  • Segway Navimow has finally earned Five Stars
Size: X430: Mows Up to 1 Acre
Final Update After working with them for over a month, the app and the mower are finally working and there is less hassle getting the yard mapped. The last headaches were the links that were sent in two separate emails before Google Play Store approved the update. Do not download any links sent via email from Segway as this download will erase all of your maps from the memory of the mower and you will have to remap your yard, which is a hassle if you have a big yard. Their IT department is not the best at knowing ahead of time if these links have glitches in them or how to correct the issues that occur after you have downloaded the link for an early premier of the app update before Google Play Store approves the update. The last thing I discovered with this mower is that it won't mow in areas where there are tall and skinny weeds...it will go around these areas because it sees the weed as an obstacle. Also, thick areas of weeds are an issue for this mower as well. My yard looked like a corn field after it mowed all of the dead weeds, and I had to hand control the mower over these areas to make the yard look better. The mower is working better since I no longer allow the grass to grow taller than three inches and have removed most of the weeds. I'm relieved this nightmare is over and that Segway Navimow has corrected the issues in the app with a new update. ---------- Update to my review which will remain at one star. 4/23/2026, after working with a customer service manager since 3/31/2026, the team has resorted to telling me today that there was a factory reset done to my mower on 4/13/2026. I have not physically done a factory reset to my mower and simply turning the mower off and turning it back on does not reset the mower. If that is the case, we are all in trouble when we shut the mower off to store it for the winter. There were several emails with download links that were sent to me by the customer service manager before the update link was published on Google Play Store. I am convinced one of the links the customer service manager sent me has messed up my app. Now when I click on the app my maps appear on the screen and after the mower connects via Bluetooth, the maps disappear and the screen showing the message no maps appears on the screen. I requested data from Segway because my mower log does not show a factory reset on 4/13/2026, and the report from Segway does not show a factory reset either. Because the tech team can't figure out why the maps disappear after the mower connects via Bluetooth, the customer service manager has informed me that I will have to redo all of my mapping. I have supplied screenshots of every issue involving the app and now I have requested a screenshot from the customer service manager showing the factory reset on my mower since she is indicating that they have a log showing that there was a factory reset done. -------- After I paired this device with Bluetooth in my phone and gave it permission to use my private Wi-Fi network, I experienced a high level of difficulty mapping the yard and getting the mapping saved to the app because instructions will flash for a few seconds while in the app on your phone screen and if you miss them, you will incorrectly map your yard, and it won't save to the app. Some of the tips are out of focus and in bright white lettering that appears on your screen, which is difficult to see. I contacted customer service and the agent was little to no help at all, but full of apologies. You will never receive a call or email from the tech team, but they will relay to the customer service agent that it will take them some time to figure out what is going on with your mower. I sent screen shot after screen shot to the customer service agent and the tech team still couldn't figure out what was causing my issues. On 3/26/2026, I finally saw the messages that had flashed on my screen for a few seconds since 3/23/2026 and finally understood what I was missing. Although, the screen was not in focus, I took a chance and pressed yes to letting the mower choose a path to my charging station when mapping was complete, because there were no options to do this manually on the manual mapping screen even though the customer service agent said the options should be there. As a result, my mapping was finally saved, and the mower did what I wanted it to do. The quick start guide is not useful as it does not give good instructions. You will have to restart the app often as it will not communicate with the mower during setup of mapping or calibration of the charging station, but once the app is able to communicate with the mower, it is smooth sailing from there. If you have a great deal of patience and determination to get this mower to do what you want, you will succeed in getting the mapping saved and get the mower up and running. My mower arrived on 3/23/2026, and I finally got it programmed and mowing by 3/26/2026. I could have had the mower up and running sooner had I not relied on the tech team to sit on their hands and do nothing. The mower mowed neatly and I am pleased with the result. I give one star right now because this device really should have been plug and play and should not have been as difficult as it was to set up and save my mapping. The unfocused screen with bright white lettering added to the difficulty. When I see improvements with the app I will move this review to five stars as the device is really impressive once it is up and running. It is satisfying to see that I was not defeated by the ignorance of the persons responsible for programming the app the way they did and that I succeeded in getting the mower set up and running on my own. ... show more

  • Promising mower after a difficult start
Size: X430: Mows Up to 1 Acre
I spent quite a bit of time researching and comparing different robotic mower models before choosing this one, so my expectations were high. The mower had a difficult start because the original charging setup was defective out of the box, so it could not charge during initial installation. That was frustrating for a brand-new product. However, after Navimow sent replacement parts for the power adapter and charging dock, the mower started working properly. On the technical and software side, it has been very impressive so far and has largely met my expectations. I have now mapped multiple zones, completed a full mowing run, and the robot is navigating well. It handles my yard layout nicely, moves confidently over uneven ground, and seems to deal well with slopes and obstacles. So far I have no real complaints about how the mower itself works. It has been easy to use and easy to map, although I am still early in the process and have not yet explored every feature in detail. My main criticism is the support communication during the replacement process. The issue was eventually resolved, but the communication was slower and less transparent than it should have been, especially around shipment status and timing. That is why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5: the mower itself looks very promising, but the out-of-box defect and the support experience made the initial ownership experience worse than it should have been. ... show more

  • Fantastic Mower, but don't make my mistakes.
