This is exactly what I was looking for. Installed on my 2018 GTI on the glass of the infotainment system in the lower left corner. Phone blocks only a small portion of stereo. Perfect in every way. I love the minimalist approach with it's clean and modern look. I personally dislike the vent clip option as it blocks valuable air flow in summer and can't be used in winter as the heat will kill your phone. This is ideal. I'm not worried about future removal as there are plenty of YouTube how-to's that explain how to get these things off of all dash surfaces. Follow the instructions on application (clean surface). Yes, it's possible that in high heat with a vertical install on a dash, this may eventually fall off. If you're worried about that, a sunshade in the windshield would go a long way to cut down on direct exposure. ... show more

I’ve had this for about a year and it works very well. A stick on unit will not mount on my dash. This mount has held an IPhone 7 & 11. It does partially block the vent. I mount the magnet to one side of my phone to minimize interference with the vent and controls on the dash. Large magnet is particularly strong which I need and the off center magnet make the phone less stable. +Pluses -You can easily move it from car to car -I can’t imagine it not working on Any vehicle with any ventilation (maybe a golf cart) -It’s very simple -Phone is in the same space as control screen for the car. Everything in one glance. -Very secure mount vs an adhesive. Negatives -Mounts loser than some dash mounts if that’s important for you. Still the phone is in the same area as car controls for audio etc. -Partially covers.a vent. Basic part of the design. Issue can be minimized based on where you position the magnet ... show more

I've used the older Scoshe magnetic mounts with success but I liked that this one has pivoting head and a stronger magnet for larger phones. It was nicely packaged and everything seemed very nice. The tightening nut seems to be a hard plastic with a soft rubbery coating but it tightens nice and securely. I appreciate the inclusion of two faceplates and while the silver is nice, I much prefer the subtlety of the black. I'm weary of using adhesive products on my dash board and while you can see that it actually mostly fit into the single din tray, I decided to mount it on the passenger side dash facing the driver. Also, mounting it in the tray would block the majority of my head unit so I didn't want to block it. It went on ok but despite the bendable portions of the mount, my first attempt didn't go as well as I would have hoped. The curves of the dash caused part of the adhesive to not hold well. Since I wiped the dash down well with the alcohol swab provided, the adhesive lifted without too much of a problem and I reapplied it in a better position. It has held in the new position well and I have not been concerned about the fact that I removed it once and reapplied. I applied the metal plate to the back of my iPhone 7 plus case so it holds very well. I found that due to the positioning of the mount, it puts less stress on the adhesive to remove the phone from the mount from bottom to up as opposed to side to side. I imagine people will see similar results depending on how and where they mount this. While I so far trust the adhesive I wouldn't want to put unnecessary stress on the adhesive so I would warn against using it indelicately if it's been in the hot sun for a while. One thing I never really cared for about these mounts was that the rubber used would collect a lot of dust and lint and look messy. Since this mount comes with two removable faceplates, I cut a small piece of microfiber cloth and set it under the faceplate. The microfiber looks cleaner and nicer in my opinion and you can see for yourself in the pictures I posted. The one warning is that if you are using your magnetic plate under your case, the cloth may be too slick to hold onto your phone well. For my phone with the plate on the outside it holds great and actually is easier to turn into landscape easier without removing it from the mount. I like the mount but I have a hard time seeing twice the value here compared to the standard Scoshe mount at around $14. It is still a great mount that does what it is intended for but what I really appreciated about the original mounts was that they were reasonably priced for a great mount. In the end it holds strong to my dash and my phone and I appreciate the bonus removable face plate as well as the functional ball joint that allows for great positioning that holds extremely well. I docked one star just for the price but if the price doesn't bother you at all then consider this a 5 star mount that I can easily recommend. ... show more

It sticks solidly to your windshield and the magnets they give you are strong enough so that it doesn't fall off even in highway traffic. I recommend putting on the bigger magnet even if your phone is smaller. I have two small complains, the first is that it does NOT stick to a textured dash. If your dashboard is textured even a little bit like mine it won't stick. If I could, I'd give it 4.5/5 stars for that reason. The second, the little adjusting knob gets in the way, and doesn't let you properly adjust it. Otherwise if you don't mind sticking it to your windshield it works good. I have bought Scosche products before and they work great. This one it horable. I bought 2 of them and both failed. Cleaned the glass as instructed. I could get it to stick and seamed to work great. Would come out to my car a few hours later or the next day and the mount would be on the floor. I tried several times. This is the second time I have ordered the same product. The first one is in my personal vehicle, and I’ve had it for three or four years. I can remove it to clean the windshield, and yet it still fixes firmly to the windshield. Because it was so fantastic, I bought a second one for my work vehicle.
