Satechi, in my experience, is a good brand, so I had somewhat high expectations for this, and while it lacks some aspects of an original Apple tracker, it does seem way better than any generic equivalents I've tried. I only travel a few times a year, so I haven't had a chance to use this on actual luggage yet -- however, instead, I've attached it to the backpack of one of my kids, both so I can keep track that they've made it to school or summer camp okay, and also so we can track down where they forgot their backpack when they inevitably leave it on the playground or in the hallway or wherever. I was also thinking I might put one on my work laptop bag, as I sometimes forget that places. You can wrap it around any strap/handle on the bag, or pop it in a pocket on the bag (although it'll work best if you put it in an outside pocket -- both to give it a better change of being able to connect to Bluetooth, and also so you'll have a better chance of hearing the chiming alert noise). Anyway, so far it seems to work well (as long as you can get in range of it / it can find an Apple/Bluetooth network to connect to that's compatible with this tracking system), feels durable, no complaints so far. Setup with Apple’s Find My was relatively easy. It charged up fine, and the alert chime is loud enough to hear even when your bag’s across the room. The materials feel solid — not flimsy or too plasticky — and the built-in privacy flap for contact info is a good idea. I really like that it’s rechargeable instead of using a battery like some other trackers (or, worse, some trackers like this, including some models from one of the biggest name tracking brands, can't even have their batteries recharged or replaced and have to be disposed of once the built-in non-rechargeable battery wears out, which is super-wasteful, so the rechargeable aspect of things here is important to me). I haven’t used it long enough to vouch for the full battery life claim, but so far, so good. One note: The product instructions say this won’t work with Android. I'm an Apple user, so that's fine by me, but something to keep in mind if you're not part of that ecosystem.

This travel accessory from Satechi, takes the simple concept of a luggage tag and adds Find My integration to make it even more useful in finding lost luggage. The vegan leather material here stands out as both premium and durable, and holds it own from the usual bumps and scrapes of being roughly handled by airport bag handlers . The integrated strap is a thoughtful touch, making it easy to attach without any additional clips and rings, and the magnetic closure on the ID window keeps everything tidy and secure. Combined that with a rechargeable battery that charges wireless through MagSafe and it's hard to go wrong with this luggage tag. Setting up Find My integration is simple and straightforward, and once you’re connected, tracking your bag becomes nearly effortless. Included is an extra contact card if your contact information ever needs changing, which is a nice touch. I’ve used similar luggage tags wit Find My, but the magnetic closure, vegan leather, and integrated strap sets this one apart. There’s a sense of polish throughout, from the feel of the materials to the way the features come together. If you’re after a luggage tag that blends style with functionality, this one checks all the boxes.

This term is difficult to know if it’s on or off. The instructions are very clear. I’m not sure if the buttons are just finicky to push, it ma just be user error. I do enjoy being able to locate my luggage. You can see if it’s been loaded on to the plane. But many airlines offer tracking on their site at not cost that gives you the same information. I do like the beeping function to see if the item going by is actually mine

Been using this for 10 days on my gym backpack. It’s flatter and more discreet than an AirTag — doesn’t bulge or draw attention. Solid build, space to tuck your contact info inside, and charges easily on my MagSafe stand. Setup tripped me up at first (my fault), but the manual helped me reset and pair it in under 15 minutes. Charges easily on my MagSafe stand — battery life seems great so far. I did get one false “left behind” alert on Day 1, but haven’t seen that since. It seems to work like AirTags — relying on nearby Apple devices to update location — but I’m honestly not 100% sure how the tracking network functions. If anyone knows, would love to hear. Still, it’s worked well so far, even pinged my Apple Watch when I forgot the bag. For the cost of two airport sandwiches and a sad bottle of water, it’s a worthy upgrade if you want something travel-ready and rechargeable.
