this thing is great I highly recommend it it has it owns radar system it maps the room no problem and scares my girlfriends little dog so totally worth it on that end lol. But the floors in my house are great I have a short hair dog and he sheds a lot in the summer time. So every day I empty the vacuum bin. it says on the instruction you don't have to empty the bin although I believe if you got a short hair dog you need too. I got three floors it does detect steps But I still block off the steps just in case. It does detect objects and if need too it does have a little lift to go over little bumps like 1/2 inch which is kind of cool to watch. I am fascinated by this little robot. As someone who has a golden retriever and therefore hair all over the house, I picked Shark because of how good their vacuums are in dealing with pet hair and not getting tangled. This little guy has done a great job in just the few days we've had him. Pros: Easy set up and accurate floor plan on first sweep Great at picking up pet and long hair with no tangling. Crumbs and debris too. You can do a schedule so it cleans while we are at work No issues transitioning between hardwood and area rugs of both low and very high pile Noise level is reasonable, not silent but quieter than a normal vacuum. Emptying into the dock is noisy but it's only 15-20 seconds Bagless, easy to empty docking station. You can adjust suction levels and it's been good at pulling dirt and hair out of our deep carpet A- in it's ability to detect and avoid objects (more later) Hasn't gotten stuck once Cons You can only schedule one clean per day and it has to be the entire floor plan. You can't do individual rooms Battery life seems a little low. It took about 60-70% charge to do 525 sqft in 70 minutes. Charge back to full took 2-3 hours Object detection struggles with things that have low to the ground area base. It likes to try to travel over the lower section of our coffee table and cat scratch post Overall it's a great product that has really removed our need to do daily light cleaning.     • Build Quality and Durability is an Issue

Did a lot of research online and thought that this would be the best option to help deal with the fur from two large and furry dogs. Initially, I had no issues with getting the unit set up although it is a little sensitive with regard to Wifi connectivity. It did work well in picking up the majority of the hair although still required follow-up manual cleaning of edges (which I fully expected). So...initially...we were very happy with it....BUT.... Very quickly (within less than a week) it started to need significant daily maintenance beyond just emptying the dust collector, needed to have hair removed from wheels, brushes/brush roller cleaned and/or replaced. Given that this is a "pet" model I would expect that it would have been designed to handle pet hair which was sadly not the case. Now after approx. 4 months of use (probably less), it has stopped working because of an issue with a side wheel that is requiring the replacement of the side wheel and motor assembly (which is covered under warranty). This speaks to the build quality and durability of this product. Given these issues - I am very concerned that it will last once it's out of warranty. And we've checked, replacement parts are not available from Shark, once out of warranty. ... show more

    • Great Robot Vacuum! I love it!

I’ve waited over 6 months to write my review to make sure I could give an accurate detail of my experience with this item. I use this robot daily in a 1600sf single level home with two large hairy dogs in a dusty Texas city. This vacuum is the bomb!! I love it and reach don’t know how I went this long without it. You can hear it vacuuming but it’s not loud enough to be annoying. I am not however impressed with the app. It logs out a lot on its own, and it has dropped my map a couple of times and overall it’s not real user friendly, but it does keep you informed of its locale and it works. I do have to clear the floor of dog toys, socks and bathroom rugs for it does tend to get snagged on items and then just falls asleep in place. Don’t buy the secondary market parts, buy only Shark parts because the vacuum rejects them. The vacuum to me, was and has been a great purchase. I highly recommend maintaining the filters and just give it a good cleaning it out with your house vacuum monthly to keep up its life. It’s my favorite household item. Charging speed could be a little faster but it’s not affecting my love for the product. ... show more
