The alarm sound is good - adequate to grab my attention, but not so loud or offensive that I want to throw the clock across the room. And by the way, if I did happen to want to throw the clock across the room, I could probably do so without harming either the clock or anything it landed on because of that soft, rubbery finish. I’m very happy with this Sharp Digital Alarm Clock. The tactile plastic case with soft rubberized finish gives it a nice feel and makes it sturdy without being bulky. The blue backlight on demand is perfect at night bright enough to check the time but not overwhelming. Great little alarm clock. Fits perfectly on the little shelf next to my daughter's loft bed. Display is a great size and the light on demand by button is perfect, not too bright. Needs two aaa batteries which are easy to find. Very cute and soft to the touch. Easy to set the time and the alarm time. Setting the alarm off and on if very straightforward. Easy to adjust. I would really like this (I even ordered another because I need a few battery backups and I know it works) other than you have to press the snooze for the back light so in the dark it's hard to see. And the main thing that bothers me is the alarm will just stop after a few minutes. So if you fall back asleep that's it. It has a snooze but if the alarm doesn't even stay on I don't know how reliable that is. I've been using it for work for a year and at worst I have just reset the alarm and went back to bed but now I have an electric alarm as well. (I've woken up too many times with an alarm clock blinking because the electricity went out for a few seconds overnight) So it just depends on what you use it for. If it's mainly for a clock it works great and runs forever on just 2 triple A batteries. I've been using the same ones since I got it. It's accurate and has a good display size. But if you're a heavy sleeper and can sometimes sleep through an alarm, this isn't for you. ... show more
