Features

  • PCIe Gen 3x4 interface with read/write speed up to 2,200/1,600MB/s
  • TBW=150
  • The warranty terms on all of its SSDs are based on whether the warranty length or TBW limit occurs first.
  • To support a Silicon Power PCIe SSD, the system must have an M. 2 connector with only an M key. The Silicon Power PCIe SSD does not have a b notch and therefore, the b key on the SSD connector will prevent it from being inserted

Description

The P34A60 is an affordable storage solution that doesn't skimp on performance. It's designed for novice users, DIY system builders, purpose- built system manufacturers, and simply those who are looking to upgrade their PC. But with a PCIe Gen3x4 interface, which means four lanes are used for transmitting and receiving data simultaneously, read speeds up to 2,200 MB/s, and write speeds up to 1,600 MB/s, this SSD is anything but basic. The P34A60 supports NVMe 1.3, which demands better performance vectors than AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface), including scalable bandwidth, increased IOPS, and low latency. In addition, HMB (Host Memory Buffer) architecture, which allows the host driver to allocate system memory (RAM) for exclusive use by the SSD, results in higher efficiency. It's this teamwork that provides optimum performance. The P34A60 is engineered with LDPC (Low-Density Parity Check) coding, a powerful error correction code (ECC) algorithm, to keep data secure. Furthermore, End-To-End (E2E) data protection, to ensure that accessed and retrieved data are correct from start to finish, and a RAID engine, which provides an acceptable level of fault tolerance, work to enhance data integrity for greater reliability and stability. With an M.2 2280 (80mm) form factor, the P34A60's compact size allows for easy installation in laptops, small form factor PC systems, and some ultrabooks. And with up to a massive 2TB capacity option, it's an easy upgrade that can greatly expand your system's storage potential while also saving space for other components.

  • Reliable Drive
Capacity: 256GB Style: 256GB
I bought this in 2020, and lasted 6 years in my computer. Never noticed any slowdown, and worked great. Only reason I replaced it is because I needed more storage. Would definitely recommend.

  • Good enough for the price
Capacity: 256GB Style: 256GB
I wasn't expecting amazing performance so this drive is essentially exactly what I hoped for. Given the price, I would say it is excellent, however, do NOT expect it to perform as well as some other drives. Compared to the Samsung SSD in my Lenovo P1 this drive could probably be considered a dog but the performance is still very good. I also compared it to my external SSD where I fully expected the external drive to get it's but kicked since it's connected via USB 3.1 and it did. Anyway, it appears to be a very solid drive for the price so unless you need ultimate speed, I would not hesitate to purchase one. All speed tests were performed on a Lenovo P1 with an i7-8750 processor and 32 GB RAM. Reliability is yet to be determined. *** Update 10/18/2022 *** Since it has been almost 2 1/2 years since installing this, I figured I would provide an update to let potential buyers know that it is still going strong and has had zero issues. I would purchase another one of these in a heartbeat. ... show more

  • Another quality drive giving an older system new life.
Capacity: 256GB Style: 256GB
bought this with an adaptor for a really small dell AMD FX 8800p system someone gave me. I didn't need the system, and felt the aging 2tb drive was too old to consider dependable for my nephews so I gave them a 1tb that was newer for storage and this drive as their new main drive for speed. problem was, I had no sata header on the board that was free. I didn't want to take the only one being used by the rom drive as I wanted that drive for my nephews if they ever wanted to watch dvds together or if one was using the xbox, this would increase speed for game performance. so now they have a drive giving an older pc life that might have been sold for very little or scrapped if not donated. a pc that was still capable of running games in hight 720p and low to mid level 1080p which is fine for them. the drive will most likely function longer than this system that it can be used on their next system down the road. so the nvme was actually a good investment. and i can always repurpose the adaptor in that case down the road. ... show more

  • Works with Raspberry Pi 5
Capacity: 256GB Style: 256GB
Used with a Freenove nvme hat on a Raspberry Pi 5 and it worked right away. I had tried using a different nvme before and could not get it to work.

  • Good value, but may fight a Linux install (Ubuntu 24.04).
Capacity: 256GB Style: 256GB
Just be aware... When installing Ubuntu 24.04 on the Silicon Power A60 (P34A60), you may encounter low-level controller freezes and timeout errors (such as QID timeout or genctr mismatch). This stems from a hardware/firmware conflict between the drive's DRAM-less controller (often the Silicon Motion SM2263XT or similar) and the Linux kernel's handling of power states and heavy I/O commands. See screenshots for some debugging info. I did a deep dive into debugging the drive and ultimately used an alternative brand/model. This drive appears functional but will be used in a different project. ... show more

  • Great for installing an OS on a NAS
Capacity: 256GB Style: 256GB
Great SSD for running an internal OS instead of a USB stick. I bought this for a server to install and run TrueNAS on my Aoostar NAS. Works flawlessly. A nice size for the price, and will definitely have extra space for any future OS updates.

  • A native boot device for the Raspberry Pi 5
Capacity: 256GB Style: 256GB
I was happy with the performance and ease of installation. It provides a quick read/write device for the Raspberry Pi 5 and boots quickly. It was easy to clone the initial boot device (64 gb micro SD) to the SSD, reset the Pi boot order, remove the SD and then boot from the SSD. The piclone utility on the Pi 5 was used for the clone operation & SSD preperation. The Pi was then used to expand the file system to provide full access to the full SSD file space. ... show more
