I bought this auger to help me naturalize approximately 150 assorted bulbs in my yard, transfer plants to new beds and dig holes for other plants. I read the reviews of several augers before I decided on this one. At first, I was somewhat disappointed when I used it with my electric hand drill. My electric hand drill was not powerful enough to push the auger through my St. Augustine grass very well. Then I got out my old bit brace and put the auger in it. The hex drive fits perfectly. The solid shaft eliminated concerns of the shaft bending or breaking. The welds on the auger blade seem solid and have held. There has been no bending of the blade or shaft when I used it in the hand brace. The auger worked super in the hand brace. I was able to go through the grass easily. If I hit a rock, I just had to tilt the auger to get around it. It was easier to use the bit brace than the power drill. The auger in the brace worked so much better. It worked so well I don't think I will bother with the power drill. I was able to dig holes faster than with the power drill. In a few days, I had all my bulbs planted, holes made to transfer plants, and my new beds finished. I recommend this auger for serious gardeners.

Works as it should. Nice little drill attachment that saves you some labor. They left a shard of metal inside and it rolls around every time it moves and makes a tinging noise. Just annoying, not really a problem though. After so many holes the digging edge will dull from hitting rocks, so I usually use a flat file to sharpen the edge a bit. You don't need to sharpen it, but its less wear and tear on your drill. I use it commercially for installing termite bait stations and it's held up great. I'm happy with it, if this one breaks, I'll buy the same product again.

Ended up returning as it did not dig thru solid dirt and actually after a couple of uses it just did not spin in my drill.

I needed baffles for a D-cell Maglite suppressor. This worked perfectly. It was slightly larger diameter than needed, but I was able to reduce the diameter and elongate it with a dent puller and a dead blow hammer. If you want a homemade flow through suppressor, this is what you need.

My husband can say goodbye to his cordless drill, it's going on a garden adventure WITH ME!! This really is a game changer if you have weakness or problems with your hands. It makes a perfect hole for flowers or veggies from a 4 pack or 6pack. I bet it works great for bulbs.
