I've never baked anything before, but I decided to see how badly I could make some recipes from the New York Times as well as reproduce a pizza made by a close friend. I went for the pizza first and it worked out very well. Obviously, I had to figure out how to prepare the dough and ingredients, but the part that always scared me was actually getting the dough rolled and shaped precisely (and cleaning up any mess afterwards). This product comes with a rolling pin, a block for cutting the dough and a mat on which to roll the dough, plus an easy "map" (?) to follow (pictured on the right) to insure you're getting the shape and size right as called for in the recipe. All of this worked very well. The mats are non-stick and very easy to clean, and the roll and block work exactly like one would hope. My next attempt, an oven-carmelized French onion galette, didn't work as well, but only because I didn't cook the ovens properly. The baking part was perfect. I found another recipe for the same thing on Youtube that was much easier than the NYT recipe and it tasted great (I love the taste of onions). I strongly recommend this product. I'm a beginner, but this once you know how to prepare the dough this product insures that you'll at least have the start of something you can finish if you know to make the rest of the ingredients correctly. I checked out a lot of products, tried this one out, and it worked out perfectly.

This set is a great value, and I'm super happy with the quality. This is the perfect set for any home baker at any skill level. The rolling mat stays put on the counter so you aren't chasing it around while you roll your dough. The baking mats are awesome and fit perfectly in a regular size sheet pan. All the mats wipe clean with soapy water, I had a few patches of discoloration on the baking mats after using them, but I think that has more to do with my old, beat-up baking sheets. Would definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys baking at home!

I bought this as a gift for my sister who was having difficulty with pie crust. She is 71, and I am 76 so it might be time for us to have problems with pie crust!! Whoever came up with "easy as pie" must not have made a truly "from scratch" pie!!!

I lost my old 2 handled rolling pin so I thought after 40 years to try something different..I was also using waxed paper to roll out dough. I can't believe my friends let me do this. Friends don't let friends bake like this. When I got this set, I was skeptical there would be a difference. This is fantastic! The cookie sheets easy to clean. No washing greased sheets. The rolling pin gives me great control. It's light, but heavy enough to feel substantial. Finally the roller mat grips the surface without any slip. I love the measurements. No more guessing if the crust will fit. The surface requires much less flour, if at all when peeling your cookies off or kneading bread. Reasonable price. I'm going to find new friends who will keep me updated. Lol.
