    • Works great for PlayStation 4 extra memory storage
Have been using for little over a year now for our PlayStation 3 pro as extra storage for digital games. Has worked great. Was easy to install. Opened box plugged into the USB port of the PS4 with the provided cable. Went under settings to storage and clicked to format to the PS4 then under settings and clicked on use external storage so now our games automatically download to the external memory instead of using the PS4 memory storage. We always had to delete digital games then redownload when wanting to play the games that take up so much memory (fortnite takes up ALOT of memory with their constant updates). We have a lot of power surges where we live and this always fixes itself when the power clicks off. Hasn’t caused any issues with this memory device with all our power surges. Has worked great. I bought this for my PS4 (dec '21), and have kept all of my games on it. I only had one issue setting it up and that was the fact I did NOT plug it in FAST enough. I couldn't figure out why it was not being read by my PS4 and looked online, turns out that was the issue. I have since got a PS5 and it's plug and play. All of my PS4 games were on there, I was able to access them and play them immediately. Although the game save data was saved directly to the PS4, so I did have to transfer that to the external HD (or upload to cloud and access from there) to be able to resume any games from my save points.     • No more storage problems!
I'm giving 5 stars on all that apply to me because I see no issue with this HDD. I had purchased the 2TB one as a Christmas present for my Love since he plays various games with me and my bros. But I have one friend that wants to play nearly every game he finds interesting even with 1TB internal Harddrive I had to download and delete and reinstall my games. So I decided to purchase 4TB for myself, lets be honest it's not exactly 4TB we get to use but it is still more than 3TB. I can reinstall all of my games including some games I've had my sights on trying. Of course I had to format the drive but the playstation gives clear instructions to guide you and even formats it for you after you've followed said instructions. Now as for rest mode, we keep our drives connected besides the PS4 and when it turns on the Drive is still active continuously storing all those games. Almost plug and play. Just add using your PS5 setting. Follow the prompts then transfer your games to it. Best to use it for your PS4 games that play on your PS5. As of this review date, they play right from the external drive. Whereas the PS5 games only play from the internal drive. Also of this review date, Sony still hasn’t added the ability to add internal drive for the secondary slot. So this disk really helped to expand storage capacity for my PS5. ... show more

    • BE AWARE FOR COMPATIBILITY
This hard drive is exactly as described. I own the first PS4 gen and I noticed there's some performance capability issue. You can use it to backup or install application on it BUT if your playing a game that's copying on the Seagate HD, your gonna notice the ps4 will start acting up such as: major lag, controller disconnecting and moving on its own, some freeze, etc. It shouldn't be a problem with the PS4 pro since it has a better CPU upgrade than the previous. Testing: Copying few games that I wanted to play again. Testing whiteday, which I installed on the Seagate HD, noticed tons of game freezes and controller moved on its own. Moved the game application to my main storage and didn't run into any issues. Same with Evil Within and Overwatch. ... show more

Storage is good, it’s looks good and compact easy to set up. If you disconnect it by accident when you connect it again it’ll take a while to read and it’ll go back to normal.
