Let me start by saying todd. I have two cats in my home. One is a long hair and one is a short hair. I have two robot vacuums that vacuum a couple of times a week each, I have a stick vacuum that I use in between cleanings to get things off the tile floor like cat litter that has been tracked all over the house and other random things. I have a Eureka canister vacuum that, when purchased, was meant to be a short-term item. I knew it was crappy, but it got the job done and it was inexpensive. I also have a Tineco S5 vacuum mop combo (which I love). This shark vacuum was meant to replace the Eureka, because despite having multiple other vacuums, I didn't have the tools to vacuum any of my upholstered furniture, and also I just knew that none of my other vacuums were not able to pick up cat hair as well. Before making this purchase I searched product specifications meticulously. There were a couple of things that I would not do without. So, I did not consider vacuums that did not have an LED light. The other thing I did not want to sacrifice was suction power, so I did not consider any cordless vacuums. I compared many different shark models and other brands as well comparing the wattage, so that I could be sure to end up with a vacuum that has the suction power that I was looking for. This one has the highest suction power of them all, and as an added bonus, it has this ability to allow you to remove the body of the vacuum in order to clean your upholstery, stairs, and other items with the wand attachment. I didn't even know that this existed, but now that I've used it and experienced how much easier it makes the furniture cleaning, I wouldn't want to go without it. It's basically like having a canister vacuum and an upright vacuum all in one. My favorite part about all of this is that when you remove the handheld wand, there's also a little LED light that is attached to the wand so that you can see really well what you're trying to clean. So your cleaning routine is quick and easy. The first time I tried this vacuum I vacuumed just my bedroom. I had just vacuumed the bedroom 2 days before that, so I didn't think I'd get too much dirt and other debris in this pass. I could not have been more wrong! I filled up the entire dust bin in just one go, and adjust the bedroom. Mind you, I have regular pile carpeting in that bedroom and no rugs. I was absolutely floored at how much my robot vacuums, and my canister vacuum left behind. The suction power on this thing is awesome. Thinking that maybe this was just happening in the bedroom, I moved on to the other bedrooms. Same story. Amazed, I moved on to the area rug in my family room. This area rug is high pile and very difficult to vacuum, and also happens to be the place where the cats love to hang out and wrestle with each other right, so there's always plenty of cat hair. Anyway. Anyway. Again, I had just vacuumed it so I wasn't expecting to get that much hair. As it turns out, I filled the canister to its capacity four times just on that one rug. I felt absolutely disgusting, but at the same time relieved and amazed. I also want to mention that the vacuum handled my high pile rug very well and it did not get all tangled up. I have another high pile rug in my living room, and it handled that one with just as much ease. I know I said I was able to fill up the canister to its capacity multiple times, so I just want to clarify that it's not that the canister capacity is too little. It's just that I had that much dirt! Absolutely gross. So far I'm blown away by this vacuum. It's considerably heavier than my stick vacuum, but then again my stick vacuum doesn't have anywhere near the amount of features. The cord on this vacuum is a great length so that I can use it in multiple rooms without having to unplug it from where it was. It's not a retracting cord, and while I would have loved that, it's not a deal-breaker. The wand has several attachments which are awesome, and as I said before it's very easy to take the handheld piece off. There is only one thing I would change about this vacuum if I could, and that would be that it would accommodate all of the attachments somewhere on the body of the vacuum. There are three attachments and it can only accommodate. It's kind of a small thing, so again not a deal-breaker. Overall this is a great vacuum, and especially for the price. If you have pets, go with this one. ... show more

  • Almost as good as my last Shark that lasted 10+ years
Style: Powered Lift-Away
This vacuum replaces the last one I had for about 10 years. I bought a cheaper shark but was sorely disappointed. Luckily Amazon has a fantastic return policy and before I even packaged up the vacuum to ship back I ordered one with all the features I missed from my original Shark. And it arrived the next day!! This model checks all the boxes and I've just completed the assembly and testing it out and am thrilled to have a good vacuum. The only con I've found, is that the hook that holds the power cord up to the handle area is not secure. The cord constantly falls out. I might just zip tie it in place. Problem solved! Thanks Amazon for the prompt delivery so I could clean the floors of the Great Pyrenees long white hair! :-) ... show more