Size: X430: Mows Up to 1 Acre
I was ready to return it. I was mad and frustrated until I realized my mistake. I unboxed it and installed the base charging station. Charged up the mower. Connected to the app and completed all steps (or so I thought). Got all updates installed (or so I thought). After fully charging I realized the charging station was just a little too close to my house and the GPS signals weren't good enough so I moved it just a few feet further from the house. After that I went to mapping. Driving the mower to my first zone I noticed the mower was tracking to the right like a car with a bad alignment. Then the thing kept telling me I was running into stuff but nothing was there. Then the front drive overheated. I was already getting frustrated and I had just gotten started. I managed to manually map my first zone and a channel to it. I let it get a full charge and sent it out for a one time mow. When it got to the zone it went mindlessly all over the zone. It kept stopping and waiting and turn and stopping and never really getting anywhere. So I stopped it and returned it to home. It wouldn't dock at the charger. Day 2 I broke out the instructions and read and read. I figured maybe it's losing it GPS with Network RTK because of the metal shop next to my house so I installed the RTK antenna and switched over to it. I also moved the charging station again. I had to remap my zone 1. Same thing and same problems. It wouldn't dock again. I'm tired of it already. Day 3 I think maybe it just doesn't mow straight line on one time mow so decided to set a schedule and see what it does. Does the same stuff. I am fed up and thinking I got a lemon. I started a return with Amazon. I start watching YouTube videos and found one mentioning setting up a vision free zone around the charging station and that would help it with docking problems. So I tried that and it worked. So I thought maybe vision is making it do all the crazy stuff in my zone 1. So I made the entire zone a vision free zone. Nope it's still acting crazier than a wired fenced old robot lawn mower mindlessly roaming the yard. I send it back to the charger. At least it's doing that part now. So late at night I'm tossing and turning and regretting life decisions. Then I thought "you know I've never shut off the power to the mower and restarted it even once". Just maybe the firmware updates don't install until it's rebooted. Surely it reboots itself automatically after an update though right? Apparently not because I got up and threw on a pair of shorts, braved the cold and rebooted the Mowers power. Then I enabled night mowing and sent it to mow one last time before I pack it all back up and send it back to Segway and write a bad review on Amazon. That doggone mower flew out to zone 1 and mowed beautiful straight as an arrow lines and finished the whole zone in about 50 minutes. This morning I finished setting up the rest of my yard into zones, marked off all of my no go zones, set it back to network rtk, and took out the rtk antenna. I sent it out to mow my new zones and it did them quick and straight and without any drama (and that's the way it should be). So these are the lessons I learned so that you don't have to 1. After firmware updated cycle the mower off and back on. 2. Set up a vision free zone at your charging station. Conclusion This mower is fantastic but if you do things like I did you will be wanting get it as far away from it as fast as you possibly can. My hope is that I can save just one person from a restless night with this review. ... show more
