I was looking to get a sauna for longevity reasons. Apparently sweating out toxins is beneficial, as I would have expected. But also it seems sweating benefits cardiovascular fitness as well. Slightly surprising. I didn't get one for a while as I thought I didn't have the room in my house, and they're way too expensive. Well, looks like they solved these problems here! Get a sweat on, with minimum fuss! At the end of the day, you're just sitting in some hot air. lol So there's three major pieces of this. The Chair, The Box, and the Steamer. The Chair - Basically a nylon lawn chair. Good basic design. And you can use it a lawn chair as it comes with the travel bag! You can also just use your own chair. Although I would be careful with some wood chairs, they might not like the heat and humidity. The Box - Easy to put together. Even has a bit of insulation. But basically just keeps the heat in. It's portable so you can move it into a closet when you're not using it. I wouldn't use the sauna in a closet though. Seems like you would want some ventilation! The Steamer - This makes the heat. Even comes with a little remote (including battey). Seems to heat up pretty quick. One last surprising thing, I couldn't believe this ships in a box as small as it does. I guess it's like furniture that you put together, very efficient for shipping. Very good value for the price!

Purchased this for my husband for Christmas and he LOVES it. It gets super steamy and feels great on a cold Michigan winter day or after a long day of work. The heat level is impressive and it’s easy to assemble. We had it up and running in less than 10 mins. The tent dries out quickly and the chair is surprising sturdy and comfortable

The sauna works amazingly well. It heats quickly, generating steam in 8-10 minutes. The zippers are hardy, and the tenting is sturdy and formidable, holding the damp heat nicely. It’s a simple affordable luxury.

We are actually quite happy with this purchase. It was actually recommended by my Doctor. Yes, primary physician, AMA guy, but also is open to any proven remedies that are out there. We have a hot tub, but he thought the steam option would help with some aches and pains that I have as well as clear out some things from my seasonal allergies. His comment was to the effect of "Amazon has them for about $100. What do you have to lose?". So as far as the actual functionality. It is basically a soft cover phone booth (for those of you who remember those) with a little chair inside. There is a built in plastic elbow the goes from the outside of the unit to the inside of the unit. Inside is a little puck sized device that sits on the floor of the unit. That is connected via a plastic tube to the elbow. This device really just diffuses the steam as it comes through the tube from the outside. It gets REALLY hot, so be careful where you place it. Think of the steaming device as a teapot with hose instead of a spout. The water in the pot boils creating steam that runs from the device to the elbow to deliver the steam to the inside of the unit. The little chair that it comes with is actually quite comfortable even though it looks child-size. I am 5'10' and it fits fine. The unit does NOT get steamy like one at a gym or spa would. It is more like being in a very steamy shower without the water. It was very warm, but not very hot. Just know what to expect. It took me a few uses to get used to the fact that it is not gym level steam, but it is still quite nice and for a hundred and change, I it find it a good value and would definitely recommend it. I bought the one that was a few inches larger and don't feel like I am confined in a box or anything like that. Be prepared that it does take about 15 minutes to actually heat up and have enough steam in it to actually use. When it is going you can hear the water boiling in the unit outside. It is not disturbing to me at all, but it is there. Also, we have ours outside and there are no lights inside, so it can be dark, so we just bought some $10-ish fairy lights from Amazon and have nice soft light inside.
