  • Awesome T80 Chair
Color: Dark Grey Style: T80 Black (Lumbar Support + Headrest)
I just received my Dark Gray Sidez Chair with Head Rest a couple of hours ago. I promptly unboxed it and assembled it. I am working from home now and needed a comfortable chair to sit in for hours at a time. I throughly researched ergonomic chairs. I prioritized comfort, durability and style. I read tons of reviews. I compared low, medium and mid-high priced chairs. I decided I did not want to spend the $1,600+ for all the features I wanted on a Herman Miller office chair. But I didn’t want a cheap throwaway chair. I needed a comfortable seat cushion that had an adjustable depth. I am a female senior citizen around 5’ 5” tall. I have an ample rear end. Therefore I needed a chair cushion wide enough and deep enough that would not cut off the blood circulation at my thighs. I needed a chair where I could comfortably sit up at a desk to use my computer for hours at a time, lean back to relax, plus have support for my lower back and behind my head. Additionally I wanted adjustable arm rests so I could set them exactly where I need them. After reading the T80 chair reviews, it was out of stock at the time but I decided to order this chair and wait almost a month to receive it. I have beautiful wood floors that I did not want to damage but I did not want to use ugly floor mats. Again, I did tons of research and decided to order STEALTHO replacement rollerblade style wheels on Amazon. [NOTE: These STEALTHO wheels have a Black “outer shell” so they look Great with a Black chair base (as in the “Dark Gray” chair version). However, I do NOT think this particular STEALTHO replacement rollerblade wheel would look good when the chair base is White (as in the “Light Gray” chair version)] Here is the replacement wheel description on Amazon: ”STEALTO Replacement Office Chair Caster Wheels Set of 5 - Protect Your Floor - Quick & Quiet Rolling Over The Cables - No More Chair Mat Needed - with Brakes - Blue Polyurethane - Standard Stem 7/16.” (FYI: The photos I included with this review show the Dark Gray Sidez T80 Chair with the Stealtho Replacement Wheels w/brakes already installed) I debated about using these wheels with the dark gray T80 chair (as the wheel itself is blue w/black outer frame) and whether it was worth the extra money for the brakes (on two wheels). At $45.99 for a set of 5 I decided to go for it. I liked the idea that the blue wheel won’t turn yellow over time like clear wheels. After installation, the blue wheels look fabulous on the dark gray T80 chair. I’m glad I opted for the ones with brakes because the wheels glide so smoothly, the brakes provide more stability so the chair doesn’t move out from under me when I go to sit down. The instructions for the chair were written in Korean but it was easy to figure out how to assemble the chair without them. However, I am glad another reviewer mentioned the need to remove 2 “installed screws” from the chair 1st before installing the headrest with the new longer screws that are provided in a plastic bag with a Sidiz plate cover. Don’t despair when you 1st sit down, I warn you, it sits straight up without adjustments. Look at the enclosed booklet and adjust the seat height, seat depth, degree of tilt, the tilting tension, the lumbar position, the arm rests and the head rest position. Now it feels heavenly. The seat cushion is very comfortable. It is supportive but not too hard or too soft. Apparently, the fabric cover on the cushion is removable so you can wash it. That is a plus for me. I found the mesh back is very comfortable. The chair has more plastic parts compared to a HM but I knew that before I ordered it. But at $699 it is an affordable alternative to a HM. Actually I was pleasantly surprised when I received the T80 that it seems hefty and very well made. To top it off, it is gorgeous! About me: I purchase A LOT on Amazon. I heavily depend on reading reviews to help me decide on my purchases. I always pay full price and have never been given an item in exchange for a review. So my reviews are honest. This chair was a high dollar item and I am very grateful to all of the people who previously took the time to review this chair. (I try to leave reviews for items I purchase on Amazon but I usually don’t take the time to leave a thorough review). Since this is a more expensive item, I decided to leave an extensive review on this item. I highly recommend this chair. In fact, I decided to take the plunge and I just placed another order for a second T80 in dark gray while it is still in stock for my co-worker. I will try to come back in the future and update my review of this chair after I use it for several months. Update: I also ordered on Amazon: “ErgoFoam Adjustable Foot Rest Under Desk for Added Height | Large Premium Velvet Soft Foam Footrest for Desk | Most Comfortable Desk Foot Rest in The World for Back, Lumbar, Knee Pain (Black)” to use with my T80 chair. (There are a variety of under desk foot rests available on Amazon and office supply stores so look around if you are interested). I just wanted to say this foot rest delivered today. The addition of the use of a foot rest, (with this already awesome T80 chair), makes my feet, legs and lower back say “Ahhhhhhh”. ... show more

