We are doing post modern industrial in our home and I was a little worried the slight sexy curves of these chairs would be too soft, but they look amazing. They are wider seats than the other styles and perfect for my large American hindquarters ๐Ÿ˜‚ At first I thought they sent the wrong screws, because they seemed too short, but you have to press the stand into the padding while seating the screws. 4 screws and stand this on that - viola! Chairs! Assembly was super easy and I did them myself ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฏ The seller even sent extra parts though I didn't request them. I just ordered 2 more for the other side of our island and once they are no longer needed upstairs, we will move them to the basement for guitar play ๐Ÿ˜Š Thrilled to get such a nice pair of chairs for Really about 1/3 the cost at other places. I weigh 250 currently (I know! ๐Ÿ˜–) and I'm 5'7", put the chairs together myself and they feel strong and secure ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Also, I was worried about chairs damaging our pergo floors, but these have a circular base with a rubber gasket to protect the floors. I wasn't expecting much... but these barstools look really nice... work really well... and we're a good price. Surprised by the value. I'm also 6'3" 220 lbs... and the barstools don't feel small, weak, tipsy, or anything else either

At first I rated this a 2 star since it looked exactly like the photo but I couldnโ€™t assemble it due to thinking my bolts were faulty. However, after I contacted customer service in order to either exchange or completely refund the product...they helped me out. Once I put the bolts in without the metal plate, all four bolts were able to be screwed in properly. Iโ€™ve officially assembled the product successfully. The reason I give it 3 stars instead of 4-5 is due to one of the parts being broken and the fact that my fourth chair still refuses to assemble...Iโ€™m frustrated with how much time Iโ€™ve spent on it. Overall, the chair is beautiful and I personally find it soft as well. ... show more

    • More form than function

The bottom line is: backed chairs are impractical for bar height seating unless your bar has a foot rest for scooching. Complaints: 1) The gas cylinders compress a full 2 inches when seated. so the actual maximum height is 2" less than advertised. (I'm 6'3" 185) 2) The seat back is mostly pointless. It slopes backward, so leaning against it with your feet tucked under makes you feel like you are striking a pose in an Olympic Freestyle competition. This is at bar height where your feet cannot touch the ground. In a lowered position, you can stretch your feet out on the ground and lean back (slouch) if you wish. 3) The seat back interferes with swiveling. In a normal dining room chair, you sit and then use your feet to scooch the chair closer to an eating position. With a bar height chair, scooching is impossible, so the idea is climb over the back like a traditional stool or swivel into place. However, when pushed close enough for eating, the seat back does not allow much swiveling. Basically, it's very inconvenient to get in and out of these when they are close enough for eating. 4) The useless seat back interferes with pushing the stool completely under the bar. It is possible to lower the seat and then slide it under but not very convenient to be constantly adjusting the height. 5) Lateral play in the cylinder post, especially in the highest position, allows the seat to rock back and forth like a chair with one short leg. For my needs, 3 stars is generous. These chairs look OK, are simple to assemble, are likely more comfortable for a smaller/shorter person, and are inexpensive. Unfortunately, inexpensive is still wasted money because I need to repurchase more practical traditional stools. ... show more

Quite nice bar stools for the price. Putting them together was not difficult and did not take long. All the parts were there. The stools look very nice, more expensive than they were. Have bee comfortable and sturdy. I couldn't find one stool for this price much less two. Very glad I bought them and would buy again. ... show more

Bought two sets and loving how they look in our new apartment! Easy to assemble, easy to maneuver, very comfortable to sit in for long periods of time and look great for the price. We are so happy with this purchase. We did notice during set up that there was a plastic chrome ring that sits near the bottom of the stand but on top of the plate; this looked like a cheaper part than the rest of the chair and non-essential to the stand or lift function, so we removed each one before finishing assembly. Other than the removable ring, these look like an expensive furniture store purchase from all sides and are a great addition to our kitchen island! EDIT: All of the reviews stating pieces were โ€œbrokenโ€ and showing photos are more often this plastic ring we mentioned above - it looks like itโ€™s decoration only, just remove it people! ... show more
