I bought this to double-check the temperature in my son's room. His baby camera has a thermostat that I wasn't sure was accurate as it was next to the heating vent. I placed the ThermoPro in other places in the bedroom and it confirmed the temperatures. The letter size is great because I can read it across the room. It is also compact and lightweight enough that I have been able to take it with me when I travel. No issues so far with the battery life but time will tell. I got this because I suspect that the central air has a problem. My bill went up 350 dollars for 2 people not doing anything different. Bill was never high before. Been here a long time but we rent. Landlord doesn't want to fix it. So I got this cause it was feeling very hot in the house. It was cooler outside than inside so it has a problem in the unit or thermostat. Hopefully this will convince the landlord that we have a problem. If not guess two old disabled people will be forced to move after years and years in the same place. Landlord doesn't want to spend any money. Hopefully this will gage the right temperature. It feels about right but my air unit doesn't. It is more of a problem than this. I just got it this afternoon but I don't know how accurate it is but if he comes out I will find out just how accurate it actually is. Will update it later. Cause it will be measured with something that is accurate. So we will see. But it feels like it is right but he will test it because there is a big difference between it and the thermostat. He will check it and see how accurate it is. Lol. Hope it is so he will fix the air unit. Either it or the thermostat is messed up. We will see just how accurate it actually is. It feels accurate but I don't have another thermometer to gage it to. Update: changed to a 5 star because it was checked with a professional machine and it was within less than one degree difference. So I'd say that it is pretty darned accurate. It is definitely worth the money. The old thermostat on my air went out and the unit was having some problems. So the actual air temperature in the room was checked next to this and it was less than 1 degree difference. For an 8 dollar thermometer it's accurate. I don't know how long it will hold up but it's been doing well. Whoever calibrated it was pretty close to being right on the mark I would recommend buying this one if you need an indoor thermometer.
