The cabinet itself is a great product. Very solid and heavy. Somewhat difficult to assemble. The whole front (4 glass doors) and sides are one piece. Kind of difficult to handle that piece! I was never notified of a shipping date. I was not at home when the shipment arrived. A neighbor signed and the shippers left this 175 pound box... that was supposed to be delivered inside my home.... leaning against the front of the garage. I had to get the box inside the garage and lay it down and open it inside the garage and carry each piece inside to assemble it. Very frustrated at the shipping company!! ... show more

It was easier to assemble than most furniture like this that requires assembly. The only issue was that once it was fully assembled, one of the cabinet door would not close completely. I had to sand down the top of the door so it would close fully (it was not possible to adjust the hinges). I am looking for a small amount of paint to match the color of the top portion of the door so it can match the rest. Hopefully I can find something acceptable. ... show more

This is a beautiful cabinet, just what I was looking for! The distressed finish gives it that beautiful shabby chic look. It was supposed to be teal but it's more minty green but I'm good with that. Plenty space for those special things you want to display and protect. It was easy to put together. I'm a seventy five year old great grandmother and I assembled it by myself. First off, I am going to acknowledge that--when one can assemble it--this sideboard looks amazing. Visually, the end product looks exactly as I wanted and it is exactly the size I needed. It looks fantastic in the room I put it in. But that's about all the good things I can say about it. The manufacturer should be ashamed of itself for the completely shoddy quality control they have as my images can attest. First off, while they do say in the instructions that the end product may look different than what the instructions show, what they don't tell you is that the parts they send along will be labeled differently than what the instructions call for. As my images can show of the parts package and the list of items in the manual, absolutely NOTHING matches. Which I found out at the very last part is a big problem because while all of the bolts attaching the lid to the body, the last bolts that you install between the inside lid and the wood holding the upper latches can only be a specific type. And the instructions do not make this clear in any way. Additionally, the instructions call for you to install the back support leg first before you screw the back support beam in place. Only one problem: the hole for the screw that holds the back support is blocked by the back leg. I had to uninstall the back leg to get to it. The wood where the nut connectors you screw all the bolts into are not always cut with straight angles. Because of this, tightening the bolts that hold the unit together sometimes caused the wood to pull away from the pieces they were attached to. As I tightened them, I frequently heard what sounded like a ripping sound as the pieces began to separate. You can see in my images where one of the pieces clearly pried away from the body. The worst thing is that, as soon as I opened the box, I saw that the entire bottom piece was cracked (see image). While I was able to work with it, it resulted in the bottom piece bending in on itself. Visually, once assembled you don't see it. But because it pulls the sides inwards, this makes almost impossible to install the inside shelves. In the end, I had to loosen a lot of the nuts and pry the shelves in before tightening them again. All in all, I wouldn't recommend anyone purchase products from this manufacturer if even one review states that the purchaser's product was damaged or that installation was difficult. This manufacturer really should fire their QC and manual creation departments because this shoddy level of effort is beyond ridiculous. Expecting the right parts, pieces not being broken, and instructions being updated when the product changes is the base level of expectation. This manufacture is clearly not serious about any of it. ... show more

This turned out to be a lovely piece which we are happy with. However, the instruction and pieces of screws and such were mislabeled and caused a lot of confusion. Thank goodness my husband has common sense and was able to figure it all out.. Very frustrating. I had to rewrite the letters on the different screws to make sense of them all. ... show more

    • Not quite distressed look

I liked the cabinet and would have given it five stars except for two issues. First the look is not distressed but more like paint is visibly chipped off. It was not possible to retouch those chipped spots because it would be too hard to find matching paint. Second issue was with trying to attach the top of the cabinet to the front side. It's one of the last steps and sadly it couldn't be done because the screw holes that we found would not attach the screws to anything. Either the piece of wood that it should have attached to was too far to the side or (I doubt this could be the case) the screws had to be longer and attached to the front where there were no screw holes and where you could risk puncturing the front of the cabinet. So we had no choice but to skip this step. We were careful in moving the cabinet to the desired place and have no intention of moving it around. The cabinet is sturdy and heavy. It was not too hard to put together except for the step I mentioned above. ... show more
