I remain amazed that every time I vacuum with it I get the full bin. And I use a robovac in between. I love this thing because if that stuff is at least it gets picked up. I bought a 3 year old manufactured home with carpeting in the living room, hallway and bedrooms. I have two dogs, both half Jack Russell and each a different other half. They shed. My previous couch was dark blue velvet with an ottoman the same fabric. Ugh. Wish I had this then. I worked so hard and so fruitlessly and was hesitant to have company because there was always hair stuck to that darn couch. The carpet here is fine, and it was cleaned. The Shark picks up a full bin of dusty gritty stuff the first time I vacuum. Same color as the carpet so many bits of fiber? You can feel the strong suction. This has made me see how lacking all over the cordless vacs I insisted on over the past decade were not the better choice at all. I love the design of the detachable hand held and the ease of using it. And the biggest treat for me is the angled brush attachment for cleaning your furniture or anything really. It attaches to the hand held and is rectangular, about 5 inches by 2 inches maybe, and you can glide it over your fabric couch and chairs and it is light and just the best attachment ever. ... show more

I have had many vacuum over the years, Sharks, Dyson, Hoover, etc. and the suction power on this vacuum is incredible! I wanted something light weight and easy to maneuver and this vacuum is it. Every time I use it and see how much is in the filter/ container I am amazed and a bit grossed out to think that was in my carpets and I vacuum quit often. Some comments had said that the dust container was small, I didn't find any issue with that. Empties out easily, and you can rinse everything out and wash the foam filters. Originally saw it at Costco for more $. I have the model with a cord. It compacts nicely and doesn't take up a lot of room in the closet. ... show more

I purchased the Shark HZ251 Lightweight hoping to replace my 15+ year old workhorse Shark dust away. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and was looking for a lightweight replacement. I've always loved the power Shark brought. I was thrilled to find this model since rechargeable vacuums don't match the power and longevity. Overall, the vacuum is wonderful. It is light weight and easy to clean. I was hopeful bus skeptical regarding the claims that hair doesn't get wrapped around the beater and was pleasantly surprised by the dusty but hair free beater, dispite vaccuuming a home with multiple dogs and cats as well as long haired humans. The suction is outstanding! We vacuum weekly, sometimes more, and are always amazed at how well the Shark performs, pulling out dust, hair, and debris of all sizes - including sand-like cat litter, with absolute ease. This vaccuum works great, with no variation in power or suction, regardless of the direction it's held in - even upside down - or how full the cup gets. The 2 power settimgs are easy to switch between. The first setting is great for hard floors with the sweeper head, the 2nd setting is wonderful for everything else, especially mattresses and fabric covered furniture. It's easy to clip and unclip parts quickly or to change out attachments. The dusting head is wonderful for fan blades, dusting surfaces, and small spaces. It's my favorite attachment! The vacuum is compact and easy to store, taking up little space, and if the handset is removed, it stands on it's own without the need of a rack to hold it. Though I love the vacuum, it isn't perfect. The vacuum is light and easy to grip, maneuver, and clean. However, it can't stand on it's own unless the hand set is detached and hung on the front. Esepcially having RA, this is a challenge. I can't stop, even for a second, and leave the vacuum unless it is securely laid against something. The attachments work great but the way they attach to the vacuum is inconvenient and cumbersome. They often hit or get caught when vacuuming under or around furniture or bedding. The vacuum doesn't come with a traditional bristle brush and I haven't been able to find one that works with the vacuum for vent grates, etc. The duster head works but a bristle head would be better for some items. The most significant pain point we've discovered is that the vacuum head doesn't work well on hard floors. We don't have a single stitch of carpet or rugs in the house due to allergies. The vacuum does well with cleaning the floor in general, as long as the 1st setting is used, it picks up debris with ease and doesn't kick them out the back side. Where it fails are edges/side suction. The vacuum head leaves a ~1 inch space around everything, that it simply can't touch. Due to this, the dusting tool has to be used to go around the edges of the room and furniture after a room is swept. I was most disappointed by this as the Shark Dust Away sweeper head was amazing on hard floors. Sadly, this head doesn't fit this model so we're stuck loving the power of the vacuum and all other features but the largest surface in the house is inadequately cleaned unless we change the head and use the duster to finish the room. Despite the few negative attributes, we chose to keep the vacuum because it works so well otherwise. We're hopeful that Shark creates a Dust Away head for this model - then it would be 99% perfect... we can get by without a bristle head. ... show more

This little Shark is quite impressive, not gonna lie. Its self-cleaning brushroll is a real time-saver—no need to mess with tangled hair or debris. You can instantly change it into a hand vacuum, awesome for reaching corners and tight spaces. The LED headlights help you spot hidden dust, pet hair, and dirt under furniture. There are also tools for getting rid of pet hair on upholstery and in crevices, which is handy if you’re a pet lover and have some fur babies. The teal color looks nice, adding a touch of style. The vacuum’s 0.32-quart capacity means you won’t have to empty it every 5 minutes. It’s lighter than others I have used and easy to maneuver, making cleaning less of a chore. I'm very impressed with this Shark. It's not heavy but cleans like a big, heavy, loud vacuum. It's lightweight with a very long cord, it's quieter and has super suction.
