We had a different, quiet chiller for a year before it gave out. We got this one and it is obnoxiously loud. It scares our cats and the axolotl hides when it is on. It must have been dropped. The bottom of the metal case is pushed out, like the pump tried to escape through the bottom!!! There was a box inside a box. It's safe to say the cover over the cooling fans was damaged before Amazon received it!!! I'm pretty sure this thing is supposed to be kept up right to keep the oil in the pump and around the motor. There are no markings like fragile or this side up or even an arrow. I let it sit for an hour, upright, before I turned it on. It made some questionable sounds, but it is working. I should have just gone to a local store I don't think I saved much time, money or effort. I will be sure to update if it stops working! ... show more

Pros- it does keep the way at the desired temperature. Easy to set up. Cons- the inlet filleted on the pump clogs easily. So it needs to be monitored daily or more . The water lines produce a lot of condensation leaving a puddle on the floor. Overall I wouldn’t recommend buying this unit. I’d buy something higher end next time to avoid the pitfalls. ... show more
