rabbit poop ice as he is), but he says "it is pretty darn close" and he loves it!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The machine produced ice almost instantly. I was impressed by how fast it worked. It's footprint on the counter is about the size of a normal-sized coffee maker. Our knife block with the knives stands taller than this machine. So it doesn't take up much space as I thought it would. The water capacity is pretty decent: it makes about 2 tumblers full of ice -- or 1 32oz convenient store plastic cups -- we'll have to experiment with making extra to store in the freezer but so far hes eating them as fast as its making them 😆 The quality of the machine is mostly plastic but seems sturdy and good. The loudness is not more than the exhaust fan on the stove, but as mentioned it doesn't take long for ice to be produced, so the machine doesn't run long. Over all, this was a great buy!! 👍

So far this ice maker has performed admirably, but stay tuned. Pros: fast ice, nice soft crunch, larger capacity than my other purchases, reasonably efficient cleaning mode. Cons: squeaky noise (cleaning needed). As I said earlier "stay tuned" review is ongoing, but so far so good! 7/16/25 UPDATE: Well, we have had this ice maker for ten months now and up till recently, it's been working like a charm, nice ice, fast ice, self clean works perfectly, and overall we were very happy, but recently, it started making some really strange noises during the clean cycle, as well as during ice making and the ice making is a little slower now. We have had several ice makers, and they are pretty much act the same way. I will say for this one. It has lasted longer than the others. We have had expensive ones and not expensive ones and unfortunately, they all are pretty much the same. It is unfortunate that they do not have great lifespans. I'm ol school and remember when things were purchased from Sears or Montgomery Wards the quality was very good and the products lasted a long time. I still have some things that are working well. It is sad that companies do not have that same standard anymore.

I purchased this Silonn ice maker less than a year ago, and it stopped working in early October. Customer service agreed to send a replacement on October 14, confirmed my address on October 28, but as of November 6, I still haven’t received a tracking number or any delivery update. The ice maker worked well before it broke, but the warranty and replacement process has been frustratingly slow and unclear. I’ve been polite and patient through multiple emails, but the responses keep saying they’re “monitoring the shipment” without providing any real progress. What’s also disappointing is that four friends of mine purchased the same model, and all four units stopped working within the first year. They’ve since switched to other brands, but I wanted to give Silonn a chance to make things right. I’ll update this review if the replacement ever arrives, but for now, I can’t recommend this product based on my experience and the repeated issues among multiple buyers. UPDATE_ Nov. 14. The replacement ice maker arrived and is working great. I appreciate that the company followed through, and I'm updating this review to reflect that the issue was resolved. Thanks!

We love this ice machine. After reading many reviews and watching user videos, I decided on this one for its cost, ease of use and cleaning, ice production, and small size for sitting on the countertop. We use a lot of ice and our fridge ice maker does not work well sadly. We waited the recommended 24 hours, leaving the machine upright in the box. Then we loaded it with water, plugged it in, and pressed the button; it began making ice within 6 minutes. (we tossed the first 5 batches or so as rec.) It has a slight hum when it is on, but nothing bothersome to us. Some say this ice cannot be frozen, or it turns into a block of ice, but we figured out a way that works for us. Once the ice basket is full, we dump the ice in a bin in our freezer. After we get a good amount of ice in the bin, we break it up with an ice pic We may have to do this a couple of times, but we are ok with that for the amount of ice we can produce over a few hours. This is our second Silon ice machine. The first one turned on but never made ice. We returned with no hassle and ordered the one we now have. It just must have been a bad machine. We are thankful the return was easy.
