The display is readable from a distance, and I like the fact that I can push a button to get a high visibility display at night. I didn't even need the instructions because the programming is so intuitive. The alarm sound is good - adequate to grab my attention, but not so loud or offensive that I want to throw the clock across the room. And by the way, if I did happen to want to throw the clock across the room, I could probably do so without harming either the clock or anything it landed on because of that soft, rubbery finish. I bought this to replace a very very old clock that I kept in the bathroom to watch the time while getting ready for work. That old clock started making weird noises. This is a good little alarm clock! It's easy to use and I like that the actual digital display doesn't stay on unless I press the button. That being said, it turns off when you're trying to set it so you have to keep pressing to light it up. All in all a good purchase! I ordered the charcoal color for my son and I got the purple. Small but does the job without any disruption when we lose power. I do wish it had a back light so I could see the time when its dark or dimly lit. Other than that, I'm satisfied with the little clock.

    • WARNING: Apparent electrical fault and burn hazard
Initially, the clock was fine. I do public speaking in various locations, and I purchased this to use in locations without a clock easily visible. With nice large numbers, the clock worked well over several months. But ... I just returned from a trip during which the clock failed badly and dangerously. I took the clock since some hotels no longer have bedside clocks. The first night, the clock was very dim, and by morning it was dead. Figuring that the batteries were dead, I purchased and installed a replacement set. Initially, the clock came on. But a couple of minutes later, the clock was dead and unresponsive again. Checking the battery compartment, I noticed that a contact spring had shifted. When I went to remove and reinstall the battery, my thumb touched the spring and was instantly burned (thankfully small). Further, the battery was too hot to hold comfortably (and this after only a couple of minutes or so). I infer that something failed internally and short circuited, overloading the battery. I don't know what would have happened if I had not noticed it. It was hot! I brought the clock home (without batteries) with the idea of submitting a warranty claim. But all I see on Amazon is a 30-day return, and I'm past that. Bottom line, the clock is a total loss. Worse, it failed dangerously. ... show more

Originally purchased to use in my semi truck while over the road and kept it when I went local, it has a permanent spot on my dresser and I use it daily. Originally purchased in Nov 2025 and have yet to replace the batteries. It's worked flawlessly and is very easy to use. It's definitely loud enough and keeps great time. Would definitely recommend for traveling or use at home. ... show more

    • Works well but alarm will stop after a few minutes
I would really like this (I even ordered another because I need a few battery backups and I know it works) other than you have to press the snooze for the back light so in the dark it's hard to see. And the main thing that bothers me is the alarm will just stop after a few minutes. So if you fall back asleep that's it. It has a snooze but if the alarm doesn't even stay on I don't know how reliable that is. I've been using it for work for a year and at worst I have just reset the alarm and went back to bed but now I have an electric alarm as well. (I've woken up too many times with an alarm clock blinking because the electricity went out for a few seconds overnight) So it just depends on what you use it for. If it's mainly for a clock it works great and runs forever on just 2 triple A batteries. I've been using the same ones since I got it. It's accurate and has a good display size. But if you're a heavy sleeper and can sometimes sleep through an alarm, this isn't for you. ... show more
