  • Good Flash Drive, Crappy design
Bought this because it was really cheap and has a decent amount of capacity (64GB model, really only about 56-58GB ) but there are a couple issues I have with thumb-drive. 1st one is the design, its a sliding design, which is great for storage but can be a pain in the arse when inserting it into the usb ports. The sliding mechanism doesnt lock when fully open/extended, therefore when you insert it, it will either not fully go in or close/slide back in. 2nd issue is the transfer speed. I'm aware that's its a 2.0 USB, but its a bit slower than my 5 year old 16GB PNY thumb-drive, which is also a 2.0 USB, also after using it on a few devices, this Flash drive has started getting an issue booting up, windows will need to repair it before being able to use it again (might be related to 1st issue though). Overall i recommend it if you need a cheap flash drive. ... show more

  • Only 58GB usable out of 64GB
The drive itself is OK to use but what irks me is that the drive is a whole 10% less than advertised. At first, I thought it was faulty and returned one to Amazon (as great as ever) for a new one. But that also formatted to the same capacity. Even after formatting to NTFS (which you should use as the default format method if you're not using a Mac), it still shows 58 GB. The included software takes up mere bytes. What is taking up a whole 6 GB on this drive ??? I needed 60GB minimum- now I have to get a 128 GB drive. NOTE TO SANDISK - DON'T ADVERTISE AS 64GB WHEN IT IS NOT 64GB. ... show more

  • Works for me but
I don't like the itsy bitsy teeny weeny (yes, I just said that) metal stub on the back that is way too small to fit through any normal key right, rope, string. I bought the 64gb and the 128gb.. clearly I didn't need both. I used a couple older thumb drives to move movies off my Chromebook to clear up some space. Those older thumb drives were very small and didn't hold much. I wanted to add some more so when the internet goes out (which is sadly often around here) I'd have movies available to watch. I haven't even opened the 128gb drive. Since these are made for Windows, when I put the 64gb drive in my Chromebook it said it's not compatible. I simply did a format. Then was able to easily drag some movies into this drive, downloaded a few more. As of right now I downloaded/moved a dozen movies to the 64gb drive and it says I have over 30gb's left. Right now I'm moving approx 500 HD pics I use for wallpaper on Chromecast to the drive for backup.. I haven't run into any problems. ... show more

  • How can a USB disappoint?
Did I ever think I could be disappointed by a USB? No. It never crossed my mind. It's just a USB for heaven's sake. Sigh. I have this USB in both the 64 gb and 128 gb. I dislike both. First, I find it difficult to insert them into the computer because the mechanism that retracts the USB doesn't lock in place. As you push the USB in, it "turtles" back into the black plastic part and it takes some finagling to get the USB into the computer. Then there's the horrible noise that both USBs make when I insert them--it's a crackling that makes it sound like wires are grating against one another. What IS that? None of my other USBs make that noise! The 128 gb USB also makes a light buzzing noise while it's in the computer. Don't get me started on the blinking red light that I see all day out of the corner of my eye... I don't understand how it is possible to dislike a USB, but I definitely dislike this one. ... show more

  • Very slow
I didn't notice that these were usb 2.0 when purchasing because there are usb 3 and 3.1 at the same price, but that is my own fault for not paying close enough attention. However, what I couldn't have known unless reading the reviews is how painfully slow these drives are. They transfer at 10 megabytes per second. USB 2.0 is capable of 60 megabytes per second. How they messed these devices up to not be able to get to even 25% of the spec speed is beyond me but look for something else. They obviously know the drives are this slow which is why they never mention their speed on the product page so the only way to know is by reading the reviews. ... show more

  • Too wide to fit ports!
This is an honest non paid for non free item given review. I was dumb and read too many reviews and was steered towards this older model? This model of flash drive. While it may work storage wise. I had to FORCE it into my PS4. Thinking it was the PS4, I tried it in my new sony 4K T.V. Nope! Still to fat and had to force it into the port! I have since had to squeeze it before putting it into a port so it won't scratch or stretch the port. My advice. DON'T GET THIS! Get a newer model. This sucks and a waste of money and since I "opened the packaging" (you kind of have to to try it out) I could not get a refund. 1 Star ... show more

  • Decent flash drive, but SecureAccess isn't the best.
It's 64GB and USB 2.0, no doubt about that. No issues transferring data to and from the Cruzer, but the SecureAccess software is a pain to use. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. Another time I had everything encrypted, but then it wouldn't recognize the password to let me access it. I had to wipe the drive and start all over again (luckily this is used as a third level of backups, so wasn't much of an issue). The build quality is fine. Nothing special, but I've definitely had worse flash drives. The notification light inside the red thumb slide is nice. It let's you know when the drive is being accessed by the computer. It is a tad wide, making it difficult to use side-by-side with other devices on my laptop, but that usually isn't an issue for me since I have 4 ports. It might be an issue for others with less ports than that though. I still use it, but got rid of the SecureAccess software altogether. Works fine as a standard USB 2.0 flash drive. ... show more
