I've played with this paddle for about 6 weeks now. It's both my favorite and highest value (monetarily) of the 8 or 10 I've played with since I started playing 8 months ago. The predominant aspect I like about this one is that it just feels better in the hand than the others I've used. It feels 'right'. It has a little longer grip, the playing surface is thicker, and it comes with weights on the sides. All of which I feel contribute to this feeling. As a life-long woodworker and consequently, hand tool user, if this were a chisel for instance, I would say it feels balanced. That said, I could do with less paint. The painted areas are smoother and since I also feel the paddle could do with a coarser surface (this one is similar to 800 grit sandpaper), those painted areas create an inconsistant surface which is close to 2000 grit. This results in a different spin on the ball depending on how much paint (or not) the ball contacts when struck. This paddle is also "softer", which is to say, more striking force is absorbed by the paddle than less expensive paddles I've used. I want to say this is a good thing because it allows more range in the force used which, in turn, allows more control. Another positive, at least for me who, according to glove makers, have extra-large hands, is that the grip is longer than most other paddles. Note that the pics show actual dimensions. ... show more

I've played with 20+ paddles for Pickleball and this is by far the worst paddle I have ever used. It has no positive qualities and is so weak and flat that it would be especially frustrating for a new player who will be competing against players using well made paddles. There is a reason that Selkirk is not used by many professionals and this sub-brand of SLK tries to leverage the Selkirk name but does so very poorly. Do no buy any SLK paddles and definitely do not purchase this specific paddle. Any $20 paddle would exceed this paddle's performance. ... show more
