I actually purchased 4 units of an older version of this security camera—the SEHMUA Model RBX-S12—via Amazon in August 2025, but that specific model is no longer available via Amazon, and I am outside the 90 day window to leave seller feedback, so I am writing this review exclusively to inform potential customers of the fantastic customer service SEHMUA provided me. Recently (approximately 6 weeks before the 1 year warranty was due to expire), one of my units began continuously cycling on and off repeatedly every 15-20 seconds without any motion triggers, consequently the battery would deplete each night when no sunlight was available to charge the solar panel; also, the unit would sometimes also fail to respond to pan/tilt/zoom/focus commands. Up to that point the cameras all functioned beautifully; I have been very pleased with their performance, as they possess every feature one could desire in a security camera. Notably, my other 3 cameras of the same model continue to function perfectly, and stay 100% fully charged via their solar panels. I contacted the SEHMUA customer support team via the customer service link in the UBOX app, which was a breeze, since the app transmits data about the specific camera in question to the company as you chat. The AI assistant had several suggestions but was unable to resolve the problem by having me restart and then reset the camera, so it immediately got their service technicians Himansu and subsequently Monica involved. Their customer support team quickly worked through troubleshooting and gathered information (including having me submit a video of the cycling on/off malfunction) to address my issue. Once they quickly determined that the camera function could not be restored by resetting it or other means, they made arrangements to provide a replacement camera at once without any hesitation. Since the RBX-S12 model I had ordered x4 units last August is no longer offered on Amazon or the SEHMUA website, I had assumed I would receive some refurbished or lesser camera version as a replacement, so I was genuinely pleased and surprised that when I received the replacement camera kit, it was identical to my previous cameras, and was brand new, in the original box, and even included the solar panel (which was not necessary since the original panel was functioning fine, though having a replacement will be great if one of mine fails or is damaged by hail, etc.), charging cable, and mounting hardware. All this was accomplished in a span of less than 5 days from the time I reported the issue late on the evening of June 12, until the new camera kit arrived by expedited shipping the morning of June 17—unbelievable! I charged, paired, and installed the new camera, and it functions perfectly. I have never received such quick, efficient, courteous, and thorough customer or warranty service. Communication was superb throughout the process, and afterward, to make certain the replacement worked az expected. Best of all, SEHMUA advised me not to bother with returning the malfunctioning camera, and they even offered to send me a free microSD card and provide 1 year of cloud monitoring service for free for my trouble ((I declined since I was just happy to have the new camera installed and working, and didn’t need the card since I already had 4 128GB cards for the cameras—I use internal storage rather than the cloud service). This company and particularly their customer service team deserve to be commended for such excellent warranty service. I felt as if they took care of me as one would a valued family member. If you purchase one of their products and encounter an issue, you can be assured that they will take care of the problem to your satisfaction.

The camera itself is pretty easy to setup, it’s solar powered so there is not much to do besides mounting the camera and solar panel. Both the camera and solar panel come with their own screws and a drill template to know where to drill the screws. I do recommend using a level when mounting the camera so the image won’t look crooked. The app is also pretty easy to setup and use but I’m not a huge fan of its overall design quality. The app works but it definitely looks like a generic app with broken English, I have seen other cameras use the same app so it definitely wasn’t made specifically for this camera. The app requires an email to create an account and it also requires several permissions needed for it to work. The pairing process is explained step by step in the app and it’s pretty easy to do. The app has several features such as two way audio, pan/tilt, motion detection and a video playback if you install a micro sd for local storage. You have the option to get a cloud account but I would go with an sd for simplicity. My favorite feature in the app is the spotlight/ night vision option. The camera has both a strong LED light and infrared lights, the app lets you choose which one to use at night. Infrared works like regular night vision where the light is not visible but you can still see at night, the image will be in black and white. The LED option turns on a bright light which lets you see in color at night, the LED will light up your yard. The video quality looks pretty good but it’s definitely not as good as a wired version. The camera being wireless makes the image have compression issues. Everything up close looks very good but anything about 20ft back looks very compressed which means that you won’t be able to catch license plates or other images that may require zooming in. The video quality would be comparable to a smart doorbell or similar wireless device. The audio is also pretty good, the only issue it has is that you can’t adjust the speaker volume and it’s set very loud by default. The mic is also pretty good on the camera, it picks up sounds just fine. The mic seems to go into a quiet mode after a while and wakes up after a loud sound. It basically lowers quiet sounds like wind or crickets until a loud sound happens such as a voice or car passing by which raises the volume again. Motion detection is especially nice with this camera, I’m not getting false alarms from it. I’ve been getting notifications only when a person is in front of it so far. I haven’t gotten any notifications of animals or cars passing by which is perfect for me, I did set the sensitivity to very low so I’m sure you would get those notifications on high sensitivity. The battery seems to be quite good because I installed the camera during bad weather and it still going despite the small amount of sun it’s been getting. There is a battery indicator on the app that can be set to show a percentage but I doubt it’s accurate since it hasn’t moved out of 100% since installing, I do like that the battery indicator turns green when the solar panel is charging. The one thing I didn’t like about the camera is that it doesn’t have the option to turn off night vision completely. My yard is pretty well lit so I don’t really need night vision to be on but you can’t turn it off, you either have infrared or spot light during the night. I don’t think this is a camera downside, it’s more of an app downside. Overall the camera does seem to work pretty well, it has a good enough video quality and the app is pretty easy to use despite having a generic looking interface. I’m not really sure if the picture quality is actually 2k because it looks very similar to my 1080 doorbell. Either way a high resolution on a wireless camera doesn’t make much of a difference because they are still supper compressed unlike a wired version.
