My partner asked for a large timer with magnet for umpiring, he loves this thing. Holds tight to fence post, he can hear the alarm, and he was surprised to inform me that he can see it well at night and most of the day. He has to "shade it" with his hand only for a few times during the day depending on the direction they face.

I have generally used my phone for timers when doing certain tasks in the kitchen. I was intrigued by this device so I bought it. The display is nice. When you take it out of the package, it's surprisingly light, which left me a bit concerned with the build quality. It's definitely on the plastic-y side as far as the materials go. I stuck it to my fridge and the magnet wasn't very strong, but I realized there's plastic film covering the magnets. Once removed it holds well. The setup is easy, you simply spin the dial clockwise to increase time, or counterclockwise to reduce it. Or you can depress the display in particular quadrants for quick time adjustments. The chime is quite audible and it can be heard in another room. I really wish the outer ring was metal, as that would have given it that premium feel that we all want. I'd pay $50 for it if it had that. But for the $10 or so, I paid, it's a reasonable deal. 4 stars.

It’s just okay. It counts down fine. The magnets are farther apart than I wanted so it won’t hang on my oven hood like the old one did. You really can’t spin it while it’s attached because the magnets are not strong enough to hold it in place, so one-hand use is not realistic. Sometimes it’s hard to get precisely the time you want becuase it’ll just start jumping in 5 minute increments even though I’m spinning it slowly. The display is large and easy to see.
