I love this vacuum cleaner! I’m a petite girl so I need a light weight vacuum. This vacuum is so light that I have no problem carrying it around. I love the fact that the brush never gets hair caught in it, and it’s small enough to fit under furniture and behind couches. I like the fact that the top comes off and can be used as a handheld vacuum. It’s got a lot of power, a great suction. I get my whole house clean now in no time. It vacuums hardwood floors and carpets. It’s really a great value.

I purchased this vacuum to replace a Dyson DC 41 Animal that finally had enough broken parts that I didn't see the point in spending any more money on it. After doing some research, I found that this model was highly rated in several categories, so I went ahead and purchased it. Overall I'm very happy with it. It does a great job and picking up cat hair. The Dyson did a good job, but this vacuum seems to get a lot more. The device is reasonably light weight and is quite easy to move around. I purchased the corded version because I wasn't really bothered by using a corded machine and I figured this would be a little more powerful. The device has some interesting features. It comes apart in different ways so you can use it on stairs, to clean a car, etc. It has a few attachments. One of them was quite good at getting cat hair out of a blanket the cats like to sleep on. There are a few things that I wish were better, but these are mostly minor issues. I wish the machine was slightly wider. It's less than a foot wide and just having one or two more inches would be good. The dirt collector is tiny. I realize this isn't a big vacuum like the Dyson, but with our cats it takes no time at all to fill up the collector. It's easy to dump out, but it would be nice if it were a little bigger. The vacuum will work on shorter, plush carpet, but sometimes it can be a bit of work to push it. Sometimes it seems to go quite easily, other times it seems to be more draggy. I'm happy with the way it cleans, so this is just a minor annoyance. It works great on rugs, although you have to be careful if you use it on a very thin rug since it can easily be sucked into the base. I wish the machine came with some sort of 'dusting' attachment. I would like something with soft bristles that could be used to clean up areas that are hard to reach with the full vacuum but are really appropriate for the current set of attachments. The final issue concerns the cord. It's a minor thing, but the cord is really stiff and it doesn't 'roll out' easily. My machine is new so maybe it will relax as time goes on, but right now it tends to get caught on things because the bends in the cord from storing it tend not to relax. A minor quibble and it makes me wonder if the cordless device would have been a better choice.

I like the upgrades in this Shark vacuum cleaner from my last Shark. They kept the duo clean system along with the self- cleaning brushroll to eliminate the dreaded hairwrap. I really like the return of the 30 foot extension cord from the 25 foot cord on my previous Shark. The additional 5 feet makes a big difference for me. The floor detect technology is awesome as it automatically senses the difference between hard floors and carpets and adjusts the brushrolls which is great when I am cleaning a hard floor with area rugs. Another plus is the ability to switch to a manual surface mode for hard floor or carpet where it stays on the type of surface you choose. I like that it is self-standing when the vacuum head is on the wand or the head can be detached and set on the storage hook like previous Sharks. The only negative is the odor cartridge which has a disgusting perfumy reek. You can adjust the amount of odor released or just remove the cartridge completely. I think I will just keep the cartridge in and set it for the minimum intensity setting and never replace it so it will eventually lose it’s smell. The precision duster attachment has a smaller nozzle with an attached brush that has a more controllable suction than a regular sized nozzle. I like Sharks because of their cleaning performance and this style which is light and easy to maneuver and they keep improving it.

I gave up on all the battery vacuums. If you want a light weight vacuum for quick cleanups buy this one. The power cord is not that big of a problem and it gets the job done. Great filters, good power and well priced.

I bought the powerdetect to give it a try and I’ve been very impressed with the suction, maneuverability, ease of use for the corded stick vacuum after one month of use three times a week. It picks up dog and cat hair very well even during summer shedding season. The cord is not as stiff as I was expecting based on other reviews but it is sturdier than most other vacuums I have had. Cleaning it is a breeze, the dust container is small but easily emptied, and there aren’t a million filters or compartments that need to be emptied or checked for debris. Beware of the suction power because I caught the power cord on the first use; I haven’t done that since I was a child! Design is sleek, clearly labeled, and powerful. I don’t find the noise any worse than any of my other vacuums, only there is a squeal on back strokes when used on rugs. It’s a vacuum! You still can’t talk on the phone or watch tv while someone is vacuuming. I find it works great on rugs and hardwood or tile with no need for manual adjustments when moving from one surface to another. Well worth the money.
