    • Perfect Size and Shape that rides well in a vehicle seat
This unit is an updated version of Setpower's other line that they sell. It has great features from the wheels, the swinging flexible lift/pull handles that is in addition to the the fixed built in type that it has. The reversible lid is awesome too and that opens from the either of wide sides that you choose to use. The big deal for use in the vehicle from the seated position is that the lid does not open from only one narrow side which requires less space needed to fully open it. If you plan to use this on a seat while motoring about, the lid will not jam hitting the vehicle ceiling like the others will do if the lid hinge were on the narrow end...that configuration requires much more above head space to fully open from a longer swing and this is a big deal if you like to have full access to the contents on the road from the seated position. The lid also has a two point catch/release to keep it from bouncing open and a tether to prevent it from toppling over when fully open. Plus, there is a good rubber seal that keeps the unit cold. Now, if you plan on tossing it in the car trunk or the back of an SUV or a Truck bed, this fully open from the interior of the vehicle wouldn't be an issue. For those that would like to have it nearby for the longer road stretches, this is the one IMHO. Also, of note is that the interior is smooth all the way throughout except for about a 1x2 inch perforated section on the upper side that allows for temp control - is my guess. The completely smooth interior makes it much easier to clean vs other units out there that have varied interior surface materials that have edge crevices and whatnot. Really nice and simple for cleaning. Also, bottle openers are built in for convenience at the handle locations which are made of strong shiny metal, IDK if they are Stainless Steel but, they look nice and offer functionality and convenience...probably will need to polish them every now and then. One other thing, the feet are molded into the bottom and the best thing is that the feet will not mark up your interior with black rubber skid marks that other models will surely do, especially noteworthy for those with leather seating...Also, the exterior is finger/paw print proof...for me, this unit is perfect so far in using from the seat access on the road w/out worry. Oh, as far as the electronic controls go they are easier to command than most, in fact, much more simple... meaning you will not need a PhD in EE to gain a quick grasp. Easy Peasy :) ... show more

    • Excellent road trip and camp companion!
This is their best value unit for durability, wheels for hauling, a bottle opener, better insulation and the more efficient compressor. There is one minor quirk to mention, but it's reasonable and overall a great purchase. I took this on a road trip in my 2018 F150, which has an inverter and BMS. It will run the fridge while I'm out for lunch or window shopping at stops along my route. I also took it to a friend's summer BBQ to keep perishables cold while stuck in traffic (e.g. prepared meat marinade). The vendor suggested to put the power management on low vs. the medium, which is set by default. So I did that. This unit does not have a precision temperature sensor, but it's close enough. It is basically accurate to plus or minus 4 degrees fahrenheit from the setting you place it on. I feel that is reasonable, as it keeps the fridge efficient in between having to turn on frequently. My ideal temperature zone for all things is 33 F, which gets down to 29 when it shuts off, then turns on at 38. So it never goes above 40 (the danger zone) and it's quick enough to cool down again. You don't want carbonated cans below 32 for more than 2 hours either, so 33 is the ideal setting for my varied type of perishables. This did amazing from Medford, OR, to Nevada City, CA, stocking up at Trader Joe's, as the selection in my friend's mountain town is incredibly limited for BBQ and specialty goods. I really like how it has held up for the last 6 months. I have it in the back of my Van so it has been put through some bumps and it also sits next to a 500 watt 10 inch sub. The vibrations of the sub didn't even phase it. In my opinion i think this is a beast. I have had it now for 6 months now. Took it camping and it was sweet. We had some really hot days when we went camping and we always had a really nice cold water and etc... I still took once bag of ice with us for the other cooler. Because of the fridge we were not weighed down by ice, a gigantic 60 liter cooler and water like we used to be. i got rid of that stupid 60 liter cooler and freed up a crap load of space that we desperately needed. We had plenty of room for meats and cold food with a party of 5 people. It worked like a champ on the hot days on long drives. i mainly bought it to keep my insulin nice and cold on those hot days and for camping. Got a small 300watt jackery and it powered it no problem on those hot days. just remember on hot days its going to tax the jackery solar battery. I think you get your money's worth. this is my first fridge so i have nothing to compare it to. Its still running strong with no issues 6 months later. i am not sure 6 months later will constitute a long term review but i did promise to come back after some time and give a quick short review on it. I have no issues with it other than be careful with the cigarette lighter end. i accidently dropped the end of the powerplug on the ground and it is a tad finicky because of that. just make sure you have the power plug secure in the jackery lighter socket. I hope this review helps and i hope setpower will incorporate some other features i see in the other fridges that are on the market with this model. Totally realistic for long term drives and out in the middle of nowhere. for the price i got if 4 you cannot go wrong. do not go spend your hard earned money on a fridge that is super expensive like ARB or Dometic when you can pick something up like this for much cheaper. when you buy one of these refridgerators please buy a solar battery that has a 12 volt regulated power supply and with pass through charging. you can run the solar battery down without having to use the electric cutout feature. Your car is a different story because it doesn't have a 12 volt regulated power supply. The only time you use that feature is if you have your fridge directly powered to your car so it wont kill your car battery. With the jackery you don't have to worry about it unless you are running multiple things. the most wattage i saw it draw was around 50 watts. Get the Jackery that has the speed charging. it makes a world of difference. i hope people find this useful. Thank you and Respectfully, Brian ... show more
