This ice maker performs exactly as described. Don’t expect it to operate like a really expensive ice maker since it is not. The ice comes out in minutes. 6-7 rounded pieces each cycle. You just put in the water and let it do its thing. The ice is somewhat wet when it comes out, but to be expected for this kind of unit. The cleaning cycle worked great, just as described. I ordered the stainless steel version and it looks nice on the counter. The noise level is average. Obviously the ice falling into the little basket is going to make some noise. We use this primarily in our RV while camping so I don’t need to worry about carrying ice trays out to the camper. It has served us well. We take the ice out right away because the machine doesn’t keep it cold, again as expected. I would buy it again and have had fun using it. ... show more

Our fridge ice maker stopped working & takes $750 to fix, we estimate. We really appreciate the price of this little icemaker, but it's a lot of work (since you have to keep coming in to remove the cup of ice it makes). Moreover, all the new ice cubes STICK together (if you don't use them immediately in your drinks) because they're not in a super-cold setting. (They are being made alongside the bath of cold water.) So we have to pick at it w/a sharp knife in our freezer in order to use it. ... show more
