I have had atomic clocks for probably more than 30 years? ... I like that I can look at the clock and be sure of what month, day, year, time and temperature inside and outside are! Being retired, sometimes I have to check to see just what day it is! I have one of these clocks in every room in the house! It's just nice to be able to look up and know what time/day it is ... and the temperature ... I use it a lot to decide which jacket/coat/scarf/hat to wear.

really nice clock if only it didn't reset itself every few months. sadly, it never actually uses the "atomic time" to set the time or time zone or date so you have to do everything again manually and the buttons are marked in black on black on the back but you have to look at the front while pressing them. the 12/24 is not all that intuitive, either. you basically have to guess. i suppose that one or two more resets and i will have it memorized. the last one I had lasted about 20 years and was a real sharper image but the outside remote finally gave up the ghost so I got this to replace it. It never reset itself but was also difficult to set when I had to replace the batteries. otoh, the extra large numerals and beautiful minimalism of the clock design make it worth the extra effort. a plus would have been a little bit of an adjustable glow on the dial (there is none now) would have been a big plus.

This is NOT AN AUTO-SET CLOCK. Theoretically, it looks for a time signal 4 times a day, between 1 and 4 a.m., and within 10 minutes of turning it on. This unit did neither. I turned it off and on repeatedly and let it run past 1 a.m. by itself twice. It never set the correct time. Given that every watch, phone and other piece of consumer electronics has been able to auto-set itself for a decade or more, it's disappointing that Sharp can't make an autoset clock in 2023 that plugs and plays. Update: After leaving it on the counter for 3 days, procrastinating to take it to the UPS Store and send it back, it finally set it itself -- to the wrong time zone. The time zone must be adjusted manually. Easy enough for me, but not for my elderly mother for whom I bought this thing and would've been a dealbreaker had I know this in advance. For the record, that was the 6th day after turning it on for the 1st time, during which time it was running continually throughout 5 previous nights.

I’ve had it overnight, moved it around the room, took the batteries out and reset it several times, it does not work as advertised. It’s an ordinary clock you have to set. I’ll be returning it. I’m disappointed. I always wanted an atomic clock I loved the idea of a clock that sets to a quasar. Technologically we are far more advanced than the ordinary battery operated set-yourself clock. This is useless and pointless. I did give 3 stars because the indoor outdoor temp works and the display is nice and clear but I’m still returning it.

I had the previous model of this clock for many years and the outside temp module failed, I decided to go for this. I have had it for about six months and it works flawlessly. The Font is somewhat more cramped the the previous (larger) model, but it is still very readable. For those who need a night light clock, though this is not what will fulfill your needs as it has no light. Well worth the price as it tells you the time and indoor/outdoor temperatures plus for people like me (retired) it tells the day and date!

Often when I buy something I go online to get the latest information. This clock has a different set of instructions from that which you will find online. Use the directions that shipped with the clock because the button configuration is quite different from the online instructions for the exact same model. I can only assume there must have been an update. Amazon chat help has the wrong instructions as well. You can initially set it manually, but it could take quite some time to "get with" the signal from Colorado. You can manually search for the signal, but be patient. It still takes a little while to set. Mine took about fifteen minutes after I activated the "Wave" feature. The outdoor temp sensor was initially off a few degrees, but it settled out and appears to be accurate now. One downside to this clock is that you still have to manually turn on/off the DST feature. Mine was on by default and I could not remedy this until I found out the instructions were different. I wanted an atomic clock so I didn't have to pull it off the wall twice a year, but such is life. It's a small thing to trade for the time accuracy. You should be checking the batteries every six months or so on all your devices anyway I did not rate the accuracy as I cannot attest to this 100% as of typing this. I have had the clock for less than 24hrs. However, I believe it will prove to be on the money.