  • An excellent chair that's one size fits most. I wasn't one of them. :(
Color: Dark Grey Style: T80 Black (Lumbar Support + Headrest)
First things first, I did not keep this chair for reasons I will detail below. That being said, I can easily recommend this chair for most people who are looking for a robust, well made ergonomic chair that's under $1,000. When I received the chair, it arrived in pristine condition. It had custom cut foam to fit around parts of the chair and ample padding throughout. It wasn't quite the unboxing experience the SecretLab Omega D.va Edition (surprisingly well packaged) was but far better than the shockingly poor Vertagear SL4000. Assembly was by far the easiest of any chair I've purchased. Since the arms come attached to the frame of the chair, the only real assembly is if you opt to install the headrest. Otherwise, the gas lift simply sits inside the 5 star base and the chair lowered onto the gas lift piston. Insert casters. Done in minutes. The build quality of the chair, despite being mostly plastic, is very high. There is heft to the chair and it feels rigid, with no weird flex or give in random spots. The finish and feel very similar to higher end chairs like the Steelcase Gesture. The plastics, anyway. The fabric isn't quite up there. The mesh back is thick and the seat fabric felt like a mid-rub blend of poly. The five star base felt very durable despite being plastic. The casters were also plastic but they were the smoothest ones I've felt yet. They also performed fairly well on high pile carpet. In terms of ergonomics, there are a ton of adjustments that can be made to tailor to your preferences. Without going in depth, I've found that it hit basically everything I looked for with the exception of being able to lock a seat/back tilt angle. This is something that's usually reserved to only the most adjustable ergonomic chairs out there so it didn't come as a surprise. Comfort wise, it was mixed. The chair was supportive and comfortable for short stays but the seat didn't agree with my flat butt over extended sessions. On the flip side, my girlfriend found it comfortable and had she not wanted a pink gamer chair (the SecretLab I mentioned), I would have kept the T80 and have her use it instead. Oh well. Ultimately, the reason why I ended up returning the chair was because there were a few small issues that I could not resolve. The biggest issue was the size. While it is a larger chair than most, the headrest was too short and only supported my neck and lower head. Being just shy of 6'1", I suspected that I might run into this issue but hoped the headrest would adjust high enough. The lumbar support also did not adjust high enough and only managed to reach my upper hip. Lastly, there was a very small amount of a play in the seat that bothered me. A crazy nitpick for many I'm sure, but I shift in my seat from time to time and every once in a while, I would feel a click or a slight wobble. If the headrest and lumbar were better positioned for a taller person, I would have gotten over the seat but it was not meant to be. At the end of the day, I think the majority of buyers would be thrilled to own it. The T80 is stylish and holds its own against the likes of the Aeron (supportive, but not as comfortable) and Gesture (not as supportive but comfy) at a lower price. The customer support was also fantastic. I just wish it were taller, since I can't do anything about my height. :P ... show more

  • Not better then the lower series chair they offer
Color: Light Grey Style: T80 White (Lumbar Support + Headrest)
I've used their T50 chair in my office so I bought the T80 for home office. Here is my comparison of the 2. The good stuff. -Design. Chair looks great and was easy to assemble. -Armrest are better then the T50. More stable and adjustable. -You can lock the recline even though I don't use this. T50 doesn't has the lock feature. The not so good stuff. -I'm not as comfortable on the T80 for long hours on it. -The cushion is not as sturdy as the T50. When you recline the cushion can move forward making it thinner or compressed more and after hours on it your rear end will let you know. I didn't get this from the T50. -Speaking of the recline, the T80 doesn't recline as much as the T50. This is also a setback. That extra tilt makes a big difference. -The lumber is also not as adjustable as the T50. It even shows this in the pictures but the T80 lumber is so low I don't know how a tall person will get comfort from this. It's barely tall even for me. I love the look of the T80 but the comfort of the T50. The cushion is my biggest disappointment. I thought the T80 almost twice the cost of the T50 would be better but not so. I'm not sure if I will keep this or but something else. My rear end doesn't like the cushion. Maybe I need to find an extra cushion or modify this one. I'll reach out the SIDIZ and see what they say. I'll update my review if anything happens. 8/19/2021 ... show more