  • Best vacuum for suction is the professional VN752 (pet) model
Style: Powered Lift-Away
I purchased this same vacuum (NV752) in 2019 and truly have worn it out! I just re-purchased the same make/model to replace it in 2025. After reading all the reviews of the latest & greatest "fins" and self-cleaning brushes....I'm convinced that these new features just break sooner and do not really add to the function of the machine. Vacuum cleaners are all about suction and this model is the best! It is not too heavy and the cord length is quite long. Is it the longest cord - nope, but that's okay. I kept my floor tool from my older vacuum and will use it for hardwoods. Is the hose hard to stretch to reach ceiling cobwebs~ yep, but how often do I do that? I choose vacuums based on how well it pulls out the dirt, dog hair, dust from my floors. Newest is not always the greatest. ... show more

  • They improved the Shark!!
Style: Powered Lift-Away
I had my original Shark animal repaired from over use. Why? From owning several cats, and several Australian Shepherds and parakeets. And fostering Aussies. Feathers, fur and household dirt. Needless to say, I called the vacuum man again and he said no, throw it away. I killed it. I am so hard on vacuums. I don’t think he ever wants to know me again. Fair enough. We’ve owned a Kirby (awesome til it died), Dyson (never again), 2 other Sharks. If you know anything about Aussie’s, they blow their coat twice per year, six months at a time! Old joke. Aussie’s have a thick and double coat, they blow their coat, yes twice a year for about a month each time. Then regular shedding the other 10 months. Generally speaking. That’s an abundant amount of hair, ranging from 1/4” on snout to upwards of 8” long on a show coat, 4” on a working coat. Point here made later. We found ourselves hearing the whine of a dying motor, again. Goodbye ole friend, you served us well. Meanwhile, knowing its time was coming, I knew we were going to be purchasing this vacuum. This vacuum was simple to put together. Practically runs across a hardwood floor itself. It has a very low, backward bend, and skinnier head to better fit under things!! It’s been upgraded with a better hose and elbow so it doesn’t crack like the old model hose did. It has a couple new functions for adjusting floor heights, it’s extremely easy to use. Much easier than the previous model. The size seems more compact, we did not measure, however it fits more condensed in the closet. The start or pause to pick up speed is quick. It has three attachments, the skinny space arm, sofa head, and flat head. And the suction is unbelievably powerful! You need to scan the room for items on the floor as it picks up most everything. The rotor head has brushes which is ideal. However, on this machine it’s a problem. Not totally bad, just make sure you have sharp thin scissors and be prepared for maintenance after each use. Which is why I mentioned my dogs and their hair earlier. The rotor brush accumulates and builds up as much hair or other debris as it can hold, until it can’t, and then you’re not vacuuming up much. To me, while this is a hassle, the quality of the machine is worth it. Yes, I can easily broom sweep the main floor to rid most of the hair, and I now do that. Huge help! Not everyone has 2 large hairy Aussie’s. No matter how much I sweep, there’s hair and feathers. I choose this as my life and wouldn’t change it. Some people have museum quality houses, I couldn’t live in that. I wish that the rotor could be easily cleaned as there’s no simple way to take it out. You have to cut the spun debris with scissors. I always hope for really long electrical cords and hoses for those hard to reach areas. Because of the router brushes collecting so much debris, and making it difficult for the consumer to remove. I will remove a star for this reason. Otherwise the rating would have been higher. **All in all this is a VERY powerful and excellent vacuum. Great on the stairs and cleaning inside the car too. Take that away as your final impression, not everyone has furball digs like I do. ... show more
