Work well to keep track of suitcases and apparently now have a limited term sharing option with some airlines so "we don't know where your bag is" won't apply. Replaceable batteries is a great plus.

The Apple AirTag 4 Pack is one of those products that doesn’t seem essential until you start using it, and then you wonder how you managed without it. These little trackers are simple, smart, and extremely effective at doing exactly what they’re designed to do: help you keep track of your important stuff. Setup is about as easy as it gets. If you have an iPhone or iPad, it’s literally a one-tap process. Bring the AirTag close, follow the on-screen prompts, name what you’re tracking, and you’re done. There’s no complicated pairing, no accounts to create, and no confusing steps. It feels very “Apple,” in the best way. Tracking performance is excellent. The Find My network is the real magic here. Because it uses Apple’s massive device network, AirTags can be located with impressive accuracy, even far from home. For items like keys, backpacks, luggage, or wallets, it gives real peace of mind. The precision finding feature is especially impressive, guiding you right to the item when it’s nearby instead of just showing a vague location. Real-world reliability has been solid. Location updates are timely, and notifications work well. Being alerted when you leave something behind is incredibly helpful and has already prevented lost items more than once. The sound alert is loud enough to hear in most situations, making it easy to find things that slip between couch cushions or end up in odd places. Battery life is another strong point. I have not tried any other type - however I do not need to as these really work. Have them on our dogs - paid off one time Have them on my keys - paid off a couple times. Have one in my car - well sometimes I forget where I park - this sorts it. Just bought 4 more for the wife - She lost her wallet the other day - turns out it was beside the seat in the car - we went to all the locations we went prior to - if we had a tag in there no problem.

I purchased an Apple AirTag for my backpack just in case while traveling to the UK, and I’m so glad I did. While exploring Edinburgh, I accidentally left my backpack behind at a bar and didn’t even realize it was missing until I arrived at Holyroodhouse and was asked if security could check my bag — cue instant panic.
