  • Amazing Infrared Sauna and Customer Service.
Style: Standard
I love my Serenelife infrared full sized portable Sauna! It's perfect for home use and feels just like the gym sauna. It is very easy to assemble. I assembled it easily with little use of instructions, the picture diagrams were great to follow. I purchased my first sauna in November of 2019. I used it every other day as it helps with my chronic pain, the heat is very comparable to the sauna I used at the gym, the warmth soothes my aching joints and muscles. It also relaxes me, as I use my time in the sauna to meditate, pray and get ready for my day. Well in November 2020, my sauna just stopped working. I was devastated! I emailed and called the company, long story short, the customer service I received from (Caleb) was awesome. You see a I have an Autoimmune disease and this sauna really helps me so very much, as stated before in pain relief, mind clarity and an overall feeling of wellness, that's what I get when I use my sauna. The company sent me a replacement in January 2021, I was overjoyed and ever so grateful to be able to continue using my Serenelife infrared full sized portable sauna, I sit in my sauna chair and feel sauna heaven. The replacement Sauna is great, because I can unzip it from the inside, without having to use the velcro window as I did with the previous one. Soo, they sent me an upgrade. Thank you serenelife, soo very much for honoring your warranty. I am sitting in my sauna as I write this review. May your company continue to help those of us, who can no longer go to a gym. I am so very thankful. Caleb's customer service was great, he let me know every step he was taking along the way to help me. Thank you Serenelife for creating such a wonderful full sized sauna. I am so glad to be your customer and am sharing the good news with others. God Bless you and your business. ... show more

  • Good product and service
Style: Standard
PERFORMANCE -I have had this for almost a year, and I use it regularly, integrating thermal therapy into my routine for physical and emotional well-being. It works great and gives me the big sweats I’m looking for. It’s a treat to have in my home for a minimal cost. Note that ambient temperature does impact performance. It has no problem reaching high temperature in a standard living space, however it can struggle if you set it up in a garage or other colder location. I have found that draping a quilted furniture blanket or two over the top and sides helps mitigate this and allows it to preheat to over 130 degrees- which is plenty high for infrared heat. I always avoid covering the wiring/ fuse box on the back though, as it seems best to allow that to access the ambient air to cool. SERVICE- Alas, my unit did have an issue. It quit working unexpectedly after it was on for an extended period. I reached out to the company, and they worked with me to evaluate the problem. They determined that the electrical components needed to be replaced, and they sent me everything I needed to make the repair. Within a couple of weeks I was back in business- the business of enjoying long sweats. SIDE NOTE- if you’re used to traditional Scandinavian style saunas, with hot rocks and occasional eucalyptus/water steam, do what I did and get yourself a small humidifier/ diffuser and set it up inside. You can run the power in with the rest of the wiring bundle in the back of the tent. Adding the aromatherapy element has made this thing even better. ... show more

  • Experience with SereneLife Sauna
Style: Standard
Due to recent developments, I have rewritten this review completely to describe the problems that I have experienced with the unit, the eventual support the manufacturer provided and to reflect a higher start rating. I have had the unit now for almost two months and my wife has done 22-30minute saunas in it so that is the extent of our experience with it. The unit heats up well, and unoccupied, it will reach 140-degrees as the specifications state. As soon as a person goes into it, the temperature drops substantially due to the body being a heat load, but in 30-minutes it recovers and gets the temperature back up to 130-degrees. If a person stayed in it long enough, I am confident the unit would climb back to 140-degrees but the person would be baked. So, the unit is heating up well. The unit is reasonably built for a portable unit, so no complain there. One problem that I have discovered is the handheld control unit that displays the internal temperature does not provide an accurate reading. It is off by approximately 15-degrees when the unit is fully heated up and less at lower settings. A work-around for this deficiency is to recognize the temperature display is only a relative indicator of the actual temperature, and to use a good thermometer to check the actual temperature. More on my efforts to get this problem resolved below. A second problem that I discovered has to do with the timer function. I set in a time for the unit to run, and the unit does not enact that setting and instead continues to use the previous setting. A work-around is to set the desired time, wait a moment, turn the unit off and then back on. The new time will then be enacted. An easy work around, and if described in the manual, it would be just fine but no mention of this quirk in the manual. In an effort to resolve these two problems, I contacted the manufacturer but response was so slow so I turned to Amazon for a replacement. Amazon sent me a replacement unit, and rather than disassemble my unit and assemble the replacement unit, I decided it would be simpler to swap out the controller, temperature sensor and handheld device. This is what I did and found the exact same problems existed afterwards. It seems these two quirky problems are just part of the characteristic of the unit. It is not a fault in the unit at all -- just the way it works. If the manufacturer described the unit’s operation better in the manual, most users could adapt to them. Unfortunately, the installation sheet is really lacking. One has to have some intuition to put it together. Many steps omitted and I got it put together through much deduction. The manufacturer did finally come on board and asked what could be done to satisfy me. My first choice was to get these two quirky problems resolved. The second choice was a momentary compensation for having a unit which I believe is not working correctly. The manufacture chose option two which we agreed on, and I am most satisfied with the arrangement. I have a unit that works reasonably well, albeit requires the use of work-arounds, but for a reasonable price too. My recommendation to anyone considering purchasing a SereneLife sauna is to understand the quirks the unit has before buying one. Personally, I think it is good value for the price and the quirks with the work-arounds are not that much of an annoyance. ... show more

