  • Works, looks great from 10+ feet away (not wood)
I LOVE MY CLOCK! We printed a Denny's logo on sticker paper (from Staples) and carefully cut it out and placed it between the word SEIKO and the center of the clock. It looks like it is a "Denny's clock." In other words it is a fun, funky cool clock that you can easily remove the front glass on and replace if you want to logo yours up to make it even more fun. The wood grain is "okay" up close, but from 5-10' away it is "wonderful." NO TIME LOSS. The clock is accurate so far (4 months in). I am looking at it right now. It is 100% silent (like a clock ninja or something). The gold (tone) second hand sweeps smoothly (not a quartz tick-tick-tick action) and the hour and minute hands flow smoothly as well. Takes two batteries, easy to mount (one nail or a screw). Very light clock. Best use is to put it up at least 5-10 feet, preferably 10-20 from where the average person will glance at it. This way the illusion that it is a more expensive clock will not be shattered. It has a faux retro/antique feel to it. I really think the Denny's logo helped. It seemed a bit plain at first. Don't be fooled into thinking that this is real wood. It is high quality resin, and while it says "dark brown" it really is a medium, maybe even a 40% (being the lighter side of true medium) brown. Great clock if you never fuss with it. ... show more

  • Reddish dark brown
The wooden trim of the clock just received is darker and more red than on the picture. I like it even better, but I did not expect this shade. It came with mercury- and cadmium-free AA not rechargeable battery (insulated by a piece of paper) and a wood screw to hang it on the wall was attached. The stated size is quite vague: "Unisex - adult" :-) The stained oak wood frame is 1.25" wide and the clock's diameter is 13 inches. It is larger than all our wall clocks. The second hand, as well as the circles on the dial are brushed gold tone, the numerals as well as hour and minute hands are black. The Arabic numerals are 3 cm tall. Overall design provides pretty good visibility from a distance. The instructions (in English, French, German, Spanish, and Chinese) refer to a start/stop switch (some models don't have it), but there is no such switch on the movement case. They also state the battery life is about one year. The adjustment mechanism has a double pointed arrow, so it does not matter which way you turn the hands. The SKP quartz movement has 0 jewels and is made in China, just like the case, and the box. There is a label stating the weight: 0.84 kg / 1.85 lbs. The limited warranty certificate (neither signed nor dated) states it is for one year. Amazon offers a 2-year warranty on the same model, and Princeton Watches (authorized Seiko dealer) extended it even to three years. However, the glass and clock accessories (?) are not covered and you have to mail it on your cost to New Jersey. So far it looks great and runs really quiet. I'll update my review in a few months, after I can assess its performance. ... show more

  • Beautiful and completely silent.
Extremely beautiful-looks like a classic Seiko clock. I have mine for about a week so below are my impressions after a week. The frame is real wood - at least looks real to me to the sight and touch. Completely silent. Accuracy is as expected for a quartz clock - mine runs about 1-2 seconds fast per week. I have mine on the wall just side to my computer desk so I can easily track the timing for work meetings. I look at this clock multiple times each day and besides being useful it’s beauty makes me happy each time I look at it. This clock will look great in many decoration styles but probably it is best for classic styles vs ultra modern. Overall I am very happy with the purchase. ... show more

  • Fantastic Wall clock
I am a wall clock quality fan and I am very particular about wood wall clocks as well as accuracy and reliability of time keeping. this clock meets all of my expectatoins so far. It is very nice as the wood is authentic and the numbers are so easy to read from a distance at 3m and there is no tic tac noise that you can hear as it is a quite sweep second hand. I love it on my wall and fits perfectly too to the interior design of my living room. really nice. ... show more

  • works smooth - minute hand moves gradually
Didn't hang it up yet but checked it. The minute hand moves very smooth like. No ticking. Like a rolex watch in a way. The battery was backwards but there was an insulator installed (cardboard piece) so I am glad I pulled the battery out and noticed this polarity difference. I don't know what would happen if you did install the battery backwards. Maybe nothing if diodes used. The wood finish is very nice. Would have been nice if the clock came with some hanging hardware. Takes 1 AA battery. It is pretty big and the appeal looks nice. I am now seeking hardware and finding the studs in the wall. I was thinking maybe using 3M hook or that picture hanging/locking tape (not velco but in a way similar). On the back to hang it up is a nail spot or inlet like feature as most other things. Has a clock box on the back. Usually this box is pretty standard in size. The back is plastic. I believe the front cover is glass instead of plastic with the cheap clocks. Worry about it falling though and smashing and shards going into you but hopefully not. The thought did occur when considering hanging the clock up near a bed or someone slamming a door too hard and it falling. The quiet feature hopefully is good enough for a room. I had bought a walmart one in the past for $5 instead of ~$50 and that was tick toc tick toc. That one went back to the store. I want to place this in a bedroom but I think it is more for a living area or kitchen maybe but if quiet, why not in a bedroom area. ... show more

  • Beautiful Clock
I needed a medium size clock for my kitchen so my 85-year old Mom could see the time. This clock has large numbers, is easy to read and is very quiet. My Mom loves it!
