My house has ALL wood, bamboo and tile floors. I've said over the years that I wanted a maid to come in and just do the floors. A pregnancy injury left me in pain most of the time and floors are really hard for me. I started with a robot vacuume that I love love love. Next I wanted an electric mop. After reading all the reviews, the corded plug in Shark Hydrovac is what I bought. I am reading poor reviews here under this product, but they continually mention the weak battery. My review is for the corded plug in vacuume not a cordless model. My floors have never been cleaner. I used the vacuume over the course of two days and about 10 hours for an initial clean. The bamboo floor is only six years old and sealed. That floor was so easy to clean, although I still cleaned it three times over since it hasn't been cleaned in over six months. The kitchen tile was super easy too, although it doesn't reach the grout, my daughter is young and took on the challenge to clean the grout with a nifty grout brush I found. The hard part to clean is the 30 year old wood floors with areas where the seal is worn off. We bought the house from someone who's dogs had scratched the floors and wore off the finish in high traffic areas. This was the hard part to clean the first time. I did the same as with the bamboo and cleaned it the times over. After it was done, I realized there were areas of built up dirt on the unsealed areas I had not been getting clean. I decided to go back and clean this area by hand with a scrub brush to get it where I wanted. After that the floors have been a snap to keep clean. I've put in about 20 hours with the vacuume so far and have had zero problems. Some reviews say you can't vacuume and mop together. I didn't even try that. I vacuume with the robot first, then mop. I don't want to risk scratching the floor with a gritty mop. It is super easy to clean. The clean tank chines right out with the push of a button. The dirty tank is the same way. I dump it in the sink, rinse it and either use it again or put it on a towel to drain and dry. There is a sponge on the filter that I rinse and squeeze and put on the towel to dry. The beater bar comes out easily. I rinse under the faucet in the kitchen sink and squeeze by grabbing the bar and turning it around with the other hand. Again, I either put it back on the mop to keep cleaning or leave it on its end to dry on the towel. The vacuume without the beater bar and without the dirty tank, has a very short tube between the two that cleans easily with a bottle brush that is not included, but I already own it. All these parts are removable and replaceable with one hand. I find it easy to use, easy to empty the dirty tank and easy to refill the clean tank. The mop has a self clean feature that works pretty well, but I found that it is easy enough to clean it the way I described above and decided that is rather care for it myself and allow the parts to all dry completely. I've had zero issues with mold or a moldy smell. My floors are cleaner than they have been in years and are easy to maintain after the initial clean I have them. Note, I have a corgi dog that sheds all year. The robot vacuume and the Shark mop have changed my life. I don't leave the house covered in fur anymore. Once a week I vacuume and mop, or one other day in between if we are all off work for holidays and tracking more dust and dirt. Everyone in the house is impressed with his easily the floor is kept in a very clean and neat state. I’ve had this for several months and it’s awesome! I purchased another brand for our other home and I’m not happy with it, it’s a BISSELL. The Shark Genius Steam Picket Mop is so much easier to use. And it cleans much better! I also like the ease of putting a clean pad on without having to bend over and struggling to get the wet dirty pad off! The shark is a win win product! I absolutely love this machine! I have used a shark vacuum for many years, and every time we do a construction project in our house, I kill one and I go back and buy another one immediately! A friend of mine came by with her new shark Hydro vac to show me how it worked on our laminate floors, I was amazed by the results. I don’t mind vacuuming my area rugs, but I absolutely hate to sweep and mop ….but…. I have a black lab and a large house cat and they leave a lot of fur and dander all over the house. I would not recommend using this Hydro vac to vacuum area rugs, but it works really well to vacuum and mop the laminate floors. After vacuuming, I did use it to freshen up my area rugs, and it worked very well. However, when I cleaned the bottom, dirty water container, there was a large amount of hair that had to be cleaned out, and it took several minutes. I would recommend vacuuming first. I hate to mop, but this is an absolute joy to work with. You simply fill up the water container with some cleaning liquid and warm water and off you go. Mine did not work the first time I used it, I could not get the water to go through and get the brush to roll. After watching a Google video on troubleshooting, I found one that was very explicit about taking a paper clip and poking it through the hole at the very bottom of the water container. This worked perfectly, once I poked that hole completely, the Hydro vac started working immediately and left my floors very clean, almost completely dry and smelling like a dream. I don’t think my house has ever been so clean since we moved in seven years ago. It came with a good charge, but I did charge it for the recommended four hours before use. We have a small house, only about 800 ft.² and it can very easily clean our entire house on one charge. I absolutely love it, and would highly recommend it. I have been looking at this for a couple years, I’m so glad I finally purchased it! It is very easy to maneuver under and around any furniture. It stops working as soon as the water container is empty, and you simply clean and dump out the bottom container and you’re off and running again very quickly. And it has great suction power so it leaves. The floor is almost completely dry and I don’t have to keep the dog and cat and Husband outside for 20 minutes. ... show more

The Shark HydrozVac MessMaster is light weight, easy to maneuver, cleans good on one or two strokes, and the water volume is minimal so floors dry quickly. If there are any complaints it's with the solution volume and battery life. We have a 3400 sq foot house. To clean the vinyl plank floors, you have to fill the solution holder 8 or 9 times and charge the battery at least 4 times. Now I've learned this is not a vacuum where you go over the same spot a half a dozen times. One or two strokes is all you need. Anything more just wastes solution and battery. And since its not a "vacuum", if you have pet hair, etc., vacuum first then clean with the HydroVac. Also, you don't need to use the expensive solution to clean vinyl floors. Fill the solution holder with water, I prefer distilled water, then 1 or 2 drops of Dawn Dish soap. Don't use a lot, you don't need suds or bubbles. It works great and is mostly streak free. I have both ceramic tile and wood flooring in my home. I have tried all sorts of mops over years, but all were very disappointing in their results. I would end up having to get down on my hands and knees to scrub the floors. At my age, that is painful and takes forever. The Shark Genius Steam Pocket Mop changed all of that. It does a great job. It doesn't leak, It fits into tight spaces, the blasts of steam lift off stubborn stains and spills. The mop head cloths are easily removed and can be dropped into the washer and dryer. You can even buy extra mop head cloths so you don't run out when doing the whole house. Setting the scene-mom who works full time, 3 teenage boys,1 dog and 3 cats. Live in Wisconsin where mud season is about 40%of the year. Wanted something for light daily cleaning of hard floors. Received this today and have cleaned my whole 2 story ranch house. Currently March so beginning of mud season. I did not sweep prior to using just to see how it would do and it met expectations. Picked up lots of dirt, pet hair and other things. Also cleaned the basement gaming/teenage area and pet litter box area. It did amazing! Picked up kitty litter. Cleaning solution is not super strong scented which I like. Over all great so far. Machine is light weight. This would also be great for older folks in apartments. Only downfall would be emptying the dirty tank, but hoping it won’t be that bad after regular use. Update- have now used it 2-3x per week, still cleans good, downfall is that if you have pets and dirt, it gets behind the roller brush and is gross to clean out.