  • Glad I bought it in 2024 pretty awesome investment!!!
Style: Standard
Now I got this way before the price went up. Overall, I give it a 5 star due to its being pretty awesome. But I will say this I wish bigger heating panels where provided also replacement ones just in case, wish that you were able to control the foot and main heating areas better and easier, the actual material of the whole sauna wish was thicker to include the zippers. Not sure if the red light is truly “Red Light Therapy”. Yea I know it sounds like complaints but overall the thing does get really hot fast and during. Easy to set up, definitely able to relax, easy to move around, cleaning is easy, design well as mentioned above if they were to upgrade and invest in better thicker material yea I’d buy another one oh and bigger for two people and more room yea I’d buy it again. Listen not to everyone can buy a $1K+ sauna. If you’re tight on space and money I’d recommend you to buy this one. Now if they could provide a cold plunge that doesn’t cost an arm and leg and your first child. That would be awesome. ... show more

  • Very disappointing and discouraging
Style: Standard
We selected the IR unit. The instructions are a series of drawings, there are no words. The set-up process is cumbersome; the cartoon drawings are challenging to interpret. My husband set it up; he's an engineer. Set up is a two-person task. The chair is said to be comfortable. It is not. I am a 5'3" flexible, smallish woman; it is not comfortable. I replaced the chair after one session. The video says to sit back and relax. It is not possible. If you prefer to straighten your legs, you need to consider a something different. It is not physically possible to lean back OR straighten your legs; doing both is out of the question. While in the unit, I sit up straight with feet flat on the floor, similar to the model in the video. My shoulders barely clear the back wall and my toes are about an inch from the front wall. Once set up, the unit heated promptly and maintained the temperature as set; the remote works splendidly. For the detox benefits, spending 20-30 minutes is tolerable. Do not expect to be seated comfortably. This paragraph was written shortly after installing the sauna. The following paragraph was written after several weeks of use. After about six weeks of use, our enthusiasm is cooling. After several weeks use, we both noticed the sauna was not reaching target temp. Temps were progressively falling lower and lower, session over session. The exterior walls felt very warm leading us to conclude heat was escaping. We added insulated batting between the heating units and interior walls. This seemed to improve things. Temporarily. After several weeks of watching the temps continue to slip, little by little, we added batting to the back wall. Typically, I plug it in about 10-15 prior to my session. I use it after I work out, it is in the gym, which is toasty warm by then. Prior to opening the zipper, I see the internal temp is between 100-105. It loses some heat as you enter. Today it climbed to 114, then rapidly began slipping. I will often turn it off, then back on, which sometimes helps. Today I did not see improvement. I used an ice cube on the temp probe, until the monitor showed a temp of about 60. This seemed to encourage it. Going forward, we have absolutely no confidence in it and are sorely disappointed. We both felt benefit from using it. Two more frustrating and disappointing weeks of watching temps continue to fall, we tried various tricks. The most recent was moving the temp sensor to the outside of the tent, thinking maybe that would cause the controller to ask for more heat. I logged time and temp for about 50 minutes today. The high was 109 and the low was below 100, checking the temp every three or four minutes. Earlier this week I took two very dependable thermometers and was somewhat surprised to see that the temps displayed on the remote squared with the temps on the thermometers. This begs the question: If the set temp is 130 and the remote is reporting a temp of 99, why doesn’t the thermostat/controller call for more heat? I contacted Serene Life earlier this week. As of this moment I have not had the courtesy of a reply. Based on the Amazon reviews, it appears that many customers have had better results than I and have enjoyed using their saunas. I congratulate them. Sadly, I was not part of that group. Today we disassembled the beast, packed it into its box and are sending it back. My advice to anyone considering this unit from Amazon, buy it in early November when Amazon’s holiday return policy is modified beyond the usual 30 days. ... show more

