I've had a few of what I consider economy office chairs. I'm impressed with the sturdy build of this Serta. The adjustment knob under the seat works great for regulating the degree of tension while reclining. I have no illusions about the longevity of the bonded leather. I hope to get two to three years before the inevitable pealing begins, and a few more before it's an eyesore. Until then I think it will be a comfortable chair. The padding is generous, the lumbar is firm and the quality is better than expected at this price point. Assembly was simple. Not sure why some reviewers have had difficulty. it definitely is a chair. it was easy to put together aside from one, sad, angry screw that refused to screw in all the way... but everything else was easy enough. there is a plastic cover that comes with the up/down release thingy and it doesn't mention it in the instructions at all, so i didn't put it on the chair and uh... now i can't take it apart to put it on. so. be warned?? comfort is pretty good, you can lean back in it but the chair back is static so you're not truly reclining! just be aware. the cushion is pretty comfy actually, but i will probably end up getting a lumbar pillow at some point because there is little support. i know their other chairs do offer more lumbar support though, so if that's something you need i'd look at their arlington chair. the fabric is really nice! i literally only got this chair because i wanted fabric and HATE fake leather. so, if you're like me, i would recommend this chair. :) ... show more

Looks good in the pictures and day one was mildly comfortable. DO NOT BUY this if you plan to use it. DO NOT BUY this if you are working from home. I honestly have not been this disappointed in a purchase from amazon ever. $171 dollars out the window. I cannot come up with the words to describe how pathetic and junky this product is. It is very obvious the manufacturer had every intention of ripping of the customer. Why so disappointed? I purchased this product on June 15, 2020 to replace an old chair because I started working from home due to COVID. Within weeks the seat pad is down to nothing and I had to buy a Amazon memory foam pad to help out my rear. It would hurt after sitting for more then a couple hours, worse then sitting on a metal chair. Next the material on the arms is too rough and textured, I find my self with irritated elbows by the end of the day. Then it began making all kinds of noises here recently, squeaking and creaking noises. And now finally the chair height is lowering and now longer holds its position. I weigh 195 pounds NOT 500. Today, November 11, 2020 I am chairing shopping again. Total garbage product. PLEASE DO NOT BUY!!! ... show more

Fairly easy to put together, the back portion help you keep correct posture. The lifting and tilt locks feel good, my previous chairs I have owned these would not be good. This and would end up leaning back to much and making me go in to bad posture. The seat portion needs more support, does not feel like anything is even there and I am just sitting on wood. Extra padding and maybe a lumbar support would addon pillow make it better. ... show more

This chair is beyond comfortable. I work from home and I primarily sit for then entire time aside from breaks and runs to the bathroom or to let my dog out. By the end of the workday, my old chair would leave me sore and stiff but this chair is so big and comfy. I had some difficulty putting it together but it was because one of the screws was not fitting into the pre-drilled holes properly and I had to force it in. The instructions for putting it together were super easy, and it didn’t take me too long to get it all set up. It’s super comfy, and the fabric is the perfect shade of pink. The upholstery is soft and I definitely wanted something fabric…I’m in Florida and my old leather chair would make me sweat like crazy. That chair is also a Serta so I knew it would be good quality.