  • Well worth the money!
Style: Standard
So I was skeptical from watching all the different reviews and videos online (Amazon & YouTube) and couldn’t decide between this and a steam style sauna but I ultimately chose the infrared sauna. Assembly was easy and I did it by myself in 10 minutes. The sauna works perfectly and it’s gotten to 120 degrees for me. I sweat like crazy in 120 degrees so people complaining it doesn’t get to 140 degrees is just crazy to me because I think that would be just way too much. I bought a thermometer and put it inside the sauna and it matches up exactly with what the remote says so I know it’s accurate. I’ve never used the foot pad because I just can’t justify making my feet sweat. I use this 1-2 times a day and it detoxes you and makes you sweat out water weight. I don’t really have any complaints with the exception of the funky (plastic) type smell you have for the first couple of uses. I did change/add a few things to make it more comfortable and beneficial. 1. Bought a sauna suit, 2. Put a PLASTIC folding chair inside instead of the one it comes with as you can wash it off and not end up with a stinky camping chair like what’s provided, 3. I bought an air diffuser so that I can have it going and you can put whatever sent oils you like such as Tea Tree Oil etc. Well worth the money and a lot better than going to the gym sauna where your sitting in everybody’s else’s sweat puddles. I love this thing. If you don’t like it, you can return it🤷🏻♂️ ... show more

  • Truly Love this Sauna
Style: Standard
I really don't write reviews but I felt I had to on this one. After a bad experience with a steam sauna a couple years ago I was never going to get another one. But when Covid shut everything down I found I missed the Sauna most of all and decided to give it another try. At the price I figured if it better last a couple years minimum to make it worth while. When I got it it was easy to assemble and even though I am 6'2" and a bit over weight I was able to fit comfortably inside (I use a folding chair instead of the one they provide). It is also easy to clean and wash (Although you have to be careful about putting the heating panels back in the cloth covers because the edges can tear it. But that wouldn't stop it from working. I absolutely loved it. The ambient temperature in my apartment can be on the cold side which affect how high the temp inside can get but I throw a towel or blanket over the top and can get a few more degrees out of it. I have loved this so much I tell everyone I know about it, even if they are NOT in the market for a personal sauna. Now to why I felt I would write a rare review. I use it far more than the recommended amount and in 9 month it suddenly stopped working. I was very angry. "If I have to buy one once a year than this is not worth it." HOWEVER, I contacted customer service and they sent me a replacement fuse and in less than 5 minutes it was back to it's former glory. This is a solid product and great customer service. The ONLY complaint I have is at 6'2" and 220 overweight pounds I would like to be able to move and/or stretch while inside. Right now all I can really do is just sit. A larger version would be great like twice as wide and a couple inches taller. ... show more

  • Not Actually Infrared - Just A Red Light Bulb - But Still A Nice Sweat Session
Style: Standard
So this is not true infrared. This sauna is heated by 3 panels, and there is a red light bulb above that makes it look as though it could be infrared. But an infrared sauna heats your body only through infrared. That is not how this works. The setup was not terribly difficult. I was able to do it on my own in under an hour. The max temperature is 140 F, but I've never seen it get anywhere close to that. Even after running the sauna for over an hour, the max temp I've seen is 125 F. I asked the company about it and they said buy a different thermometer and try it because probably their thermometer isn't good... Having said all that, I've been using the sauna usually 4-5 evenings per week for about 20-30 minutes at a time. I let it heat up for at least 10 minutes first, which on average gets the sauna temperature to about 110 F. Once I get in, the temperature drops a bit, but eventually makes its way to about 118-120F over the course of the next 20-30 minutes. Every so often I'll see it get to about 123F, but not often. I do get a reasonable sweat starting after about 10 minutes in the sauna, and once I start sweating I stay in about 10-15 min. It's a good starter sauna. A good introduction to creating the habit of some self care without spending an exhorbitant amount of money. But is it therapeutic grade? No. It cannot reach the temperatures that are required for a therapeutic experience. Would I buy it again? Maybe. But I think once this one no longer works (hopefully it lasts a reasonable amount of time considering it was several hundred dollars), I'll probably invest in something a bit more robust. It's OK. I'd recommend it to someone wanting a low cost sauna. It's not perfect. But it does a reasonable job for what it is and for what you're paying for. ... show more
